So awful. HE was killing it.
Elliott out with a gruesome injury. Liverpool has no luck with injuries lately.
Lower leg knee it seems. I refuse to rewatch it.Like a knee? Ankle? Lower leg?
No video or photos please.
Chances created 2021/22 EPL:
20 Trent Alexander Arnold
13 Grealish, Salah
12 Jiminez, Ritchie
11 Adama
He’s shit
Dislocated ankle 6-8 minimum
Weeks from my understanding. Obviously don’t know for sure. They gave him a pain inhaler and reset it on the field.Months or weeks? His foot was going the wrong way. This photo says it all. Look at the face of the leads player and the physio in the mask. Salah was screaming for help immediately.
I will say, one day after 9/11, seeing the staff from both Liverpool and Leeds rush out onto the field in addition to the medical responders get out on the pitch for him just goes to show that wherever they are medical staff/first responders are worth their wait in gold. These guys didn't wait for Pawson to stop play either.
Last year, breathing on a Man United player was a foul. Now Burnley can play rugby if they choose to in an effort to keep the game "flowing." Can we perhaps find a middle ground? I know the guy didn't do this on purpose, but you can see in the stills he came from behind Elliott with both feet off of the ground at one point. My assumption here is these guys know referees are calling looser matches this year and he never thought about making a tackle like this twice.
Leeds had gotten away with some prior to this and Liam Cooper had a similar tackle on Mane AFTER this and no foul was given.

Probably at a minimum for sure. Haven’t heard abo needing surgery yet. That's best case scenario, and I can't recall the last time a Liverpool injury ended as such. It sounded like he needs surgery?

Biggest takeaway from that chart at the end is that Man United is going to have a regression to the mean.
Saw he did have a successful surgery today and is expected to be back playing before end of the season. FWIW
The Messi/Ronaldo Show picked up 1 point out of 6 in Champions League this week.
Hey, you try playing powerhouses like Young Boys and (let me check) Club Brugge!
In all honesty, United has work to do in the Champions League and Ole has some questions to answer (and not by saying people are making a bigger deal out of it than it is). The midfield got ran all over and he took off creative players after half against Young Boys. It's not like it was Bayern and there was a chance to hold on to a win or tie. They are expected to be able to hold on to a win when down a man. Luckily for them, Villareal and Atalanta tied so progressing is still within reach (and still have three home fixtures left).
Not sure what happened with PSG. They have a tougher group, though. If Leipzig starts playing well, PSG might be in trouble.
PSG…..I was wondering how well having all 3 on the field at the same time was gonna work. Not sure it did this game.
Weird thing about Pochettino. I liked his Southampton and Tottenham sides. Like him. Seems like an okay guy.
Has he ever won anything? That's really how this is all measured in the end and to my recollection he's never won anything. Gave Citah some headaches every blue moon or so but otherwise he got to a Champions League Final he didn't win and the club subsequently tail spun into him being sacked thereafter.
What's crazy about it is I think Pochettino would do well for Manchester United because Ole at the Wheel is a white Bronco ride to hell. I hope he stays as long as possible.
The blue moon thing wasn't intentional and I just realized it. I am posting it as is.
Feels like this season, though very young, has been The Messi and Ronaldo Show being spoonfed down everyone's throats while Liverpool and Chelsea have quietly gone about their business while Haaland continues to just be awesome for Dortmund.
Bayern and PSG should win their leagues. Little doubt there. La Liga rolls through Madrid one way or the other. Juventus in the relegation zone means Serie A might be wide open at the top.
The Premier League seems to have a Top Four that is far ahead of the rest of the pack. Among that top four, I don't think United will make a title run this year. They'll get the results in most cases but finish fourth. Citah always start slow. I expect them to be challenging for the title and the domestic cups at year end. I do think they should forget about the FA Cup and League Cup to zero in more on Europe, but that's their choice.
Liverpool and Chelsea look very Strong. I would expect Chelsea to perhaps bolster their side come January, as will Citah most likely. England To Four should be fun. The relegation battle should be even better.
