Gotta love Clemson jumping to the Top 10 after that win.

QB in his 2nd start, in their "Death Valley", in a monsoon, had 4 turnovers, countless dropped balls, and still had 2 chances to win the game. Lol.

Can't win with all of the turnovers

BK clearly outcoached Dabo. If Robinson would have caught the call, we won't have won by one. I don't fault BK for anything in that game actually. We had a chance to tie a game we should have lost big time.

Clemson fans are talking about how Dabo played not to lose and a crappy coach. That is actually way more applicable than BK crapping the bed.

Our team played hard.

Dabo did play not to lose. But he's not a crappy coach. He coached the hell out of BK the first two possessions. BK outcoached him on balance the rest of the way. Turned out two possessions (and four turnovers) were enough to win.
We don't always, but we've come out flat for a number of big road games in the last few years. I don't know why, but it's a problem.

That said, what we showed last night is we can win every game left on our schedule. We won't play a tougher game than one - between the weather, the opponent, the crowd, the bad start - and we came back to where we really should have at least forced OT. Of course I would've said the same thing after FSU last year. Next two weeks are huge.

My postgame observations:

1. Hard to play catch up with 4 turnover's and ND not taking care of the ball
2. Makes it frustrating when you have dropped balls by your veteran WR's.
3. No run game period. ND should've passed more and started to pass more early in the game. Your recipe to beat Clemson: pass the ball.
4. I love the adjustments the whole team made. ND started off slow on both offense & defense, and in the second half it was ALL ND. The Clemson crowd was only loud when ND had the ball, our defense even took the crowd out of it.
5. Kizer gets better and better each week, I love this kid's confidence.
6. Will Fuller: 2 catches for 37 yards-- unacceptable.
7. If I am the ND coach and I have a game today, I am penciling in Chris Brown over Corey Robinson and for the rest of the season.
8. Play calling WAS NOT A PROBLEM what games were you watching?
9. I agree with the call for the 2 pt. conversion. Clemson was expecting a pass. The player we missed in our running game was Tyler Luatua.
10. I am going to say this until it happens, please put CJ Sanders on offense.
BONUS-- ND beat ND, Clemson didn't.

I think ND should remain in the top 10. Look at the teams who lost yesterday in the top 10 vs. ND.

A 11-1 team will make it to the playoffs and a 10-2 team is stretching it. This team plays with heart.

Time to move forward and onto Navy. Go Irish!!

I'm happy with #15. We really haven't proven anything yet. We still control our own destiny IMO.

I agree with this. Better to loose early in the season than late. We are still definitely in it. Hopefully, Clemson can do well going forward. Personally, I don't think there are going to be many 0-1 loss team by the time the committee has to make a decision.

Once again a flat team from the start. Which had to end with a comeback. I wish we had more players that stopped talking and more that just played. I'm tired about hearing how good you are and not seeing it. Defense was garbage early, and offense was terrible the whole game. Starting with the OL. I really want to watch a dominate unit, be exactly that, dominate. Not turn up bitch when you get punched in the mouth. I love my team but damn that was not a good performance early which led to the loss.

It was fairly apparent that we were the better team and couldn't win the FIng game, again. That is the worst part about this game.

Completely agree. My point wasnt that we deserve to still be Top 10, it's that Clemson doesn't either. A Top 10 team like an Alabama, TCU, etc. would have buried us last night when we turned it over 4 times.

If at the end of the season we go 11-1 and miss out on the Final 4 playoffs then it's not a huge deal in my opinion. And if we were going to go 11-1 this season then losing on the road to Clemson in a moonsoon was the game i'd choose to lose.

Beat the heck out of Navy next week and have no injuries. Have Luatana and Sebastian healthy for USC the following week and beat the heck out of them, too.

What we really want is USC and Stanford to run the table except against us. That pretty much makes us Pac-10 champions. I can't determine whether i want Clemson to run the table or two have 2 losses.

To me this season was about finding a way to get at minimum 11 wins including the bowl game. Anything more than that is gravy. This is still within our reach.

I agree 100% LL.

True story... I was in a Huddle House at 2:30 am in Anderson last night after the game.. it was full of Clemson fans . The tables around us were full of people saying the exact opposite. ND just isn't good. ND OL sucked. Kizer sucks. That vaunted ND Running game got shut down, ND could not handle the physicality of Clemson. Watson should be a Heisman candidate. It was hard to sit there and not say anything. Lol. Basically they said everything that was a talking point against ND ever.

They thought they beat us down. I heard beating several times. They did not give us a beating. We beat ourselves last night. Clemson looked like garbage for 3/4 of the game.

LOL Watson blows. I stick by my pregame analysis on him, Devin Gardner 2.0.

That's your opinion. They didn't call a real pass play since the first snap of fourth quarter.

How did Dabo coach the 'hell' out of the first two possessions? They had a short field on their first touch down and our defense didn't even have a chance to catch their breath.

Alabama didn't have a hard time getting up fort heir game today AT Georgia!

No but they had a hard time getting up for a home game against Ole Miss who gave them their only loss of the regular season last year. Played pretty much like we did with 5 turnovers and bad tackling. All teams go through it. How they rebound is the difference.

He didn't. They out-executed us on their touchdown drives, but not really any other time the rest of the night

I woke up so sad this morning. I really hope they play with a fire under their butt for the rest of the year

Because once again we choked. Big game, big stage, and we weren't prepared for it. I watched the game with multiple non ND fans and ALL said we were the better team, yet we didn't win. So what gives?

DeShone Kizer 19/34 321 2 1 56.8

Deshaun Watson 11/22 97 2 1 65.2

This is the tell-tale stat of the game for me. We got down early and as a result needed to throw the ball and the conditions just weren't good for that. A ton of Kizer's yardage came in the 4th quarter when Clemson basically opted to go into prevent and forced us to make the mistakes.

On a side note, what sort of messed up QB rating system has Watson higher?

To Kizer's credit, we dropped balls like it was the thing to do. However he missed reads like crazy last night. I love the hype we created going into last night and once again reality sets in. Just not that good of a QB at this moment. But keep in mind, he's the savior

I am curious about where the hype train is?

Because those that wanted to sit back and wait for these well wishes to come to fruition were poo pood on.

They played well enough but made critical mistakes... It's deflating because this team is so talented in comparison to the last 20 years of ND football but they still just can't win big games..... So the end result still hasn't improved,... Snake bit with injuries, bad coaching, poor play, whatever you put it on, the end result hasn't gotten much better... Idk what it's going to take to finally get over the hump but there always seems to be something holding the program back...

You seem to be taking this loss very hard. I get it, ND played poorly last night. ND was the better team and still managed to lose, agreed. Kizer could have played a better game, ok (though to be fair it was his road game in a crazy downpour against a pretty good team). It is one game, the season is not over.

Also, of course I am. This was the best talent we've had in years. That's from our coach, NFL scouts, and everybody else. However, once again we don't win.

It all depends on how the season plays out. If they go into the tank then you are correct, but if they finish 10-2 then it is an improvement. People forget that Lou and Ara also would lose some head scratches.

It's the first loss of the season. Did you honestly think that this team was going to go undefeated?

When was last time you competed at anything? Did you honestly believe you'd lose?

Now last kind of competitor versus spectator conversation but I'm sure I was told by the coach this was the most talented team he's coached and deepest. If we can't win with that, then yes this is upsetting. Also, considering Clemson is no that good.

What an awful sports weekend for me, Angels eliminated, ND and Dortmund lose their biggest games of the year and my two NFL teams are playing each other so either way it's bitter sweet... At least Celtic won I guess...

The Irish program just doesn't seem to have a defined identity. A pass first offense? A power run team? An aggressive defense? Comes down to each person having to do their job better. Just seems to me there is no defined direction that the whole team is moving towards. Once the Irish defines what that is, they could be very good given the talent they have.
