Simeone wanted no part of Liverpool yesterday. The early goal was a nice bonus for them. Ten men behind the ball the entire match. Shithouse tactics with guys doing Neymar impersonations falling and rolling around whenever some got near them. Klopp subs off Mane and Salah, basically condeding "It's 1-0 and we'll see you at Anfield."

Really felt like Simeone gave Liverpool a lot of respect in that match, though they play everyone that way. He knew the best team in the world was there and they locked it down.

The post match interview was enough for me. Andy Robertson looks like he wants to play them again right now.

I thought for sure Dortmund and PSG would've been 5-4 or something like that. Would love to see PSG go out.

How do you feel going back to Anfield down a goal? I know what you guys did last year to Barca, but Atleti isn't Barca. They are gonna park the bus, and park the bus hard. For the sake of the game, would hate to see it go to penalties.

Very confident. A couple of years ago, I would not be, but this is the best team on the planet right now. Yesterday around the 75th minute, you could see the players start to resign themselves to it being 1-0 going home. No panic, no pressure, just a very professional approach to finishing out the match.

I hope the referee is consistent. I've never seen Klopp scream at a fourth official like he did yesterday since he's been at Liverpool.

Liverpool are a different team when Mane is fully fit and playing. He makes Robertson better. Evidence of this was Saturday vs Norwich when Mane came on and yesterday when Klopp took him off. They work very well together on the left side. It isn't even close.

Similar to Barca last year in that away the shithousery and falling, getting into Liverpool's head a little bit. I thought they held their own well yesterday knowing that was going to be a cagey match in a hostile arena. I've seen them play worse. It wasn't all that bad. Just as last year at Barca they lost 3-0 but played very well.

I'll take a 2-0 win at home, but after that display yesterday, I hope Liverpool smash them like an egg in the oven.

I don't remember it being that long, was a change made in the last few years that I failed to pay attention to I guess is the question...

Other than Man United and Arsenal being absent from the competition?

I know we have a lot of non city fans on this feed, so I am sure yesterday was not met with much excitement...but man what a result.

After the past few weeks this club has had, to go out and have their biggest away performance in Europe in thier history...just wow, and for the best midfielder in the wold to score to winning goal on a penalty (which City has missed their last four) against the dude who f*cked his girlfriend was just icing on the cake! https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/kevin-de-bruynes-ex-girlfriend-21585735

We shall see what CAS has to say in the upcoming months, but for now I am just going to enjoy the ride, and believe that this squad can finally bring this elusive trophy home.

CITY'S GOING DOWN WITH A BILLION IN THE BANK!

P.S. Congratulations to all the Liverpool fans on this forum. I'm sure you all would have liked for City or some other squad to put up a fight and make it a little more exciting for the run in of the season....but when you drop two points all year that makes it a little tough. Ha

On this note today is a massive day for Scotland's coefficient. A Celtic win will put Scotland back in the top ten. Pretty rare days when just about every fan of the league is rooting for either Rangers or Celtic but today may be that day.

Yesterday, I learned that Liverpool Twitter doesn't like City but it REALLY doesn't like Real Madrid. I had no problem with the result whatsoever. They bossed Real away from home and deserved the win. Excellent performance. It will truly take a special team to steal the League away from them in England. :)

If Athleti knock Liverpool out, Europe is City's to win.

As for Scotland, I think Andy Robertson could probably push Celtic for a title by himself.

Chelsea fans singing about Steven Gerrard during an FA Cup match.

At least they're actually playing Liverpool while doing so.

Weird.

...Galaxy bought a dude in his mid 30's who was no longer mobile. That is their own fault.

Sounds like MLS is getting Daniel Sturridge soon, too.

That's it. That's the post.

League or no League, I'll take Gerrard's resume as a player on and off the pitch overall. John Terry and Ryan Giggs, not so much.

Random Liverpool comment: This Losing series that the team is going through coincides exactly with the absence of Jordan Henderson. Even The Boss knows that and nearly said it flat out, when he referred to not having "Hendo" as his on-field voice, and not even having (for those games) his secondary voice (Milner) to drive the team to play as Liverpool MUST play to be better than just another of the good teams.

This nearly unique Klopp offensive system requires Pack-of-wolves challenging to terrorize the midfield and "suddenly" create reversal errors that Mane and Firmino and the wingbacks can scoop up and service Salah or Mane himself. No Hendo, no true Pack of Wolves, colorless offense. If Henderson cannot return, I do not see Liverpool repeating in the Championship League this season. Fortunately they have already secured the EPL and can limp home. The only thing that could alter that would be if Salah ever completes a pass (no italics.)

Fabinho has been awful since he came back from injury. He went from best defensive midfielder on the planet, to injured, to "what the fuck is wrong with him?"

It's concerning.

The Skipper being out doesn't help matters any.
