Line is moving the wrong way. Just dropped a point to -6.5.

The spread moving doesn’t mean what it used to now that every idiot can place a bet on their phone. Stand alone game, a playoff game, and the public hates ND. Wouldn’t be surprised if it moves further in IUs favor

ND basically covered every game post NIU. Virginia hovered around 21.5/22.5 and VA had a backdoor cover. Similar to Louisville where they were 6.5/7.5 and won by 7. After the NIU lost, public bettors went against ND on the spreads. Sharps also bet against ND on the moneyline most games expecting their win total to fall to 10. Public tends to bet recency bias. Through Freeman's tenure, bad losses against Marshall, NIU, and Stanford had lead the public to bet against ND. Just like everyone on this board after NIU, everyone went against ND and they go off to win 10 straight and basically cover every game.

Currently, the money splits are right where you want them. Sharps have hammered IU on the moneyline swaying the odds. It's a good thing for ND

Spread- 53% IU. 47%ND
Moneyline- 49%IU 51%ND
Total- 51% over/ 49% under

You are right that total number of bets doesn’t mean squat, but the money means quite a bit.

10,000 armchair app bettors picking IU won’t move anything.

A few sharps picking IU certainly will.

I don't think bad weather is an "equalizer." It just hinders a team's passing game, right? If anything it's an "equalizer" that helps us.
Unfortunately not. I have had some great running teams that snow and bad field conditions shut right down. One year we had beaten a team 42-0 during the season. We played them in the playoffs in 8 inches of snow. Our line could not get any traction. Kept slipping all game long and couldn't get a push because of the footing. Our backs were fast and had a big speed advantage over the D, but their slashing/quick style had them slipping all game long when we had creases. Cutback lanes were cancelled out because we kept slipping on our cuts.

I have also learned that slippery field conditions favor WR's over DB's because they know where they are going and can get their feet under them on a cut. DB's are more reactionary and slip more than WR's.

Just my experiences in 25 years of coaching in a bad weather state.

That being said. Here's to hoping our grounds crew has the field 100% clear and not slippery.

In 2013, I went to the Notre Dame-Michigan State game (the one Narduzi hates us for). Flew from Albany, NY to Chicago Friday. Took a rental car to go to our hotel...they overbooked. Ended up having to find a hotel at like 1 am and drove through Chicago...scary lol
