This is why Fields is on track to fail.

What has Luke Getsy done to warrant being in the position he's in?

That one year of collegiate experience means nothing, because he didn't call plays at MSU. Moorhead did.

So he came to Chicago with effectively ZERO play calling experience at either level. He also spent the previous 3 years coaching QB's in Green Bay. So effectively holding a clipboard and telling Aaron Rodgers he's great. He's never had to actually coach and develop a QB, because Rodgers was already one of the best.

It's absolutely maddening that the Bears continue to go after offensive coaches with next to no offensive experience like they're going to drunkenly stumble into the next Sean McVay. You have a defensive head coach, and the bright idea is that give him an offensive coordinator who effectively has no experience coordinating, play calling or coach/developing QBs?

This is why the Bears haven't had a legitimately good QB in decades.

He was QB coach for Green Bay for three years. Which basically meant stay out of LaFleur and Rodgers' way.

Again, I don't know what Fields is or isn't, but I can tell you that the coaching staff leaves an incredible amount left to be desired. They've not shown any improvement from last year and they have a better roster than they finished the season with. I know the OL is banged up already and what they have out there isn't great, but at least with Fields...you have to at least try to do what your guys are good at. They have gone completely away from the things Fields can do and have done it on purpose.

I didn't think the White Sox three-ring circus could be topped, but the Bears just said "hold my beer" and managed to top it in the matter of 2 weeks!

I don't think fields is the problem. You aren't using fields properly and you have one of the worst OL's in the league blocking for him. If I'm the Bears you trade the first pick if you have it for a ransom because someone will overpay for Williams, draft Harrison with your other first round pick and take a OL with your high second round pick. They traded one of their 2nd round picks for Claypool and coulda drafted 3-4 other guards who are starting now for teams.

Owners of the first two 2024 Draft picks currently.

Wow.
If Chicago somehow comes away with the top two overall picks, this would be amazing for Poles (or whoever the GM is if Kevin Warren decides to completely clean house). Sell that 2nd overall pick for a bigger ransom than last year's haul and get a ton of talent, something this team is sorely lacking, even if the coaching is so awful that it's hard to tell.
