I didn't have a horse in the race until late middle school, early high school (Late 90s, early 2000s). My frosh year in high school I played outside mid. Idolized Beckham. Moved to a center mid roll, idoilzed Scholes. Then moved to more of a striker roll, idolized Van Persie. At least I'm consistent?

Apparently Man United are backing out of the Sancho race. I was hoping for him or Joao Felix. I thought Sancho was a more plausible option, and am surprised they backed out. Perhaps it's a power move, who knows. I'm excited about Daniel James (all but confirmed) and the thought of Aron Wan Bissaka. I'm 100% content selling De Gea (Romero would be fine, they also ahve a good younger guy who I can't remember his name). Sell Lukaku and Sanchez, get Dybala/Felix. I'm sure there are some other areas of concern, but those feel like the most urgent.

Plz don't sign Dybala

Chelsea’s manager payoffs under Abramovich:

Antonio Conte - £9m
Jose Mourinho - £8.3m
Di Matteo - £10.7m
Villas Boas - £12m
Ancelotti - £6m
Felipe Scolari - £12.6m
Avram Grant - £5.2m
Jose Mourinho - £23.1m
Ranieri - £6m
Total = £92.9m

Sarri is his tenth manager in the 16 years he's owned the club. This is my fear for Pulisic's development.

Brandt and Hazard are upgrades for Dortmund. Big signings.

I would love Dybala. Him, Pepe, and Felix are up there for me. I've heard Inter might try to swap Icardi plus cash for Lukaku. I wouldn't like it, as he seems to have a ton of off the field issues, and his wife goes on a tv show every week and talks shit about his teammates...

Apparently Wan Bissaka is pretty close to done, Daniel James is done, but they are letting him decide when to announce since his father died yesterday. Of course, this is all just the most credible rumors and everything can change!

Icardi owns. Way better than Lukaku.

Word on the street is De Ligt accepted Man U's offer. Should be announced sooner rather than later.

Agree. He's kind of the forgotten man in Argentine football, incidentally. I've always thought he should figure more prominently in the national team. Who knows if he could help make things click; whatever they've been doing isn't working, despite all their talent.

Rumors of Sarri going to Juventus.

Chelsea would be back on the market for a manager again just in time for Pulisic's arrival.

Anyone in the Cleveland area going to the Gold Cup match next month? Where's a good place to pregame near the stadium?

The scary thing about this squad is they are young and still hungry because that League title is still looming over the club.

They essentially paid for Allison and Virgil with the Coutinho money. Hilarious.

I'm interested to see what Spurs do this summer and if Poch stays there long term. Really have nothing against their club. Scary to see what Poch could do with looser purse strings.

Haven't seen Liverpool fans talking much about anything other their own club. Consider how other clubs win titles and sing songs about Liverpool. Weird.

Incredible support and those parade images are obvious proof of that. Really awesome.

It’s interesting how much you bring up other clubs talking about Liverpool and how Liverpool doesn’t bring up other clubs (except when bringing up the fact that other clubs bring up Liverpool...). This seems to be a point of pride for the fans. Not talking smack in the least, just interesting to me the soccer culture in Europe and each club. I have really tried not to get too immersed as it seems to be more consuming than college football. Liverpool obviously has a rich tradition and unbelievable support. The next few years could be very special for them.

Best part of soccer is the short offseason, especially compared to football.

I'm enjoying European club football far more than college football in recent years. College football has become pretty gross, and those who were worried about it going the AAU Basketball route were right in those fears.

It kind of reminds me of when the "Yankees Suck" chant would brake out at a Patriots Super Bowl parade. If you watch these matches on TV, you can hear very clearly how certain clubs are singing/chanting about a team they aren't playing in that moment. It's strange. Similar to how ND Football can live rent free in the heads of a lot of people and you question the relevance.

I imagine it's cultural. I also think there are a couple of clubs in England that are sort of "new money" and want to try to create a rivalry when in reality there isn't one. For Liverpool their rivals are Everton and Manchester United, in that order.

I think it's amusing more than anything else. Some fan bases on Twitter question the value of something when someone they don't like wins it.

When I watch their matches I get to hear songs about my club. It's kind of nice.

Plus they're in the North, and not London, which is cool too. I'm all for anyone north of Sheffield doing well in the Premier League.

I know more people now who hate Alabama and Ohio State Football vs Notre Dame. The only thing I hear about ND is how they play a "soft schedule". Usually around the time LSU rolls up Citadel in November before their last conference game of the season.

People can hate who they want to hate. Fuck do I care? I hope every year Penn State Football never wins a game.

I'm the exact opposite and I think I was one first to get on this train... it's less interesting every year.

I always find these points odd....are you honestly going to tell me with a straight face that Liverpools two league matches against Manchester United and two versus Everton were bigger more important games for the reds this year then the five points they dropped to City?

Whether or not that makes the games a rivalry is a mute point and subjective...but if you honestly think City vs Liverpool for the foreseeable future in England is not the biggest game of the year, whenever it happens, you're out of your mind.

Enjoy your champions league trophy, you guys earned it.

We will see you next year, cannot wait!
