Zlatan scored 51 goals in 50 games this year (albeit in the shithouse french league) so he's obviously still has something to give. Not sure if he'll be nuturing presence at united and Mourinho rarely plays with more than 1 striker. His arrival wont be good for Martial/Rashford's development

This is pretty good. I chuckled at the part where the players were upset about the kit manager being sacked because he gave them investment advise. Lol.

Jonathan Wilson is great, he contributes to a bunch of different football podcasts and is always entertaining and poking fun at the absurdity of the players and managers.

The kit manager investment advice sounds daft but it actually happened to the England Rugby Team last year and caused a huge scandal

I think Wilson was referencing this in his joke.

City fans, don't forget where you were only a little while ago...

Liverpool fans, get competitive in England again.

Celtic fans, take a look at your league and re-evaluate.

Wow haha thats great. Thanks for the article. I'm actually a huge South Sydney Rabbitohs fan, and I'm shocked that I some how missed that Big Sam Burgess was involved in this.

yeah Burgess was brought from League to Union for big money but he made little or no impact because he could never find a true position (not nuanced enough to be a back rower, not good enough a passer to be a centre). He was one of the scapegoats for their terrible World Cup campaign and quit shortly afterwards to go back to Sydney

Yeah, I followed the story. Bath was keen to keep him around, but once the media labeled him as the scapegoat, there was zero chance he was staying for Union. Especially since he was about to get married and his wife is from Sydney.

yeah the Northern/League influence on the English national team is gone now with Lancaster and Farrell departed. Jones has them playing good rugby now you have to say (sadly as an Irishman).

Love watching NRL though, its a great league.

I always enjoyed watching Union and playing a little bit. But when I went to Sydney 5 years ago, I discovered League and totally fell in love with it. I try to watch NRL whenever I can. State of Origin is absolutely amazing to watch. Here in Chicago we actually are putting together a Rugby League exhibition in August to try and promote the sport since Union is king and no one gives League any coverage. I wish we could play more but its so hard to organize. We have to reach out to all the Union clubs and convince guys to come out and play a League game. Its not like soccer, where I can just go to the park and play any day of the week.

yeah i can imagine its a hard graft trying to get a league scene going in Chicago, probably easier out on the west coast or utah where there might be more Antipodeans knocking about.

Ireland plays New Zealand in Soldier field in the fall you should definitely try get tickets it will be like Paddy's Day :)

I plan on attending. I went with a group to the USA Eagles vs All Blacks in 2014. The match was a boring blow out, but the atmosphere was great.

I don't understand this obsession out there with his age. He may be 34, but he scored 53 goals this season, including 5 goals in the Champions League. Nobody is expecting 10 years out of him at Old Trafford, but 2-3 good seasons while we prepare young Marcus Rashford to become the leader of the club would be huge for us. He also adores Mourinho so that will help our case.

I have to agree. The guy is a lethal finisher from anywhere inside 35 yards. As he gets older he may not be as dynamic and may need more dynamic teammates, but I have no doubt that Zlatan can produce at United.

Getting Zlatan would be great for Memphis DePay's career, imo. Having a top striker to play off of and draw attention would create more space for him to create.

If they could get one decent season out of him I'd consider that a win for them. By decent I mean 15 league goals. Maybe 25 total. Big difference between playing for PSG against Little Sisters and playing for Man U against much better competition.

I'm telling you the important factor here is Mkhitaryan... if he moves, (which right now seems likely, but we know how that can go in Euro soccer) there is zero chance Gundy or anyone else of note goes anywhere... it's been flat out stated numerous times that of the three in question, Hummels, Gundy and MK, they can not and will not move all three...

Looking pretty likely that all 3 will be moved..;)

Great, great signing for City, if he can stay healthy. That's just the player they need in the center of the park.

Why is Reus so low? Health?? He's FAR too low and I'm being as objective as I can there...

Well Dortmund decided to go all in with Mkhitaryan... which I can't blame them for, but they may have played their hand wrong because he and his agent look like they're wanting to move on with the other moves out...

Totally agree. Just based on a quick glance, I would take Reus over at least a half-dozen comparable players (position-wise) who are rated more highly than he is. Jordon Ibe especially jumps out ... I know that Ibe is only 20, so I assume that his potential to develop is part of it, but it's a little absurd to give those two guys the same rating.

Health and age definitely ding him a little bit. He didn't even make the German Euro team. This is totally a snap shot in time of these players worth right now and not so much a list of the best or most talented.

He did (or would have depending on how you look at it) make the team, he got scratched because of injury. I saw the release the day it was announced, it was one of those "Major blow to the German team as one of our best players will have to sit out" releases.

Yeah I think this is right. So much of valuing a player is based on the player's age. No way Raheem Sterling is worth more than at least a dozen of the players rated below him in terms of his present worth, but he's 21, which gives him another 5 or so years many of those guys, such as Reus, don't have.

Dybala stands out aswell. Hes only 22 so he def should be top 25, but top 10 is a bit of a surprise. Good for him. I'm excited to see what he does in the next few years.

Yup, age is the biggest factor.

Spurs have £274 million from 7 players on this list and they are all 24 or younger.

That top 100 list is nice but zero chance that 2 keepers are worth more than Neuer. at 30 he still has 6-7 dominant years and a couple good ones after that.
