Did you guys watch the CL Final? I'm surprised no one is talking about it lol.

Boring. Felt bad for Juve. Sergio Ramos should be excommunicated if he's Catholic. Ronaldo is a d-bag but he scores. Just another day..

Liverpool close to a deal with Salah.

Van Dijk has also decided on Liverpool over Chelsea and City. Talks set to begin. Van Dijk impressed with Klopp, and if they're matching City's offer and wages, Klopp must surely be impressed with him.

Lacazette's people reportedly set to meet with Arsenal and Liverpool, among others. He's stated previously that he won't leave Lyon unless the club he goes to is in Champions League, so there's that .

Real Madrid have reportedly made a third big to Monaco for MBappe. It's insanity.

Salah is done deal. VDD is a sketchy situation but think Liverpool can get him. My guy is saying positive things. I am however not sure. Lacazette seems to be very possible. My guy also likes where Lacazette and Liverpool stand. Leaves second striker and RB as minimum needs IMO.

Boring? What game were you watching. lol. The first half was wide open, counter attacks going back and forth. Second half Madrid broke Juve. Even though I dont like Madrid or Juve, I still find much enjoyment watching Modric and Isco. Amazing skill level from those two player. The things they do with the ball and positioning is so fun to watch.

And yes, Ramos is who we thought he was... a scum bag

Yeah, that first half was the most entertaining half of soccer I've seen all year. Both sides were really going for it, and there was so much quality on both sides. I was just in awe of the skill at times, especially on the Juve goal. Absolute stunner. Then the wheels came off for Juve in the second half, and that took the fun out of it for me. Real is just so unlikable.

Isco was fantastic, it's true. It's funny, a few years ago when Raheem Sterling was still with my Reds, but after the Man City rumors had started, I specifically remember saying to my buddy, "Let Sterling go if he wants, but he should keep in mind that Rodgers has featured him and will continue to do so, whereas at Man City he'll just be Isco," meaning a young talented guy who nevertheless doesn't play that much in the meaningful matches. My prediction was correct as to Ras, but the analogy has turned out to be all wrong because Isco has turned into an absolute stud.

Oh you must not remeber. Before Klopp got hired by Liverpool I was very adamant it was a done deal because my guy who lives in Merseyside was feeding me local intel before it made the press here. Anyway I took a lot of flack from multiple posters. Typical I know ...:)

Then it happened and I didnt hear shit from any of those naysayers. I said they could kiss my ass. You called me very humble. Lol.

I honestly don't remember what my thoughts were that day or so, a month out I remember hoping he'd stay put but in the week or so before it went down it became clear he was going SOMEWHERE...

he's a must buy for them really.

Absolutely. He would be massive.

Funny Southampton are not going after Man City and Chelsea who has been really involved until this week when reports stated VVD wanted to play for Klopp.

Kolasinac to Arsenal:
Arsenal makes it official with versatile left-sided Schalke man | ProSoccerTalk

Great signing for them or anyone, imo. I thought he might make sense for LFC, but it never materialized.

I'm delighted with VVD and Salah, assuming the deals go through. Still very concerned about the fullbacks, since apparently LFC dropped pursuit of Ryan Sessegnon because he wasn't committed to leaving London (the parallels between Liverpool and Notre Dame recruiting continue to amaze). Andy Robertson of Hull now? Great young player, but not as splashy a target as I'd hoped.

Who is Liverpool selling? FSG has been normally pretty stingy, operating more like Spurs who don't take huge losses in the transfer windows. How much is Pool spending?

I get taking advantage of Klopp + Champions League but realistically they will be in a very tough pod coming out CL playoffs and if they don't advance past the group stages the payout is like £18 million. Nothing earth shattering.

I know Klopp said they have the money but obliterating their transfer fee record by almost double AND giving VanDyke the highest ever wages at the club is crazy. We looking at £100 million just for VanDyke and Salah? Hoo boy, good luck!

Yeah, good question. The only likely outgoing players who could probably command substantial transfer fees are Sturridge and Moreno, and what could the fees be? Maybe 30M combined (20M for Studge and 10M for Moreno)? Definitely questions to answer there.

My initial guesses are Lucas, Sturridge, Moreno, Sahko, Markovic, and Kevin Stewart one of the keepers (probably Bogdan) and loan out a shit ton of the young guys to balance out the wages. Liverpool also has signed Solanke for 3 million pounds and sold Ilori so far. If you think about it Liverpool could get 100 mil from those players alone and then spend a net 100 million to get more players. Its not too far fetched at all to think they have 200 million to spend.

I just read a Liverpool FC fan thread (somewhat more civilized than a Notre Dame football thread, but it had its moments), and something dawned on me: The vast majority of those people are ho-hum on Lallana, often relegating him to the bench for the coming season. Firmino also typically gets their ax.

I'm boggled about both, but particularly about Lallana, who continually is part of the Liverpool scores (whether one or two passes back.) England apparently agreed with me, having named him to their squad. Klopp apparently agrees. What's in their heads?

These people are projecting Mane, Coutinho, Salah, and then a variety of mysteries occur in the final two attacking choices --- but in only about a quarter of them does Lallana appear. Can folks here enlighten me?

They are, at least, delirious about Van Dijk, and most bench Lovran and keep Matip on the pitch. Huge bitchings ensue about Henderson vs Can, and generally about James Milner. I believe that I've only seen one prospective line-up that my amateur eye would agree with.

If pool get Salah, Lacazette, ands Van Dijk... much wow.

Something will go wrong as we aren't allowed to have nice things normally.

If Klopp is really looking for a striker, Timo Werner might be a better fit. And cheaper.

Lacazette has his heart set on Athleti but because of their transfer ban he can't go there just yet.

My experience is the same OMM. They are very reactive and the "what have you done for me lately" attitude can be widespread. Its funny because Salah is essentially a clone of Mane. There is a tendency with these fans to have to fit the new signings into the first team immediately and the process begins with who should be replaced by the new person. I consider them to play the same position. I personally see Salah spelling a healthy Mane in the tournaments or in the league on games after CL games midweek.

Firminho and Lallana are excellent and integral to the team moving forward so I dont understand their criticisms except that Lallana can sometimes be mistaken as being aloof when he is in fact being very slick on the ball and that Bobby has had off the field issues with the law.

I also think that either Can or Henderson are surplus to requirements in the DM position. Either Can needs to play a more attacking role or he will be sitting behind Henderson (when healthy). I have hear rumors there are teams who want Can bad so its possible he could go this year.

Milner is the fucking man. I dont care what anyone says. He is seasoned hardened veteran with tons of CL experience. Dude is extremely valuable and he was brought on for a free transfer. Excellent business there
