A more reasonable discussion would be centered around what would it take for Bran kelly to actually be let go. He is 4 games into a new 6 year contract that takes him into 2021. I'm not sure what the Salary is, seeing reports of anywhere from $1.2 to $4 million. Its not as big the Weis contract, but might be comparable to what was owed Weiss when he was let go.

I'd say ND would have to go 3-9 or worse, matching the worse season in history, for the University to serious contemplate letting Kelly go. I'm not saying that what it would take for me to change my position on him, but for ND to change theirs.

I've been "throwing a tantrum" for a year now. Not calling anyone names, not "yelling" and certainly not being passive aggressive. I'm 100% aggressively saying BK should be gone and anyone who disagrees is wrong.

You're schtick of being the guy that criticizes others for overreacting is stale. No one is overreacting. This is the worst loss I have seen since Navy or USF.

If you had posted any of this in one of the ten fucking threads that already existed discussing this exact fucking point I'd be agreeing with you. I'm pissed off. I'm just tired of logging on this site and seeing that another "community leader" had posted another thread for trolls and the local douchebags to crop up.

Honestly, after last week I swore I wouldn't watch another ND game until BVGs taint of this program was finished. I will look at the scores on yahoo for all the games played but no more watching. Because I know the wins which should be convincing wins, will be squeak by wins and the losses, to mediocre teams, will be many.

And to be honest, I'm at such peace. After the MSU game, I was fussing and grumbling. My wife was asking me why I was allowing myself in such a dark mood. And I finally came to a conclusion, BK doesn't DESERVE my loyalty as long as the idiot does things this way. This is HIS mess that HE made from hiring his pass associates instead of going and getting decent coaches.

So until BVG is gone, ND football has one less supporter. I wont support nor watch any other team but my blind loyalty to a program that is cutting its own throat is done.

Wooly--what exactly is knee jerk about ME starting a thread like this? I am the poster boy for being critical of BK.

What do you want us to talk about the rest of this season? This is it. This is the only conversation that needs to be had the rest of the way. We are all die hard fans of this team and if you aren't cool with us talking about firing a coach with this performance I honestly don't know what you want out of a Notre Dame football board.

Not sure how anyone can defend BK. We just lost to Duke. In ND Stadium. He got his turf, his jumbotron, his special uniforms, his more lenient restriction on admitting athletes. And we're losing to Duke. Not complaining about all that stuff above, but there's no excuses left. We have academic problems every year, we've had scandals every year, we've had arrests every year... and that's not even getting started on the product on the field. It's over. This season is going to set the program back 5 years until it can be rebuilt again.

Yeah. Clearly the offensive players are playing tight also, because they cannot trust the defense. McGlinchey mentioned that this week that the first three games he was playing tight and not having fun.

You do realize that this is a ND football board and the team is currently 1-3 with losses against Duke, MSU, and Texas. Three mediocre to bad teams. Not sure what you expect the reaction to be.

Haven't read through the thread, just posting my thoughts:

The issue lays with BVG. He needs to go immediately. Not the end of the season. Why delay the inevitable? Let someone else come in and get a jump start on salvaging this class. Its just never going to work.

BK- my confidence in him is completely faded. I think he's been good, got us out of the gutter. But the ceiling has been reached. His flaws have been made well known over his tenure. Recruiting, playing time philosophy with the younger guys, too loyal to assistants, in game questionable play calling.... A lot needs to change. He's made us a more appealing destination than when we got him, now lets take it to the next level

My honest opinion is that Kelly is a top 15 coach in the college ranks. Now you can question whether a top 15 coach is good enough for ND andthats fair. I just believe, unfortunately he made one destructive decision to hire BVG. Thats a decision that will set this program back 4 years... hopefully only 4: the 3 that he has been here for and the year itll take for a new D cordinator to fix this awful excuse of a defense. With even an average defense, this is a 10 win team and thats what I expect him to do going forward.

He is the one who hired this staff. Same mistakes weeks after week. Blown assignments, poor fundamentals, poor technique. Team has no fire and is mentally weak. That starts with Kelly. Team is 13-11 since the FSU game in '14. There is no way this team has 1-3 talent with this schedule.
