So floor is challenging for fourth? Is that what you're saying? I have no doubt they'd make it, but EL places is where I'd put their ceiling for the forseeable future. The Prem is no the SPL for quality. Celtic would be pushed hard by a lot of those mid table teams.

Within three to four years THEIR quality would be on par with that on Spurs like teams... At worst... I don't think that's being a homer, they have every they need RIGHT NOW to compete with the top clubs in the world, except for league income... The EPL would solve that overnight... It wouldn't take long for the roster to catch up.

Watching NBC Sports network for the first time. I am really pleased with their pregame. Hopefully their telecast will be good. Lets go Reds!

In case anyone is wondering why they are mobbing Mignolet. I won't go into any criticisms, I just happy we opened the season with three points for the first time since 2008.

I just have to say that Arsenal game was BRUTAL. In every aspect and in every term, down to the manager interview. So many bookings.

Also saw where New Castle rejected their bid for Cabaye.

Gerrard looks like he punched Mignolet. LOL.

E's arddd!

When was the last time you saw the team on fire like that? I can recall one time, and that was the home leg against Zenit after BR called for a "proper European night at Anfield." I don't believe that night was like this though. It feels different. Doesn't mean anything, but it's a positive to have a tight squad.

Steeeeeeee Gerraaaaaaaaa Gerraaaaaaad!

This is my response to the Arsenal issues after that audacious 40m+1 **** they pulled. It happens every year, but Wenger gets it's right in the end.

I can't. That was a whole new level of play. Lots of work, high pressure. Really excited. I knew Stoke would be tough to break down but the Reds broke them down time and again. It easily could have been 4-0 without their keeper. Henderson looked very good (surprising to me) and he should have had a brace.

It honestly reminds me of some of the early 80s games with Dalglish and Rush et al.

Yeah. I felt bad for the players who got hurt but the fans reaction was priceless. I thought Sagna broke his neck. That was really scary. Arsenal's players looked like spoiled brats the whole time. They better toughen up, Villa just flat our punched them right in the kisser.

After watching the embarrassment of this past weekend it was great to see Arsenal win 3-0 to start their Champions League season. It's been very frustrating this summer with promises of signings and seeing nothing. Throughout this game it was evident there is talent there, they just need those two maybe three players to really make an impact and push this team forward. Somehow I hope this can be accomplished.

Out of curiosity, which positions/areas do you think Arsenal should be strengthening? Lots of names are been thrown around and it is getting interesting now.

I've been arguing for a DM a la Viera for quite a bit; clearly Song was not the answer and Diaby just cannot stay healthy. Furthermore, Arteta has a couple of years left and that is about it. Maybe after today's performance Ramsey can take that rol.
Right-back is also a priority especially with Sagna's contract up in the air. Other than that I think Wenger should let the kids play: Miyachi, that Zelalem kid and Eisfeld.

I have a chance to tour Anfield next week and was wondering if anyone has done it themselves? I'm not an Liverpool Fan, but was wondering if it would still be a cool experience. Thanks

I had a buddy who was from Newcastle... he would say many times, that maybe only Old Trafford can compare to our stadiums in terms of niceties, facilities and such… He lives in El Paso now and often used that as a comparison… he’d say the Sun Bowl is so much ‘nicer’ than “Great” stadiums like “St. James Park” or ‘Sam. Bridge’… he made them sound basically Spartan in comparison…

I don’t know if that helps but I would assume as long as you are prepared for a more basic grounds feel to it all you’d have to love the history of Anfield (how can you not??)

And for what it is worth this dude has lived in the States for about 15 years or so without returning so maybe ALL grounds out there have had serious updating since…

A DM is clearly needed. I really wish Diaby could stay healthy, but it's too late in his career to expect that. He was playing so well at the beginning of last year too. Song was a very good midfielder, just wasn't a DM though he played good there. Arteta is getting up there, but is smart. I really liked Ramsey's performance as you mentioned, and I've always liked him because he just flat hustles every game. Maybe he could grow into the role, but I'd like to see another DM for competition sake.

Another striker/winger would be nice due to being thin there, but we have some top notch up front. I think a bigger need would be another center back just do provide coverage for Per, Kos, and TV5 (who is currently hurt). I think Jenkinson could be a good RB, but we'll have to see. I am not necessarily a fan of getting a GK. I like Szczesny and when he just reacts and doesn't overthink he is excellent.

I would love to see some of the young guys step up as you mentioned. Hopefully some can be sprinkled in for the return game next week and in a few early round domestic cup games to get their feet wet.

I toured the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid (home of Real) one time and it was the most boring thing I ever done and decided then and there I would never pay money for a thing like this again. Not many european stadiums will wow you with their empty shell. The real atmosphere comes at game time. So in summary i think stadium tours are pointless. :)

I read where Sturridge said he yelled "OVER!" at Coutihno before he dummied. So Coutihno's english must be getting better.

I also love Aspa's movement's and dummies. So exciting. He and Couhtino can pull a backline apart. Have to get the finishing balls in better though.

Aston Villa will finish in the top 10 if they play like they have all week. Looks to be a good young side. Delph could be a star.

I turned it on when it was 1-1, right when Cardiff was about to get their second. I couldn't believe how poorly Joe Hart did on the second goal. On the third goal, Pablo Zabaleta literally just stood there.

Is the ManU-Chelsea game on NBCSports?

Reading reports that Bradley may move from Roma to Sunderland. DiCanio wanting to hook Bradley and Altidore up? Thoughts? Is this good for the USMNT heading into WC?
