Honestly ND had some really tough breaks go against them.

Now I think replay got all but one call correct. I believe that was a catch and then a fumble by Mack. Which would have setup 3rd and 1. He caught the ball, brought it in spun around and then was stripped.

I am with BK I still havent seen an angle that shows the stripped kick return conclusively out of bounds.

It is just shocking to me how this team showed up to play. Shell-shocked....is that still a term? The big lights, large stage, media attention, all that shit was just too much for this team and that is disappointing coming from an ND camp.

When are we all going to see that this dog Is not our dog... He neg-repped me twice in the middle of a soul-crushing defeat? I am sorry. This puppy needs to be neutered...

It wasn’t conclusive....

I feel like if that call goes our way, we could have gone up 10-3 and then even with Love injured the rest of the half we could still have been in it when he returns, then whatever.

I need a week or so to get here but I think this is right.

Ditto...had chances for this game to be competitive, and an L by 3, 7, or even 10 was in reach. I'm pissed they chose this game to perform like this...coaches and players alike...still, I had no expectation they'd be here in September. The culture though, needs to force guys to play hungrier...getting here was fun, but clearly the team was satisfied with getting here...not fun to watch.

Agree, the two kind of 50/50 tds,... that play and the Nack fumble flipped what was otherwise a fairly even game,... oh well,... happens

I am not sure if you seen this season or not, but there were couple of games where ND played horrible like this. Right of my memory, I believe the game against Pitt and USC was exact like this. We were able to overcome those games because those teams were garbage teams this year. I knew right away after the USC game, if we came to play Clemson like we started the game with USC, we would be in trouble because unlike USC, Clemson is top tier team that would capitalize on our mistakes.

It's Like I said earlier In my life and on this day.
Alabama's weird situation on special teams in 2012 and our fumble recovery tonight changed things dramatically. We may have lost anyway, but our minds wouldn't have been lost over the bullshit. It's amazing how close those 2 special teams plays are in contrast.

Waste of a day watching these pathetic games, uofm vs Florida was good for a half I guess. From the jump we looked sort of flat and then we didnt take advantage of any turnovers and made our own

You can sugarcoat it however you want, but those two, Bama especially, are way above everyone else. We get fired up over "5-star Phil" who wasn't even a 5 star according to most sites. That's how we live. They start all real 5 star guys.

If 5 star means grey shirting and JUCO than yes you are exactly right.
These boys now have an opportunity to play 2 or 3 years plus 4-8 more games in a JUCO.. before going to those minor league programs. It's gonna be tough for us to compete in a world that has no parameters.
Swarbrick stated earlier this week that changes are coming and It's not questionable. I'll believe the talk of change for the good when I see It.

These two games may kill off the calls for an increase to an 8 team play off.

It’s gonna be the same shit show next year until the coaches quit being stubborn and put the best players out on the field. I love finke but he has no business starting, boykin is good but not good enough to compete against the best. You got a guy like Michael young faster than any WR sitting on the pine most of the year, I haven’t seen him since that one long TD middle of season. You got your fastest guys keys and Lenzy sitting on the beach hopefully they get their shot next year

What kind of changes? NCAA changes or ND changes?

Agreed. I’m an advocate for 8, but realizing that the physical difference between Clemson and Bama and everyone else... it’s just shocking. Having 4 more overmatched teams involved would change nothing. College football is truly going through a dark age right now.

Sure...but ND put up some offense in those games. Coaches and players conspired to fail in this game. If ND sustains some drives, and executes early, this game is totally different. By the 3rd Book was hearing footsteps, and so was long. They broke mentally. In games past they hung in and tonight they did not.

Clemson had too many shots at the D...and after the first quarter Clemson's freshman QB never felt any game pressure to execute...he never saw his lead shrink. 0 pucker factor.

If your definition of elite is Clemson/Bama, then probably not. Still better than most teams. Beat some good teams this year and went 12-1. I’ll take that as a good year. Obviously wish it would’ve been competitive today, but we weren’t ready.

Yes, that's elite. Alabama and Clemson. That's who you are going to have to go through to be elite and win titles. Just like it was Miami and Oklahoma in the 1980's. Florida State and Nebraska in the 1990's, etc. We used to be elite and could not only compete with them, we could beat them.

They mentioned some ongoing court cases/litigation.

Swarbrick and that guy interviewing him we're so relaxed and confident looking in that interview. I'll bet Swarbrick has a different deneanor now that his 12-0 team and COY were just prison raped in front of the world again

Hopefully we can close the gap a little bit. Bama and Clemson won’t be able to do this forever.

I bet they tried that with our usually receivers and they didnt get open. Why wouldnt you throw Lenzy or Young out there on a play like that.

Oklahoma just scored and is down by 11 points only after getting blown out the first quarter. This will show that the only team that didnt belong in the playoffs is ND since they couldn't even compete competitively.

They need to just tear it all down and start from scratch. BK obviously isn't the answer here, unless you're content getting annihilated on a national stage. If they have awards for squeeking thru mediocre schedules undefeated then ND would be on top of the world. The play calling tonight was atrocious, the gameplan sucked. Two times on 3rd and long we either ran the ball or threw lifeless screens, that's not okay. People that are over-matched and just got their lunch ate make excuses about the refs, or "if this play would've went out way"...don't you think 2 or 3 plays could've also shifted in their favor? The answer is yes. The bottomline is that we got embarrassed on every level, from the players to the coaches, we got beat before the game started in recruiting and game planning. I, for one, am sick of "next year is the year", and then we recruit the same mediocre 3 and 4 star guys that keep us in the middle of the pack with all of the other teams smelling Bama's direct butthole, nose first.
