Sad that the Portland Elk - a true icon and part of Portland's cultural history - was taken down out of caution for damage because some antifa started a fire. Brats. An unknown sclupturer put up a make-shift sculpture in downtown.

Some bozos of Patriot Prayer came from Washington with an act that is reminiscent of high school. What fun to get in pickups and steal a "mascot".
Members of Patriot Prayer Stole an Elk Statue Erected by Anti-Fascist Protesters in Downtown Portland

Afterwards, how stupid can you be to cross the state border back into Washington, post on social media, help identify themselves with a photo with their weapons for the FBI Task Force, and feel that it was somehow important. High School. Except in this atmosphere, they even said they wanted to send a message to the Gov and Mayor that they - in camo with semis - could go anywhere and appear where they wanted. They even registered the "nightmare elk" as a Republican. Why not appear in the photo with a Trump flag?

True Patriots.

I agree is was pretty adolescent to steal an Antifa temp sculpture, that was only put there because Antifa was setting fires around the original in the first place. Stealing an Antifa statue however, is better than an anti-fascist laying in wait to kill a far right guy though, right? Which is why the adolescent far right guys stole the antifa statue in the first place. Wouldn't have happened at all though had Anitfa not set fires to the first one, causing it's removal, or them killing a far right idiot, right?

LOL the narratives you try to spin

It's only wrong to use such a term if you're a Conservative. If you continue to point out things like this you will be sent to a reeducation camp. You've been warned.

Republicans in Delaware chose Lauren Witzke, a Q supporter over James DeMartino, a former Marine with 57% of their votes for their Senate candidate. She was a former field operative for Trump in Iowa. Hours after the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Witzke posted a meme featured three Black babies dancing and referred to the justice as "Ruth Vader Ginsburg." Witzke once called herself a "flat earth" person and believe in the deep state and the conspiracy theories of the fringe element. She has been highly critical of the Republican Party officials when they called her meme "reprehensible", "offensive" and "tasteless." and said the post has been "universally condemned" by party members. Witze snapped back that the Delaware GOP and it’s leaders were reprehensible with a "total lack of guts, fight, and courage".

The Delaware Republican voters have spoken that she is the candidate they prefer in the Senate.

DeMartino served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1981 to 2001, where he was a Major working in intelligence. He also served as a Judge Advocate and in civil affairs. DeMartino's professional experience includes working as an attorney. He is involved with the Marine Corps League, the Marine Corps Reserve Association, the American Legion, the National Republican Lawyers Association, the National Rifle Association, the Delaware State Sportsman's Association, Gun Rights of America, and the Republican Party of Delaware.

America's decades long infatuation with anti-intellectualism is alive and well. Its not surprising to me that the same people who are flat-earthers, creationists, chem-trails, climate change deniers and anti-vaxers are also QANON. But in reality QANON is mostly boomers and young white males on 4chan

I mean, it ultimately comes down to the people who have the technical research, data acquisition, analysis and reporting versus an ignorant layman who thinks his opinion has equal value.

A few years ago I tried discussing the 9/11 conspiracy regarding "steel melting from jet fuel" with a poster on this board. As a structural engineer who is very familiar with the chemical, physical properties as well as their material behavior of steel and concrete under stressed conditions, I couldnt get through to the poster. I provided videos of steel yielding and deforming under minimal heat application. I provided mathematical and literature based explanations and the dude was straight fingers in his ears and kept on spouting off the same tired debunked claims. I have zero patience for that. His opinion does not carry the same value as someone with expertise or education, but claiming this makes me seem elitist's which only fuels the anti-intellectualism. He wasnt interested in learning or changing his opinion with new information.

I have had months long discussions on climate change with many posters on the board here. People who have zero idea of carbon sinks or temporal change of CO2 levels iwth the rise of plant life, the timeline of humanity. etc. I mean just basic denial of events that are supported by numerous disciplines... they just outright deny it.

Every year I testify in front of my state school board against changes to the science curriculum which is constantly under attack by creationists and intelligent design proponents. Its frustrating and tiresome to have to constantly fight against people who couldn't care less about the value of scientific evidence and their clear lack of it.

Its scary to me that QANON people could be getting into government.

Don't be obtuse lol. It's not hard to find goofy examples of establishment party types losing primaries to weirdos.

Look at a clown like AOC who has never seen a Democrat policy that's liberal enough for her taking down an INCUMBENT power player in the party. Eric Cantor was the House Majority Leader and lost to a Tea Party guy

The GOP could run the most qualified and dignified Republican candidate of all time in Delaware and it isn't going to matter because they aren't going to win.

I dont view these things as some major indictment of either party. Primaries in non-competitive districts are a laboratory for weirdos. North Dakota's dem nominee for Representative this fall is a 27 year old kid who has no business running a shift at the local McDonald's, much less running for Congress.

Is that a sign of cultural rot within the Dem Party? After all...from the 1980's until 2010, the ND GOP won ZERO races for Congress. Heidi Heitkamp lost the last Democratic hold on power in the state by getting demolished in her bid to keep a seat held by Dems since the 1960's.

Tl;Dr looking at who wins primaries in "safe" districts is not going to tell you much, particularly if the party has been getting crushed there.

If a Qanon type (which 90% of people don't have a clue what that even is) in the Florida senate race or something...THAT would be a sign of something. F'ing Delaware? Nah man lol

Well... its not just 1 but several QANONs running under GOP tickets that have been successful. Im just thankful I haven't seen a Nazi win the GOP nomination this season. #SmallVictories

how many in competitive seats? I think there is a goofy lady running for one in Colorado, can't think of any other competitive ones.. How many people even know what Qanon is? Hard to hold the Qanon label over somebody's head when 90% of people wouldn't know what you were holding there.

Are you equally concerned about the Dem's inability to run normal candidates in a place like ND where Dems have historically actually done well?

I think I understand what you are saying and I agree (the Nazi guy was in Illinois ... but still he got the nod). I think any dem would struggle in a normal +15R district, let alone a conspiracy theorist. I guess green party people struggle nation wide and I cant think of any dem candidate on the level of QANON (there probably is but I am ignorant of them).

Although, in my district, where Joe Cunningham (a very moderate Dem but is characterized as totally lock step with Pelosi and Schumer lol) beat Katie Arrington by 1 point in 2018 to flip the SC01 (Mark Sanford's old seat) and is now leading Nancy Mace by 13 points, demographics could shift. Both Katie and Nancy have gone full Trumper, but its likely SC01 is lost to GOP for the time being. I could forsee it easily being lost to a Dem for many cycles. Hell Jamie Harrision is very possibly capable of unseating Lindsey Grahamov.

Good example. Of the thirty House seats flipped by Dems in '18 but won by Trump in '16, including SC1, only three are considered Toss-Ups. Thirteen are Solid or Likely Dem. Fourteen are Lean Dem.

The biggest flips - Trump won Minn 7 by 30 pts. The District seat went Dem by 1 pt in '18. Maine 2, New York 22, Okla 5 as well as SC1 were all double digit wins for Trump in '16 and flipped by Dems plus all are favored to go Dem. Quite a number of Repub Reps are leaving with Dems expected to take their seats.

Are some here unaware Trump has been making the Q sign, tweeting Q phrases and slogans, and at rallies seeing Q signs among supporters?

QAnon candidates off the top of my head:
Have some not heard of Jo Rae Perkins, is a Q supporter running for Senate in Oregon? Perkins won 49% of the Rep vote in a four candidate primary race. Perkins who on winning told her supporters “Where we go one, we go all” (Q's slogan) – and said, “Thank you anons. Thank you, patriots.”

Not heard of Lauren Boebert running for Rep in Colorado 3?

Or missed Trump's endorsement of Marjorie Taylor Greene in Ga 14 winning 57% of the Rep primary votes? Greene has said: "There's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take this global cabal of Satan-worshiping pedophiles out, and I think we have the president to do it."
Trump sent his congratulations calling her a "rising star" in the Republican Party
Congratulations to future Republican Star Marjorie Taylor Greene on a big Congressional primary win in Georgia against a very tough and smart opponent. Marjorie is strong on everything and never gives up - a real WINNER!
How about Angela Stanton-King for the Rep House candidate in Ga 5 who says BLM is “a major cover up for PEDOPHILIA and HUMAN TRAFFICKING”. She was the only Rep candidate in the primary.

Delaware Reps choosing Witzke over a Marine with twenty years of service in intelligence and Judge Advocate with the memberships I listed is truly a major shift in party voting even regardless of Trump encouragement and endorsement.

Boebert's former aide described the Proud Boys as "pro everything that makes America great." Boebert has said "Everything that I've heard of Q, I hope that this is real. Because it only means that America is getting stronger and better, and people are returning to conservative values."

Witzke's aide was dismissed only when it was learned he scheduled meeting with white supremacist, anti-Semitic and hate group.

Of all those Q candidates, Perkins and Witzke will lose their races for Senate seats. Stanton King is sure to lose in that district - John Lewis' former seat. Taylor Greene will be the first Q follower in Congress. Boebert's primary win in a reliable Republican district (R+6) should make her the second, but her fringe stances may make moderates hesitant.

Check out Pence, Don Jr, Eric attending diffferent fund-raisers hosted by QAnon supporters as well as a video of Trump making the Q sign and saying "the storm is comimg" in the White House at a photo op. The fringe has arrived to welcoming arms. It's just not your father's Republican Party.

Stanton King is a whack job no doubt, but do you mind sharing the source for the bolded above? I don't recall that being her messaging.

BTW, Stanton King was the only GOP in the primary because it was vs John Lewis who would have obviously won had he not died. He went unopposed in prior elections. So it's not like the GOP is really going to put a lot of work into supporting someone they know won't win.

I'd also add that Q followers are nuts IMO. I don't know much about it, but I do know all you have to do to be labeled a Q follower is to tweet something about HRC and Epstein's death, and you're automatically a Q follower. Or simply re-tweeting something unrelated from a known Q follower and you're a Q by association.

Trump's such a liar. At the town hall with questions from Savannah Guthrie tonight, he refused to condemn QAnon. Guthrie asked:
"Can you just, once and for all, state that that is completely not true and just disavow QAnon in its entirety?"

Trump pleaded ignorance, sounding like Sargent Schultz - “I know nothing about it."

“You do know,” Guthrie responded.

Trump: "I know you told me, but what you tell me doesn't necessarily make it fact, I hate to say that. I know nothing about it. I do know they are very much against pedophilia. They fight it very hard. But I know nothing about it."

When Guthrie reminded Trump that QAnon claims that there is a "satanic cult run by the deep state," Trump replied, "I'll tell you what I do know about. I know about antifa. I know about the radical left. I know how violent they are, how vicious they are, and I know how they are burning down cities run by Democrats, not by Republicans."

Video of Trump in White House in October 2017 making the Q sign and repeating their slogan "the calm before the storm".

I wouldn't know who the Proud Boys were, or what Q was if it wasn't for you and others freaking out about them.... It went from not denouncing white supremist (which he's done a bunch of times since 2016) to now denouncing Q which hardly anyone outside of the fringes know.... What does he need to denounce next? Why even ask him stupid shit like that when they won't even pitch a soft ball to Biden. They just stand him up in front of the tee-ball tee.

Holy shit you've officially lost it lmao. This is GI41-esque.

I dont think its particularly surprising that someone as distrustful of the media as President Trump is would not take Samantha Guthrie's word on what Qanon believes.

It is fun to see how worked up some people get when it comes to Donald. Whether he's gone in January or gone in early 2025, I will miss it lol.

He really has proven that our cultural betters in the cities and coasts are just as objectively backwards and dumb as some Boomer Grandma in Idaho who gets her news from Candace Owens and Alex Jones.

I'd never even heard the word Qanon until recently and had no idea what it was until today. After Legacy's post, I looked it up. Big whoop. Just another far out loony conspiracy group. Nothing to get worked up over. There are hundreds like them.

A bunch of schools may get name changes in SF... Including those named after Lincoln, Washington, and Feinstein... Wait a minute. Wut? We better ask Diane if she denounces white supremacy in every press conference for the rest of her career.

lol. San Fran. Bless their hearts. Gotta love them eating their own though.

I'm sure all this effort, and all the name changes, will help Cali's shitty scores though...

This sort of stuff is a huge part of why Conservatives just look at Libs and shake our heads. It's why we don't want the same folks who run places like SF, Chicago, NYC and Detroit in charge of our nation. It's the most pointless, fixes nothing, gagging on a gnat while swallowing a camel, pandering, useless silliness imaginable. It's right there with taking guns from Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam.

California is middle of the road in K-12 education.

Top 5 in University Ed.

I’m not sure what there is to be outraged about?

Middle of the road? You're kidding right... You must be reading some creative journalism.

Here's simple raw #s.

https://www.nationsreportcard.gov/p...hort=1&sub=RED&sj=AL&sfj=NP&st=AP&year=2013R3

In all categories (math, writing, etc) and in all k12 levels, Cali falls in the the category of "performed significantly lower than national public". Check out the individual profile on Cali alone as well.

You're really going to include University Ed bahahahaha....?? The same universities that the overwhelming majority of Cali k12 students can't get into.. Even the Cali universities have been pushing back on state gov's attempt to get rid of SAT and ACT requirements lol... didn't Cali try to create their "own" tests to more or less lower the bar... And in Cali is one of the rare states that allows parents to opt out standardized testing. And isn't Cali a "no time limit" state too. They've been trying to find creative ways to look better for a long time.

By the way, no outrage. Straight up comedy.

God damn coastal elites with their fancy uNIvERsiTY education, all their "CUlTurE" and strong GDP numbers.

I get it, you're trying to be clever adding to an assumed slam dunk... , but Bluto's post was actually a massive fail. That is, if you're able to simply look at data. For a state with such an incredible GPD and high state/local taxes, you would think they wouldn't have such horrific infrastructure, utilities, etc. And one of the highest state/local government debts per capita.

I'd never even heard the word Qanon until recently and had no idea what it was until today. After Legacy's post, I looked it up. Big whoop. Just another far out loony conspiracy group. Nothing to get worked up over. There are hundreds like them.

Yea. It's just the new bright shiny object. I looked it up to. I never would have known JFK was one of the earliest Qanon followers. He had their motto on his boat. And that the military has been Qanon for decades.

I am no fan of Feinstein at all, but removing her name from a school.... lol... And all the shit they're giving her for simply being civilized with Graham. Just all time dumb.

Trump was unaware that the House passed a bipartisan resolution condemning QAnon two weeks ago 371-18? The House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and 145 other Republicans voted to condemn QAnon, including SD's Rep Dusty Johnson.

Roll Call Votes by the U.S. Congress
Condemning QAnon and rejecting the conspiracy theories it promotes

Text:
This resolution condemns QAnon and rejects the conspiracy theories it promotes.

The resolution condemns all other groups and ideologies that contribute to the spread of unfounded conspiracy theories and that encourage Americans to destroy property and attack law enforcement officers.

The resolution encourages federal law enforcement and homeland security agencies to continue to strengthen their focus on preventing violence, threats, harassment, and other criminal activity by extremists motivated by fringe political conspiracy theories.

Finally, the resolution encourages the intelligence community to uncover any foreign support, assistance, or online amplification QAnon receives, as well as any QAnon affiliations, coordination, and contacts with foreign extremist organizations or groups espousing violence.

McCarthy said on Fox News:
“Let me be very clear. There is no place for QAnon in the Republican Party. I do not support it and the candidate you talked about has denounced it."
In July prior to the Ga District's primary and Trump's subsequent lauding of Greene's win, McCarthy's spokesperson said of Greene's comments:
“These comments are appalling, and Leader McCarthy has no tolerance for them."

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) joined in and went further, throwing his weight behind Greene’s opponent.

“The comments made by Ms. Greene are disgusting and don’t reflect the values of equality and decency that make our country great. I will be supporting Dr. Cowan.”

With the vast majority of Republicans condemning Q and the House Republican leaders voicing their condemnation for months, Trump saying about QAnon "I know nothing" seems off the Pinocchio scale. Pathological.

Perhaps we are seeing some senility and he should get our sympathy. For now, it's just pathetic.

He's been retweeting Q conspiracy theories and tweets for years and is chumming up to moneyed donors that support them. F***ing liar. Just come out and say you are Q's and white supremacists' biggest fan.

"I know nothing"

Why do u let Trump get in your psyche? If your party/media would’ve just sat back and let Trump self-destruct, the country would likely have two different nominees instead of the turds we are stuck with in2020.

Trump is his own worst enemy. ANYONE who says something positive about him & he’s reluctant to not give them the benefit of the doubt. But no....the media couldn’t resist and had to meddle enough to give independent voters pause.

Similar to Trumpers who wanted Trump to let Biden hang himself in the debate(but Trump can’t help himself); the media is similar. Had they just gone with straight reporting, Trump would’ve been challenged in the primary or got boat-raced by a decent Dem nominee. But u motherfuckers couldn’t leave well enough alone. Thanks for nothing.
