He took the Syracuse job but did a Manny Diaz and went to Mississippi State instead prior to 2020. In 2021 he had interviewed with Oregon, Texas and LSU for their DC jobs but stayed at MSU.

Runs the 3-3-5 since he coached at SDSU under Rocky Long.

Good decision in light of the circumstances. Hopefully they give him some runway.

Expecting a lot more of this to retain players especially from upper middle pack schools like UNC. Maye just had more value than Longo.

Possible. Time will tell. I think he gets a little more exposure going from UNC to Wisconsin. We'll see.

It's a very good hire. He played for The Pirate and has coached under some of The Pirate's proteges. They won't have to overhaul much of Brohm's personnel, if any.

Purdue has hired Drew Brees to be an assistant for the bowl game. Obviously a PR move, but he might come in handy working with the QB's since O'Donnell isn't going to play.

The word is that guy mostly cribs stuff off message boards and tweets it as his own news. He's also clearly a Notre Dame fan, FWIW.

That said, Harbaugh jumping to the NFL, after all the drama last season, would be an all-time Harbaugh move. Sure could happen.

Navy has promoted defensive coordinator Brian Newberry to head coach and an announcement is expected soon, reports ESPN's Pete Thamel.

UCF defensive coordinator Travis Williams is finalizing a deal to become Arkansas' DC. Both UCF coordinators now poached out.

New Mexico defensive coordinator Rocky Long, 72, has been hired as Syracuse's defensive coordinator.
