Good moves. Marmol-smh. I used to love this guy and now... it's just dissapointment. Get your groove back Marmol. Stewart-could care less. Over paid and underperforming.

Agree with all of this.

Marmol's slider used to be nasty, which did make up for the wild pitches, but now he's gotten to be awful.

When I can honestly say that I'd rather see Kevin Gregg close a game, that's ****ing horrible

This move should've been made when he handed the game away against the Braves in April

how can he get pulled before game starts, i feel like scratched would have been more appropriate.

as far as Soriano as a cub: never stood a chance to play up to the compensation but few ever have on the huge contacts. he has been consistently good for them and a professional in every way. def one of my favorite cubs no matter how frustrating he was at times. def will be missed

JUNIOR LAKE!!

yeah he is balling but no reason to get rid of our best player over curse of two years.

reading cubs to eat all 25 mill and only getting low tier pitcher in return. if so what is the point

I've liked everything he has done so far team is better this year by far compared to last but if you get rid of a good player pay his woke remaining salary and only get one single a pitcher i don't know kid better be a stud. I also read players are not happy with trade

Anyways,

So with trading Garza and Soriano, we're basically giving up this year...

Are there any free agent targets at all?

Anyways I really like where we are heading in the future. Loving Rizzo even though his batting average needs to go up, but I think he's promising for the future. Everyone is really bashing on Castro which I don't understand...hes going to be around. Loving this junior lake kid as well and Im really excited about Kris Bryant. We got jeff at pitcher as well. Pitching deff needs to get better. But I really think we have a shot in the next 5 years. YES I SAID IT!!!

Giving up this year? Did you think we had a chance?

Garza had to go but kind of bummed to see Soriano leave, especially if the Cubs are eating the salary. Theo has a plan... I hope.

I'm assuming you mean this offseason. hard saying but we wool mostly need pitching and we usually seem to find our fair share of feldmans, villaneuvas, or guys needing a chance to price themselves one more time.

don't expect us to be fine dealing either.

i think scheirholtz goes for sure then gregg, russell, and navarro are all possibilities

Jacoby Ellsbury

I like Ellsbury but there seems a good chance that all of Olt, Baez, Almora, Bryant and Soler are limited to outfield. That seems to be the one place they won't want to make any long term commitments.

EDIT: and there is another Cuban defector worth watching. He's a pitcher named Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez. His listed age is 26 which makes hima good match for a team like Chicago that is looking toward the future as well as the present.

olt baez and Bryant in outfield????

the cubs just moved alcantara from short to second for baez i dont think you move a stud short stop for a kid who projects to of at major league level

Hope they don't go after any of those guys...all past their primes.

And also with the way the Cubs have been w/ International players this season I wouldn't be shocked if they landed Gonzalez
