Playoffs. It’s one bad game. The team will learn from this. That’s what the great ones do. They don’t sulk and pout. They learn. Our team is great, and they will learn. The game against Bama would be much different then yesterday

It would only be different because Bama won’t take their foot off the gas to prop ND up to the committee like Dabo did....

This is why you have to try to bring a 5 star or two home. And then you have to have more than 2 or 3 other top 100. Those are the difference makers. They have to figure a way to do it. And there are players that will.

I agree that history will say "they made it to the CFP", but that's 20+ years down the road win folks forget we got beat downs. The next 10 years, getting smoke twice after being "#2", will just add more energy to the overrated attitude that has existed since our last Bama game.

It certainly hurts. But when you look at the other big brands like Texas/USC/Michigan/Penn State and they haven't as much sniffed a chance at the playoff? People aren't asking "is ND back?!?" anymore, its whether they can compete with the juggernauts. Much rather be in that discussion than in the sad sack discussion with the teams previously mentioned.

This is correct. I’m having a hard time understanding why our fans are so soft. It’s better to EARN a shot and take it, than back down like a punk. I’m all in on playing the best. I really don’t care if some dork from PSU or Michigan taunts us for losing in the playoff. Their programs would absolutely trade with our recent success. We are in the conversation. ND matters right now and we’re in the mix an awful lot lately. That matters to recruits as well.

Right? Its easier to sell to a kid "Hey, come be the solution to the final piece." rather than "Hey, we're the team your dad loved! Don't mind us being 8-4, that'll hopefully change and maybe we can get a Papa John's bowl win!".

My next door neighbor is an IU alum. He's been saying since the PSU victory how much fun an IU/ND bowl game would be. I think he genuinely believes they would have a shot.

Alabama’s speed will kill us. But we also match well against a less mobile QB.

I think we lost in a tough way to a team that was motivated to beat us and has the best quarterback in the country. We blew some early opportunities that maybe change the outcome a bit. You have to get in the ring for a chance to knock out the champ. Let’s go!!

I'd love IU, but not for the same reason. I'm ND first, but IU 2nd. Love both. Would be fun. Play it at LOS.

I'm an IU second guy too, but you can only hear so much nonsense about IU football.
