Just came back to let you haters know that Man U won. Thought you might like to know. lol

good win for man pu, but once again...we have another paid off referee. not calling a penalty kick when ramirez got raped by evra in the penalty box is ridiculous.

I think if Torres hadn't been diving all night he might have gotten that penalty. Chelsea had their chances and missed all night. That is all that matters. The only way Ramires didn't get hte call is if the ref thought it was 50/50. Ramires hadn't touched the ball yet and it was kind of between the two.

If I were a Chelsea fan I'd be upset though.

if you watch the replay, ramires clearly takes a touch then evra scissors him. there is no excuse for not making that call when you have a linesmen and an official on the goal line.

also, what the heck was ancilloti thinking as well not subbing torres???

and i agree about torres diving, but the yellow card that went to jerkoff for a high boot....that can be debatable as well, but ferdinand straight up put his cleats in ramires's face and no card at all. granted, they both had their boots high, but cleats to the face and no card.

that referee is awful and always has been.

Must have forgot about Ramires taking a touch, should have been a penalty. Not subbing Torres was ridiculous, I guess when you pay that kind of money to get somebody you have to play them.

Is that the high kick that was in the box? If it is the one I was thinking about, Torres put his head down enough to not make it a high kick. At least in my opinion. Even if it were the other way , I wouldn't complain about that call. Hopefully some new refs come Tuesday.

nah, the high kick i'm talking about was between ramires and ferdinand around midfield (i think?). ashley cole was livid and protesting (they got the call, but they were angry that a card wasn't given).

and i agree, they need to bring in a better referee. but being UEFA, i doubt it. i think they thrive on controversy.

i just want a great match without any issues (i know, wishful thinking). i get sick and tired of these games where teams like barca use tactics like diving, etc. to gain an advantage they don't need. not saying man u. did that because they played harder and seemed to want it more than chelsea.

okay, i'm off my soap box....

Could not agree more. That's why I like English soccer, it seems to happen less than Spanish and even Italian leagues.

agreed. and what makes matters worse is the fact that they are so good they don't need to resort to such tactics. irritating.

every league has it's fair share, but none more than the spanish and itailian leagues. the guy i can't stand the most when it comes to this is sergio busquet....that guy is a douche.

Big day today guys, Man U is up by 1 in this game, 2 by aggregate. Haven't looked in on the Barca game. I don't really think that they are worried.

Anyone catch the Liverpool game this weekend against Man City?

They made good use of that transfer window snatching Carroll and Suarez. Both are nasty

Saw the highlights. I was high on Suarez after the cup and Carroll was a huge pickup.

Oh yeah, GLORY GLORY!

YOu know all I hear is how these American owners screw everything up... Man U has done pretty freakin well with their Yankee ownership... why don't they just blow that team up so we can all live in a peace loving world???

:)

i see that you are a newcastle fan as well? sweet. btw, i love some celtic too. good on ya.

I'm a Celtic fan... but they only have EPL icons on this site so I picked the only one I am even kind of a fan of... Newcastle is high enough north for me to stomach so I go for them in English soccer

Don't know if anybody is watching this, but Spurs are playing against 16 men out there (there are 5 refs that can make calls, right?) Should have been about 3-0 at half time just on penalties alone. Gomes made a huge mistake letting that Ronaldo shot through. Sorry to all of you Spurs supporters out there, I was really hoping they'd make this a great round and it looked like they were going to.

Alright, for anyone who has been under a rock for the past 8 days.

ManU beat Chelsea 3-1 on aggregate.
Shalke beat Inter 7-3 on aggregate.

Barcelona beat Shakhtar 6-1 on aggregate.
Real Madrid beat Spurs 5-0 on aggregate.

Man U vs Shalke
First leg is Tuesday, April 26th, at Veltins arena. Second leg is Wednesday, May 4th, at Old Trafford.
I am really hoping Shalke's dream season ends here. It seems like Man U has somewhat of an easy draw, but I said the same about Inter. I still like Man U to get through.

Barcelona vs. Real Madrid
First leg is Wednesday, April 27th, at the Bernebeu (Real Madrid). Second leg is Tuesday, May 3rd, at Camp Nou (I think, ESPN doesn't have a second leg for this game scheduled, I am assuming.)
This is going to be a great match up. I think Barca will pull it out though. Ideally, being a Man U fan, I really want it to be 0-0 going into the second leg and then be a violent, red card fest for the second game. I hope Real wins because I think Nani or Valencia can have a field day against Sergio Ramos. Gareth Bale made him look like a fool in both games.

I think this means that Barca will play RM 3 times in the next 3 weeks...good things for those that like Spanish Football and the El Clasico. Could be some bad blood (even more than normal) by that third game. I really wish these semifinal games would have been better though. All except for ManU & Chelsea were decided in the first leg.

As far as Spurs goes...no sympathy here. Nobody to blame except for their lousy keeper and the lady of the night loving Peter Crouch.

i think schalke will take man pu.

toss up between real and barca. barca's definitely the better team, but with jose calling the shots, you never know. can he pull off what he did with inter last year? we shall see and i can't wait.

btw, gareth bale has made plenty of players look like fools. ramos isn't fast but he's still a solid defender that can attack.

I don't really like either of these teams but Scholes get sent off for a ridiculous challenge and Man U's chances are looking slim in the FA semi's down 1 nil.
