Auburn has not had the best weekend. They went from being almost certain they were hiring Sumrall to him leaving them hanging for UF, then had yet another Iron Bowl win (or at least a very good shot at one) snatched away in the final minute. I'm calling and checking on my Auburn friends and offering my heartfelt support. LOL

Again, Ole Miss might genuinely have to be dropped from the playoffs. Its insane.

And honestly, dropping Ole Miss sort of takes a lot of pressure off of the committee to make some hard calls. They can simply slot OM down out of the race, point to a (good and true imo) justification, and work around debates about ND/Miami/Bama/BYU. Solves a lot of headaches.

I think Golesh is a solid hire and honestly at least as good as Sumrall. I like Sumrall a little more than Golesh but I think it's not a bad hire. Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up being the best G5 hire of the cycle.

Yeah....just say where you're going and be done. Hope Ole Miss tells him to pack it in his ass for

Is it crazy that all these other schools have hired or are the process of hiring their HC’s before PSU? That job has been open the longest. There’s a new name attached to the job every 3 days. I’m curious what the back story is there.
Love PSU thinking they’re playing 4D chess and are going to out maneuver all of CFB. Lane Kiffin level narcissism.

Can’t wait for them to be stuck with the old guy no one’s ever heard of because he took his Joe Pa pedo button out of moth balls.

Drunk ass Golding will be the Rebs interim (and maybe future HC?)

That would be like punishing the players on the team twice. First they lose their coach... then they miss the playoffs through no fault of their own. The optics on that would be horrible.

Having said that, I wouldnt mind seeing ND play Ole Miss in round 1.

They penalized FSU for having an undefeated backup QB... If you're missing coaches that's a huge disadvantage. FSU had proof they could win with their backup and still got left hanging

The Dave Doeren experience rolls on for another year at NCSt. Were some thoughts he might hang it up after this season.

Well Ole Miss, if you get engaged to a stripper, you can't be all that surprised and blame anyone else when she gives you herpes, empties your bank account, burns down your house, wrecks your Porsche, and screws your boss and your three best friends. It's what you signed up for.

Well that precedent is already established by the committee over an arguably lesser loss (QB vs HC and half the coaching staff). Many of the players will probably deuce out to Red Stick anyways. It’s a dirty game.

The optics may be horrible, but I think that is likely now. The precedent has been set that if the committee thinks a team is fundamentally different, they won’t include it, regardless of record. That’s almost a lock to happen for Ole Miss now. Sad for them, it that’s where we are at.

And let’s be real, with a defense that made UGAs offense look like 2019 LSU and a talent composite ranking in the 20s, does anyone really think OM is a top 12 team in the country without Kiffin, Weis Jr (the actual playcaller on offense) probably more of their coaching staff and potentially some of their players as well?

I generally find the doomerism around the portal/NIL/realignment ruining college football to be blown out of proportion. This, however, feels like a huge blow for the sport if a coach and players aren't loyal to an 11-1 CFP team and jump ship to join a rival they played earlier in the year.

None of this has anything to do with portal/NIL/realignment. Coaches have been able to come and go as they like for decades. The “adults” have been able to do whatever they want for a while now. They can just do it now with a slightly cleaner conscience, if they ever had one.

Them meddling boosters may eat Golesh alive. Getting a solid DC should be his first order of business. Durkin may be his best shot. He is well liked by the current players.

On a good note, I won’t have to hear the crap from the Tiger faithful for another year. It’s always miserable when they win their Super Bowl… another losing season be damned.
