The lad is still 21. Tough that he is in the 2nd division now, but hopefully he can get it together. Change of scenery, out of Deutschland.

Where should he go? Germany is generally regarded as a great place for the younger crowd to develop.

Clearly not working for him tho... bring him State side... I'm sure a couple of MLS clubs would give him a shot.... if not, what about Scotland??

Germany is obviously a very good country for developing youth but the proof is that it isn't working out for him. I am a sucker for Portugal and the Netherlands for younger talent. MLS is always an option, and with the current USMNT gaffer, could be a wise move for Julian.

Honestly, anything to get him confidence and a bit more quality of play...

I don't fault him. American Soccer fans and their ridiculous expectations for him? That I fault.

I prefer that Pulisic be left to make his own decisions about where he wants to play and for what club. Leave the kid be. He's not carrying them to a World Cup on his own. They need several more like him, and that starts with development from the ground up.

I agree. But from speaking with a USMNT writer i know, he suggests Julian has a bit of an attitude/arrogance issue that may prevent him from accepting the instruction he needs.

Pulisic obviously thinks Dortmund is in his best interest per his new contract. I love how Dortmund run their club and aren't afraid to inject massive amount of youth in the side. They're like my Spurs, just on a higher level of play (hopefully for only a time).

I am not entirely sure that this is accurate, so correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there something going around that Julian thought he was hot shit since he was at Bayern's academy?

The top clubs tend to have better academies, but the club that a young player is playing academy ball at is a verrrry inconsistent indicator of how successful they will be as senior players.

I have no info on that, but if it's true, I agree with you that he was seriously misinformed about what it means for your future prospects to be in a top club's academy. Lower leagues and top-flight clubs in the bottom half of their league tables are littered with former stars of big-club academies who couldn't cut it. For every Lionel Messi who comes through the academy and makes it big for the big club, there are 50 Bojan Krkics.

Emcee your post made me go look up where Bojan is lol. He's in the Bundeslegia currently on loan from Stoke at Mainz. How did that come to be? I've always thought he kinda got a bad deal when he was on loan at Roma and Milan. I remember his buy back clause was ridiculously high and Barca wouldn't budge so he ended up at Ajax. That seemed to tarnish his value eve further.

It's incredibly frustrating to see how big cubs treat young guys. They sell them and put in very modest buyback clauses.

Yeah, Stoke seemed to be trying to make a name for itself as a renovator of guys who were famous for being talented youngsters but didn't quite pan out: they picked up Bojan and Shaqiri and Ibrahim Afellay, and I did think they were poised to push for the Europa League places. Certainly they were one of the most intriguing teams for me coming in to this Premier League season. But they had an awful start to this season and Mark Hughes shook things up a bit, and there was just no place for Bojan, so he went out on loan. Kind of a hard-luck situation (not to mention career) for him. No question he has some ability.

Its weird, but I have this feeling Dempsey may not have many more starts in him. If Woods wasn't hurt, I would prefer to see him in this line up over Dempsey. It's a new era.

USMNT looks like they are playing Klopp style. Geigenpressing.

And oh look.... Bradley is in his natural deep mid role and everything is flowing great.
