Sky is reporting Gerrard will take Rangers job.
He's really taking a risk here. His managerial career could be over before it even starts.
I can’t say. I don’t know Rangers current status anymore. Maybe ACamp could expound on it.

Why? Dont they kinda suck? Chance to manage professionals in a live setting. Hope they have reasonable expectations.
As long as he stays above third place Rangers fans should be content ...
Seems like a pretty safe job to me. As long as he stays above third place Rangers fans should be content which doesn't seem too difficult given the league.. If in the event he somehow dethrones Celtic, or even comes close to it, it'll lead to much bigger jobs.
I can safely say there is no group/base in American sports that are remotely as delusional as Ranger fans... it's been surreal coming form an States-side perspective.
You guys laugh but who is gonna finish ahead of them besides Celtic and maybe Aberdeen every year? Celtic has 3 times the budget, but Rangers will have 3 times the budget of everyone else. It's a joke league. Every team in MLS would finish ahead of every team in that league besides Celtic. That's about as safe a bet as you can do if you're Gerrard. He's guaranteed top 3. If he doesn't he deservedly gets canned.

I don't know about the rest of you, but the last few years of El Clasico just haven't done it for me.
t was a lucky break for Rangers that Gerrard makes big career decisions with his stomach rather than his brain, because a dispassionate, logical analysis of what they were offering would conclude that it was quite possibly the worst opportunity in soccer.
The really difficult part of managing Rangers is that Rangers fans still expect to get the better of Celtic even though all the numbers say they can’t. Barring some miraculous financial transformation their situation is essentially hopeless, yet the expectation remains as high as ever.
