Kind of off topic (if we are even on a topic, im not sure), BUT

Are there any AC Milan fans on this board? Been a Milanista since birth, and we are going through QUITEEE the struggle as of late. Wondering if anyone can give me some hope with a positive outlook for the future lol

1) Glad i posted....hahhahaha

2) A little exaggeration on your part, seeing we had UNREAL teams in the 2000's. Including Champions League Titles in '03 and '07. Unless you are a Real Madrid fan, there is no debate

Put the bandwagon trolls on ignore... many of us would like to talk Italian soccer from time to time... I have followed their struggles a bit but don't have a solution on hand for you. My thought is the money is so unbalanced right now many leagues are just struggling regardless of history.

If Onyewu didn't get injured just walking outside at his time in Milan, I suspect this board would have a few Milan fans.

hahahahahaha THANK YOU. I was gonna drop the bandwagon term as well. Bet he's a Liverpool fan.

And you are on point with that. The money in each league, and especially for AC Milan , is extremely unbalanced. There are about 10 teams in the WORLD that have a legit chance to do something. Milan let the Asian ownership come in and F**K THINGS UP BIG TIME. So now we are drowning in debt. Until that is fixed, theres not much chance to compete.

Dont get me started on "Fifa Fair Play" bullshit either lol

Maybe Juventus gets relegated again for match fixing?

Sarri gave them a push with Napoli, so now he's going to manage the Old Lady. Funny how that works.

Nothing is worse than Lazio.

ACM was my favorite Italian club (and probably my 2nd favorite team behind Bayern) when I first started following soccer seriously. This was their starting lineup for the 2005 Champion's League final:

Don't worry, he'll be ready for Qatar...........

John Anthony Brooks (29)
Matt Miazga (27)
Walker Zimmerman (29)
Aaron Long (30)
Ventura Alvarado (30)
Cameron Carter-Vickers (25)
Aaron Trusty (24)

I think the 4 CB’s will come from this group. I think the top 4 are the most likely right now but Vickers has 3.5 years of development in Europe and if he gets his team selections right, then he could improve big time by then. Vickers has been a starting CB with 33 & 35 games in the last two seasons in the championship division in England. I think he’s going to try and stay and win a spot at CB but he’s #5 at CB right now. Anyway, I don’t think Gonzalez will be a part of USA soccer in 3.5 years when he’s already slow. They’ve got enough tall and strong CB’s in Brooks (6’4”), Miazga (6’4”), Zimmerman (6’3”), and Long (6’2”).

ABSOLUTE ALLLL TIMEEEE SQUAD! Such a heart break to lose that lead against Pool in the final. Pirlo himself said he NEVER got over it, even after winning it all in 2007. It still haunted him.

I figured lol. Unfortunately Berhalter seems to be doing what would be considered silly. He’s keeping some veterans around for leadership and examples to the young guys but I find that to be so stupid. One, the USMNT doesn’t exactly have a great last couple of years to use as examples. Two, what could Omar Gonzalez show the young guys as an example that John Anthony Brooks can’t show them. And if you want to say he’s not at this tournament, Matt Miazga has 15 caps and has played in some big games. Aaron Long and Walker Zimmerman aren’t pups. I just think that for better or worse, the US should keep some of the youngsters in camp to help build chemistry and to help them see what the international game is like. I get that you want to keep some veterans but Tim Ream and Omar Gonzalez at the expense of potentially Cameron Carter-Vickers or Antonee Robinson. I hope as qualifying rolls around, Berhalter brings in some of the younger, more talented dudes into the squad and at least let them train. I know you want to win every qualifying game, but Tim Ream is not playing in the 2022 World Cup so you’re wasting time if you think he should play. Same with Omar Gonzalez. Michael Bradley is a tremendous soldier for the USMNT but he’ll be 35 at the World Cup. You have to closely monitor how his game ages and think about if he’ll be good enough to keep in a midfield role (I think the game will be way too fast for a 35yr Old Michael Bradley).

I assume Brooks would be starting if he weren't hurt...
