Cool beans. The more apt conclusion to reach is that the Bears (and their dedicated media) enjoy finding new ways to justify mediocrity, and the diehards lap it up. Enjoy!
That's an odd and ignorant conclusion you've drawn for yourself.
I haven't seen any Bears fans saying that this is a slam dunk and we're SB bound, but I think you really need to evaluate what Waldron accomplished in Seattle.
That team was expected to SUCK on offense. The fact that Waldron got what he got out of the Seahawks, despite having an absolute dogsh*t OL riddled by injuries and Geno f*cking Smith at QB is nothing short of a miracle. He also has experience working under Belichick, Carroll and McVay, three of the best coaches of the past decade and a half.
Lazor, the most experienced OC the Bears have had in over a decade, had failed stints in Cincinnati and Miami, and that's about it.
Waldron may not be the offensive wunderkind, but there's no denying it's FAR better than what they've had as OC over the past 15 years.
