I don’t want to beat a dead horse, but really can’t state how bad Garrett was tonight. It was third and thirteen from maybe the BYU 45 and he said “punting on fourth here is a win for the Irish”, when Mayer promptly caught a ball for 18. That statement is maybe true in the pro game, but it’s not in college. NBC really screwed up giving him this job. He should be color on Panthers vs Vikings type games that no one watches.

I hate the way NBC is using Notre Dame Saturday as a stepping stone to break in new announcers.
To go from Tirico to this is embarrassing.

Liafau is just not getting it done. He cannot recognize where a play is going until its already there, so all he does is chase people down. Not sure if more playing time is going to solve things.
We might not have another game except Navy where you play 3 LBs. The 4-2-5 is becoming the standard aline ment vs teams that go with 3 wr's. But we don't even have 2. Not sure what happened to Bauer but he barely plays and isn't good when he does.
So I guess I'm board with giving Kollie or Jr a shot.

Drew is making huge strides, I just wish he would start looking at other players besides just keying on 87 every play.

I hated hearing Garrett say over and over on national tv that the Irish don’t use their wide receivers. Not a great recruiting pitch.

Thomas stepped up and had a really nice game, but honestly our WR room isn't superb and until this game it was really just Styles that was consistently getting open. Can't blame Pyne for going to our best weapon in Mayer when defenses can't cover him and other guys aren't open often.

Crazy Stat I saw on 247.


Since 2010, ND Has run for 200 yards 57 games, (59 now) we’ve only lost 5 times giving us a winning percentage of .912 (that is ridiculous).


4 out of 5 of those losses were under Van Gorder's inept defense.

Meaning if we run for 200 yards... we win 99.02 percent of the time if we don't have Brian Van Gorder as a DC.

Been calling for Pyne since '21!

Really though, a lot of QBs could generate offense behind this OL. We still had a few miscommunications, but Drew had a lot of time back there today and Mayer was able to get open on two big 3rd down conversions. We knew once the OL gelled we'd be able to put some points on the board. I want to see what Buchner can do behind this OL, but I'm always going to support whoever is under center for ND regardless.

That was a good win.

Yeah we should have closed better inside the five a couple times, and made a couple of stops that we didn't, and if we had it wouldn't have been uncomfortably close, but BYU is a tough, veteran team, and tonight we were tougher. After the Marshall game the notion of being 3-2 with a clear shot at 6-2 felt like too much to hope for, but here we are.

Agree with those who say we should move on from Bertrand. Feel the same about Lenzy (where is Colzie?). But our lines, both sides of the ball, are really starting to play well, our DBs are better than expected, the RBs are tremendous, Pyne is a ballplayer, Mayer is Mayer. I like this team. We'll drop one or two more because our offense is so so fragile, but this is a fun group to get behind, and good things ahead.
