O'Leary lied on his resume for every job.

Notre Dame is one of the best jobs in the country. Now that people have seen that you can really win and get recruits in there, and that the facility and strength weaknesses are no more...there will be a line from South Bend to ****ing Mississippi full of coaches who want the job.

I agree with you Buster.

This type of thing could start a domino affect with recruits leaving even if he doesn't leave. I know none have left yet but this sure the hell isnt locking them down. I wish this $@:t could have at least waited till after signing day. If he does bail I like Dabo Swinney might be tough to swing from Clemson but it would be worth a shot. Strong @ Louisville or Kirby Smart would be good options. Hopefully this won't drag out long. I pray it doesn't.

I know ND probably isn't in the business of hiring first-time head coaches, but what about just promoting Diaco? I think if Diaco became head coach and the staff stayed in place there would be minimal turnover in the recruiting department and, although this move would be a major setback, it wouldn't necessarily mean death to the program.

GERRY FAUST ANYONE????

NO THANKS.

DIACO is nowhere near ready.

Diaco is in over his head at DC, at the elite level.

I am absolutely floored by this. He gets his arse kicked in the championship game and then considers skipping town? WOW.

Every since Grand Valley, Kelly hasn't stayed at any place more than 3 years.

What we know about #NotreDame HC Brian Kelly interviewing with the Eagles, potential implications ($): http://bit.ly/RGXk8C

I don't normally post premium links, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

They have 1 source that said he would be surprised if it was more than a negotiating ploy, and another that thinks they are working on a new deal at ND already.

Good news if true, but still terrible, terrible timing in regards to the EE's

Every first-time coach is Bob Davie? Or is it just because they share first names and initials? What about Muschamp's experience?
No that they were both Defensive cordinators at Notre Dame and also good at their job. They both are good recruiters, yes Bob Davie as the DC pulled a ton of talent from Texas. Also, they would be first time HC.

Lol now I have to root for Lovie Smith to get the Eagles job. Great.

You're doing God's work, son.

But really Kelly? You have a chance to start a new dynasty at Notre Dame and you leave when Jack is ready to give you anything you wanted???

Lovie Smith was the big name being brought up with the Eagles earlier. The BK talk is news to me.

@Michael Deeb:

Just let it go. All the anger and remorse built up: let it go. Don't hold onto the negative. Embrace the positive and move forward.

Not sure what he is refering to but regardless seems like he has the right mindset for this situation.

Thanks Ironman.

And I share your sentiments. It is bad timing no matter what, even if, with every shred of his existence, he is NOT going to the NFL this year. Just bad all around.

IMO, he should be willing to sacrifice pleasing an NFL team and just going to the interview FOR the sake of the sanity and well-being of the 20-some odd young men that are recruited to Notre Dame. And he should definitely be willing to sacrifice a NEGOTIATING PLOY for the well-being of those young men.

Just bad taste all together.

Thanks man, I'd rep if I didn't have to spread it around first. Encouraging news - hopefully the EE's are made aware of this, if it's true.

Again unless he told the kids he's coming back.

Don't think he is leaving but this could hurt us in recruiting down the line. other coaches will hang this over our head
