Honestly…

I think if you’re a program considering making a change right now, you wait—especially if you’re Wiscy or FSU. Clemson is an interesting case, because they probably would move on from Dabo, but they (unless they can beg Tony Elliott to come home) aren’t getting a top tier coach in this cycle.
FSU should definitely wait given their pool will be similar. Clemson should hope Dabo wants out and can have a peaceful transition

I may be lacking some data on this guy. What's the dirt on him beside minor recruiting violations and paying for pleasure? (Question for everybody, since most of the CFB world seems to hate Freeze, which is uncommon for a guy with so little success.)
He lied to recruits about what was being alleged at Ole Miss. I think that's pretty scummy. Used the company phone for escorts, yet is a devout evangelical, sorry, "born again" christian.

Hugh Freeze apologizes for unsolicited DMs to former Liberty student

What was new Auburn coach Hugh Freeze accused of? Sexual misconduct, personal misconduct allegations

Who is Hugh Freeze? Conflicting views of former Ole Miss coach emerge

Katie Dalmasso, 32, said she was an eighth grader at Briarcrest in 1999 when Freeze made her change shirts inside his office after he said her Grateful Dead T-shirt violated school dress code.

“Coach Freeze pulled me in his office and told me that my shirt represented drugs,’’ Dalmasso said. “I said, ‘I’ll go change in the bathroom,’ and when I said that he said, ‘No, you’re going to change in here so I get the (Grateful Dead) shirt and you can’t have it back.’

“He didn’t do anything sexual. But I stood in the corner and faced the wall when I did it and I changed out of my shirt. No privacy.’

Thanks, Yeah, I get it. Normally, I wouldn't judge a guy for hiring an escort (if single or with spousal consent), but if he's a fundamentalist hypocrite, that's different.

I believe her 100%. Not on some "believe all women" either.

I was in an evangelical christian school in the 90s and this is exactly the thought process all of the adult men had.

I have felt like, for years, the hiring of alumni in college or former players in the pros doesn't pay off the way most fans think it will. There are some exceptions here for sure, but to me, I feel like everyone on that list should stay right where they are.
Cleark Lea will be successful anywhere he goes. I think he is just “built different”. But the rest of them, absolutely.

I honestly think Clark would be great at Penn St.. They're non league is trash annually and really only have to beat one maybe two tough games in conference every year.. Hopefully he don't agree

Absolutely crazy how everyone is canning their coach mid-season. They’re all afraid their going to miss on their guy if they wait.

So who does Auburn hire? Freeze obviously wasn't getting the job done, but it's one thing to fire a bad coach and something entirely different to be able to replace him with someone better. This is a bad cycle to be looking for a new HC as there are a lot of schools chasing only a few proven winners. I think LSU and UF will get first pick, with Auburn having to hope they can find a HC in the discount bin that will exceed all expectations. I don't know of any big name they can get. I'm not gonna lie and say I'm sorry to see it happen, but I imagine they're going to have another Chizik/Malzahn/Freeze type hire that they all think is the next legend, but quickly disappoints. Lather, rinse, repeat on The Plains.

I think you would like to hire Sumrall or Key, if someone above you doesn’t already. That’s also including the Ole Miss job, which may have a lower ceiling, but less pressure. I would hire Franklin if possible. If that fails, it becomes Golesh or Schumann IMO.

If he picks y’all off in the Iron Bowl, watch how quickly they hire Durkin.

Alright who is sick enough to subscribe to Football Scoop premium. Implication of the post seems to be what we have discussed here about seeing Kill/Beck/Pavia carry a lot of the success….

They're going to hire Jimbo Fisher. Because they are Auburn.

Sure, he hired a couple of good veteran assistants on the offensive side of the ball and the team got a lot better. He's still the head coach and that matters.
Thing is, Lea can (and should) be very choosy in this cycle. He's hot right now, but he wouldn't be a good fit at LSU or Florida. Penn State? Maybe. Most of the other open jobs are not upgrades. If he continues to succeed there will be more opportunities down the road, if that is what he wants. If he doesn't, he's not getting run off at Vandy any time soon either, and while they probably won't pay $10 million a year, I'm sure he's not gonna starve.

Am I losing my mind, or hasn’t McGuire done a good job there and currently has Tech in the Top 10 and recruiting at a level they never have before?

Blanchard calls the shots on personnel.

A very real chance. Not saying will or won't, but definitely a chance.

The gov has fucked this up really, really badly. He has specifically said they aren't going to pay these big buyouts and he's talking about having the AG review the contract.
Some said Kusher to LSU earlier.

Given the complexity of the situation I’m thinking it’s Whitkoff and Kushner as Co-head coaches and a deal that somehow involves crypto currency and naming rights.

I have a suspicion that LSU is going to make a big push for Freeman at some point this month with Ausberry's dad on the committee and whatnot. Not buying Freeman stays until we get an extension announced.

Pretty sure Mrs Freeman hates the area down there
