Sounds like Belichick didn't have any kind of chance at an NFL job. Evidently burned a lot of bridges and developed a reputation while at New England.

This is going to be an interesting experiment in Chapel Hill.

The Apple TV doc wasn't terribly flattering.

Again, basketball school trying to be good at football. They're going to try something. I still have questions that Sumrall was their first choice, Belichick was second and they hired him, but Rees was the third option.

That's quite a process.

East Tennessee State: Former Charlotte coach Will Healy has accepted the job at East Tennessee State, sources tell 247Sports' Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer. Healy was Georgia State's running backs coach this season after spending the 2023 campaign as UCF's assistant head coach/senior offensive analyst.

Utah, Washington State: Utah is set to hire Washington State running backs coach and associate head coach Mark Atuaia as the Utes' running backs coach, sources tell Zenitz. Atuaia, who worked at Virginia before Washington State, helped Wazzu rank 11th nationally in scoring offense this year.

I know Bill's been away from the college game for decades, but he can clearly still recruit young college talent.

If Patricia is DC, what is Bill’s son and head-coach-in-waiting going to do on this staff?

I dunno. Maybe I remember too much of the Charlie Weis Experience, but I’m skeptical that trying to recreate the Patriots at UNC will go especially well. College coaches need to push different buttons than NFL coaches.

Have some self respect and respect for the game, ride off into the sunset and make some room for the young up and comers.

I mean isn’t that what’s happening. Mullen to UNLV and these NFL retirees to warm basketball school. Both sound like retirement plans to me
