LaRussa should be done for good. He should never manage a game for the White Sox ever again. Fingers crossed.

Four games back in the loss column. Four games left with Cleveland. In a tie, there is non 163rd game and it goes head to head. Probably too little too late because they played with their food for four months, but a healthy team minus LaRussa next year with some tweaks should be able to win this division. There really are no excuses.

Some type of offseason conditioning needs examined, too. All these dudes were doughy and brittle this year.
Really like this young Cleveland team. They will give your boys all they can handle next year.

Your relationship with coaches was another issue. Most staffs today are highly collaborative. Your style is far more autonomous. Some coaches were OK with that, I’m told. Others were not. Your emphasis on hits and contact ran counter to the hitting coaches’ goals for achieving power through patience. Cairo cited his respect for you in explaining why he refrained from calling out the team sooner; clearly, he did not feel empowered to take a stand

Scathing. Didn't hold back on this.

Kenny Williams, Rick Hahn and Tony LaRussa should all be gone.

Williams and Hahn are one of the longest tenured front offices in MLB right now and they have had next to no success. It's a complete disgrace.

Cleveland Baseball Twitter is getting more likes from White Sox fans than anywhere else.

I hope the Guardians dunk on them hard and keep rubbing their faces in it.

I think this is the last straw for a lot of CWS fans, and for good reason. Other than 2020, this is the first season that I haven't attended a single game in my adult life.

Same. I’m not generally a “I won’t spend my hard earned money…” type of fan. But I’ve had it. Either they make changes or I’ll get my baseball fix at FW TinCaps games (which is a pretty solid experience) for the near future.

Jerry Reinsdorf gave the wheel of the Bulls to his son Michael. Changes were sweeping and immediate. The Jerry loyalists (John Paxson, Gar Foreman, etc.) were removed from the front office. Competent people were brought in to run the basketball. The Bulls turned things around quickly.

A similar reset needs to happen with the White Sox. Kenny Williams and Rick Hahn have done nothing to have earned staying in their roles right now. The problem is with Jerry's sweet stadium deal and ticket sales having gone up in 2021 and 2022 post vaccine, he's getting his investors a return on the White Sox right now. So winning will continue to be down the list of priorities.

There isn't much hope to be had if they continue on, which they will, like they are. LaRussa will get a position created for him, Kenny and Rick will stay and they'll just give Miguel Cairo the manager job or hire AJ Pierzynski, which for me would be the end. I'd find another MLB team to support at that point. I can see hiring Cairo because it's long hanging fruit, but hiring Pierzynski is an insult to a portion of their fan base that knows better. I want to win in a winnable division. I don't want to see AJ come out and tip his hat 81 times to remind me of the 2005 season. He's not qualified and I don't care about nostalgia.

Something tells me that's exactly what they're planning.

White Sox Twitter is enjoying this more than Cleveland fans.

They deserve every ounce of trolling they get. Dunk and dunk hard.

Hearing some of the early names for manager include Mike Shildt, Bruce Bochy, Willie Harris, AJ Hinch, Curtis Granderson and Joe Maddon.

Outside of Hinch, that is terribly uninspiring, and Hinch is highly unlikely now considering that's who Rick Hahn wanted in the first place but had LaRussa forced on him. Shildt, Bochy and Maddon are all retreads. Harris was on the 2005 World Series team and has been third base coach for the Cubs for a year. Granderson just retired. Only connection I can muster is he is from Blue Island, IL and played college ball at UIC.

Not a serious franchise at all.

At the very least, Granderson could atone for his years of being a Sox killer.

Willie Harris looks weird in blue on the northside.

Out of these names I think I’d prefer Shildt…but if Granderson can surround himself with a good staff, his name intrigues me the most.

Granderson had more plate appearances in his career against the White Sox than any other team (469). 14 HR with a slash of 231/300/405/705. It's not enough to warrant them handing him the manager job.

Harris played more games for the Nationals than the White Sox. Let them miss him.

Buyer beware with Shildt. He was a lifelong Cardinal staffer and was let go with a year left on his contract for "philisophical differences." I don't think he's gotten over being let go. Baggage.

I think the list overall is a pile of garbage other than Hinch, who probably isn't plausible, and I believe it's the direction they're going. They're going to find some former player like Geoff Blum or AJ Pierzynski or a retread Christmas Past. I almost feel like just giving it to Cairo is the safest bet for them not to fuck it up.

I've been pretty steadfast on these guys for the last couple of years. I hope they all get a shot but I doubt the Sox even interview any of them. I just think Alomar is waiting for the Guardians job when Tito retires.

Matt Quatraro Rays
Luis Urueta D Backs
Joe Espada Astros
Carlos Mendoza Yankees
Sandy Alomar Jr. Guardians

Sox have some big decisions coming up with Abreu, and the DH/1B situation. I personally would resign him, he's too valuable and consistent if you look at his numbers every year after April. If Moncadas salary wasn't so absurd the next few years, I think he would be traded, but no one is taking on that kind of contract with a guy who hasn't lasted a whole season, and misses home. I think Giolito gets traded this offseason as well. Need another starter or 2, need an actual left handed every day outfielder. I hope Grandal gets axed too, and they actually bring in a defensive catcher who is average at the plate to get the job done, but call a good game, and hold runners. We can't hold anyone on base. So much to change.

Agree on keeping Abreu. Everyone else is on the table. Don't care if it's Andrew Vaughn, Moncada, etc.

Likely looking at yet another Opening Day second baseman too. Seems like that's been a revolving door now for 7-8 years?

The conditioning of certain indviduals and the team overall needs a serious overhaul too.

My hope is Oscar Colas is brought up and starts in RF next year. He can't do much worse.

Good point.. I have been saying for 2 years, what the hell is going on with the training/trainer with this team. So many hamstrings, groin pulls etc.. At some point that is training or a lack there of when it is happening over and over again.

I really would like to see Vaughn staying here. Everyone else I am fine with outside of Robert and Cease.

I honestly think the team wins more games under Ricky, and that's saying something. He at least preached fundamentals and hustle..

Need an identity change. Like the Twins and Cleveland always seem to be. Fundamentally sound. Cleveland lead the league on moving players from 1st to 3rd on hits.. Sox need to be more aggressive and smarter on the paths. Also, take a pitch once in a while. Our walk numbers are atrocious.

I think Colas breaks camp with the team as well. Guys a talent.

Tony LaRussa made the point of emphasis this year making contact at the plate. So hitting singles. It's pretty much what they did. And nothing else.

They hit 190 HR last year as a team and as of today have 144. Ball go far, team go far.

OBP last year was .336, third in baseball. This year, .313 for 17th.

Avoiding outs, getting on base, scoring runs is the name of the game. This franchise seems stuck in the previous century and has not embraced what teams are doing today. It shows when you consider how little they have won in their history. They've never been to the postseason in back to back years. Don't count whatever 2020 was.

One of baseball's oldest franchises has never been to the playoffs two years in a row. So yeah, let's hire a bunch of former players who never experienced sustained success to run the team.

Technically they were in the playoffs 2020 and 2021, shortened season but they were in.

2020 wasn't a full season. they have never been to the playoffs back to back before in an era of 154 or 162 games. Period. Don't let them off the hook in any way.

I'm sure the bush league gaslighting front office will tell you otherwise about 2020 and 2021, but they can only fool a certain segment of the fanbase, and that segment has really started to shrink over the years.

Sox fans are done with this regime. Nothing has changed and the results stay the same.

Cease was lights out. Probably would have made the playoffs this year, despite the dysfunction in the front office, if they re-signed Rodon.

Honestly think if Sox trade vaughn package Giolito with him and then try and sign another starting pitcher.

I don't think Rodon alone gets them there. His K/9 went down and his BB/9 went up this past year, but his WAR is still better than any starter on this year's Sox including Cease. He had career highs in games started and innings pitched. Based on his history I doubt anyone saw that coming based on analytics or eyeballs alike.

They didn't even make a qualfied offer for him to reject, and he would have based on what SF offered him, which would have gotten them a draft pick. They let him walk for absolutely nothing.

WAY too many performances dropped off from 2021 and their depth was complete crap. Too many 1B/DH running around in the outfield. Missing Rodon was one spoke in the wheel that fell off.

The fact this is even being discussed shows you how stupid this franchise is.

Ozzie is currently the favorite but Bruce Bochy, Sandy Alomar and Joe Girardi are the likeliest to be considered smart choice unless you want to include Willie Harris and AJ. as options due to their baseball history with the Sox and Jerry
