Just came back to let you haters know that Man U won. Thought you might like to know. lol
I think if Torres hadn't been diving all night he might have gotten that penalty. Chelsea had their chances and missed all night. That is all that matters. The only way Ramires didn't get hte call is if the ref thought it was 50/50. Ramires hadn't touched the ball yet and it was kind of between the two.
If I were a Chelsea fan I'd be upset though.
if you watch the replay, ramires clearly takes a touch then evra scissors him. there is no excuse for not making that call when you have a linesmen and an official on the goal line.
also, what the heck was ancilloti thinking as well not subbing torres???
and i agree about torres diving, but the yellow card that went to jerkoff for a high boot....that can be debatable as well, but ferdinand straight up put his cleats in ramires's face and no card at all. granted, they both had their boots high, but cleats to the face and no card.
that referee is awful and always has been.
Must have forgot about Ramires taking a touch, should have been a penalty. Not subbing Torres was ridiculous, I guess when you pay that kind of money to get somebody you have to play them.
Is that the high kick that was in the box? If it is the one I was thinking about, Torres put his head down enough to not make it a high kick. At least in my opinion. Even if it were the other way , I wouldn't complain about that call. Hopefully some new refs come Tuesday.
nah, the high kick i'm talking about was between ramires and ferdinand around midfield (i think?). ashley cole was livid and protesting (they got the call, but they were angry that a card wasn't given).
and i agree, they need to bring in a better referee. but being UEFA, i doubt it. i think they thrive on controversy.
i just want a great match without any issues (i know, wishful thinking). i get sick and tired of these games where teams like barca use tactics like diving, etc. to gain an advantage they don't need. not saying man u. did that because they played harder and seemed to want it more than chelsea.
okay, i'm off my soap box....
Could not agree more. That's why I like English soccer, it seems to happen less than Spanish and even Italian leagues.
HUGE freakin win for Celtic today... now if Aberdeen can pull one out against Rangers....
YOu know all I hear is how these American owners screw everything up... Man U has done pretty freakin well with their Yankee ownership... why don't they just blow that team up so we can all live in a peace loving world???

i see that you are a newcastle fan as well? sweet. btw, i love some celtic too. good on ya.
Alright, for anyone who has been under a rock for the past 8 days.
ManU beat Chelsea 3-1 on aggregate.
Shalke beat Inter 7-3 on aggregate.
Barcelona beat Shakhtar 6-1 on aggregate.
Real Madrid beat Spurs 5-0 on aggregate.
Man U vs Shalke
First leg is Tuesday, April 26th, at Veltins arena. Second leg is Wednesday, May 4th, at Old Trafford.
I am really hoping Shalke's dream season ends here. It seems like Man U has somewhat of an easy draw, but I said the same about Inter. I still like Man U to get through.
Barcelona vs. Real Madrid
First leg is Wednesday, April 27th, at the Bernebeu (Real Madrid). Second leg is Tuesday, May 3rd, at Camp Nou (I think, ESPN doesn't have a second leg for this game scheduled, I am assuming.)
This is going to be a great match up. I think Barca will pull it out though. Ideally, being a Man U fan, I really want it to be 0-0 going into the second leg and then be a violent, red card fest for the second game. I hope Real wins because I think Nani or Valencia can have a field day against Sergio Ramos. Gareth Bale made him look like a fool in both games.
