Trent Alexander Arnold looked like he was sleepwalking through celebrations. It was almost off-putting. Then suddenly something must have clicked and he broke down. Sad he's leaving, wish him well.

They estimated that there were 1.5M people at that parade yesterday. The city of Liverpool itself doesn't even have 500,000 people living in it. In this day and age, that's got to be a major security alert. The Cubs 2016 WS parade was estimated at 5 million and that's in the third largest city in America.

There will be more details to come, but it sounds like the main question is how did this vehicle end up on a street that had been blocked off for the day.

The ethnicity of the driver seemed important on social media, too, but it turned out to be a 53 year old white male who lives local to Liverpool in West Darby much to the disappointment of some.

Everton fans have had a rough decade or so.

On a positive soccer note,
My son played and won the u9 soccer tournament at Inter miami this weekend. As a prize, he got to have a team photo with Messi. He was so excited!
Trying upload the photo but image us to large. Very gracious celebrity athlete

Be sure to include that on his recruiting profile...lol...

But that is pretty cool...that can have an impact on an athlete....i know my boys were thrilled to meet a World Cup player who played for Germany in the 2000s, Oliver Neuville...came to a camp my boys attended...it had an impact on them. This picture is when they were 10 at the Borussia Monchengladbach camp here in Chicago

When you think of the names that have passed through PSG over the years, none of them delivered a Champions League.

This current squad put on what was probably the most dominant performance in a final. The player at the forefront of it turns 20 tomorrow.

I actually dont mind the Bridgeview stadium..its pretty nice and easy to get to
I've been to multiple games there. I like the venue. The location not so much.

Access is fine unless the Fire are playing a team with David Beckham, Thierry Henry or Zlatan. Miserable logistics for all three of those games. Sitting in bumper to bumper traffic waiting to get into the parking lot due to very poor planning.

It never should have been built there. You know as well as i do being local to the Chicago burbs that they could have built it in Arlington Heights or in Hoffman Estates, soccer mom heaven, and it would have made a lot more sense. There isn't anything in Bridgeview where Toyota Park was built. And the people of Bridgeview got stuck paying the bill on top of it.

Had they built it in Hoffman where the Sears Centre ended up being built (currently called NOW Arena), you're in suburban soccer paradise right off of I-90. They would be thriving.

It was an incredibly poor piece of municipal planning and less than twenty years later it is sitting there not being used by the Fire or the Red Stars.

I'm not super well traveled when it comes to stadiums but my limited experience has been you can have easily accessible stadiums (Kansas City teams) or you can have stadiums in neat urban areas (Minneapolis teams).

The cost of these new soccer stadiums is very disheartening to see as a North Dakota State fan. Our dome is 30+ years old, can't be expanded, and any renovation is putting lipstick on an old pig.

Liam Delap is Chelsea's 40th permanent signing in the last 36 months.

Now they are pursuing Kudus and Pedro.

The PSR situation in the Premier League is trash. It favors Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea. The system doesn't allow adjustments for $105M allowable losses over the 3 year PSR period for inflation. The NFL increases their cap to keep up with demand and the changing market, which is how it should be. Chelsea and the Manchesters are already at an advantage, so why would they want the cap to change when they can keep everyone else like Newcastle, Villa, etc. pinned back?

No one can compete with these clubs on a revenue basis because none of this started on a even playing field to begin with. City, United and Chelsea appear to be the biggest winners in this system.

Im still waiting to see the hammer come down on Man City for their fiscal cheating...looking to be the same outcome as the NCAA with Michigan

I doubt anything is going to happen.

It's very interesting to me that the rules had to suddenly be changed as soon as Newcastle went under new ownership. I'm sure the timing is coincidence.

DETAILED ROSTER BY POSITION (Club/Country; Caps/Goals)

GOALKEEPERS (3): Chris Brady (Chicago Fire; 0/0), Matt Freese (New York City FC; 0/0), Matt Turner (Crystal Palace/ENG; 51/0)

DEFENDERS (9): Max Arfsten (Columbus Crew; 3/0), Alex Freeman (Orlando City; 0/0), Nathan Harriel (Philadelphia Union; 0/0), Mark McKenzie (Toulouse/FRA; 19/0), Tim Ream (Charlotte FC; 68/1), Chris Richards (Crystal Palace/ENG; 24/1), Miles Robinson (FC Cincinnati; 32/3), John Tolkin (Holstein Kiel/GER; 4/0), Walker Zimmerman (Nashville SC; 43/3)

MIDFIELDERS (9): Brenden Aaronson (Leeds United/ENG; 47/8); Tyler Adams (Bournemouth/ENG; 44/2), Sebastian Berhalter (Vancouver Whitecaps/CAN; 0/0), Johnny Cardoso (Real Betis/ESP; 18/0), Luca de la Torre (San Diego FC; 24/1), Diego Luna (Real Salt Lake; 4/0), Jack McGlynn (Houston Dynamo; 4/1), Quinn Sullivan (Philadelphia Union; 0/0); Malik Tillman (PSV Eindhoven/NED; 17/0)

FORWARDS (5): Paxten Aaronson (FC Utrecht/NED; 1/0), Patrick Agyemang (Charlotte FC; 4/3),Damion Downs (FC Köln/GER; 0/0), Brian White (Vancouver Whitecaps/CAN; 4/1), Haji Wright (Coventry City/ENG; 15/4)

I feel like they have to win this. A good showing won't be enough. A poor one is probably catastrophic going into a World Cup next year. As host, no less.

Tottenham have sacked Ange.

Thomas Frank appears to be the favorite to replace him.

Can’t have him.

He’s been excellent and would be a real blow for Brentford.
I agree.

Plenty of cautionary tales should be enough for him to wait for something else or stay put, but he's probably at the point he needs to cash in and at least get a pay day. He gets fired, he can wind up back in the Premier League ala Graham Potter.

I apologize for bringing this up, but I just made the mistake of watching the USMNT play a half of soccer that had one commentator say that they demonstrated to him the INABILITY TO COMPETE. The other halftime commentator characterized this as THE WORST HALF OF USMNT SOCCER THAT HE HAD EVER SEEN. The team was boo-ed off the pitch at halftime.

Does anyone else cringe when this team is said to be the 16th best team in the world? Four straight losses now: Panama // Canada // Turkiev // Switzerland. I always tune in. Maybe not next time. (yeh I know the studs weren't there, but this was amateur hour with no effort nor pride.)

All the momentum was behind the USMNT leading into the 2026 World Cup...and they're going to squander it all.

The team flat out STINKS. I had high hopes for Pochettino, but this is ghastly.

We probably do not qualify if not for the auto bid being host.

It's bad enough to the point that it really isn't worth discussing anymore. I have zero expectations for the Gold Cup at this point.

USMNT U17 beat Japan 3-0

USMNT U18 beat France, Argentina, Australia and Portugal to win the Friendship Cup.

USMNT U19 drew Ukraine, who finished 3rd in the U19 Euros.

USMNT U20 defeated Columbia 1-0.

The vast majority of the players on these four squads come from MLS.

Meanwhile, our senior squad has been absolutely diabolically bad.
