BK is staying-what does the team need to PLAC?

I just listened to the ISD podcast. They, like everyone else, realize S&C is a huge problem. (McGlinchey is 6'7 and ended the season under 300 lbs. That is pathetic.)To add fuel to the fire, apparently it has leaked that the players are criticizing Longo during their exit interviews.

Serious question:

There are WRs, like Chris Brown, Fuller, and Stepherson who are just skinny. No matter how many milkshakes they drink, thy can only carry so much weight. Then their are RBs the exact same height who weigh a ton and look like locomotives.

We all know there are 6'7" NBA players who are skinny. A lot of kids that height in college weight right around 200. Yes, two hundred.

So it's obvious that McGlinchy is not skinny. But neither is LeBron James, he is a beast, and he's nowhere close to 300. So how do we know that MCGlinchy could easily get to 310 or 320? Isn't it possible 295 is where his body wants to be--even if that is less than ideal as a LT? Obviously he could carry more fat, but that's not the goal.

The answer may be as simple as, "McGlinchy clearly has the bones to carry 315 or more." Again, I'm asking an honest question.

Listened to Irish Illustrated podcast today. They discussed 2017 schedule and it has quite a few subplots

Temple: This is a "must win" for Kelly (I can't believe I just noted Temple as a must win). Lose and it's just a matter of time. Rhule will be heavily rumored as a candidate to replace BK if he upsets ND in South Bend

Georgia: Visits South Bend w/ 5-star Jacob Eason who just happens to be an ND legacy (dad played for Holtz)

Miami (OH): likely NDs weakest opponent coached by former ND assistant Chuck Martin. Had ND finished 5-7, they'd be facing Miami (OH) in the St. Petersburg Bowl this season. Instead, Miss St gets that honor.

UNC: Irish travel to Chapel Hill where they'll likely be facing Malik Zaire @ QB. Zaire has UNC as a finalist. Their current starter, Mitch Trubisky, is predicted to declare for the NFL draft. He also happens to know Zaire from their HS days in Ohio.

Wake Forest: will Mike Elko be the new ND DC or will he stick it out w/ Dave Clawson?

Navy: no bye week (ND travels to Miami, FL the week prior) & its Senior Day. That should be fun.

The Navy game has a "subplot." All I need to know about the current state of the program.

Next year is gonna be the most important season in ND history, replacing 2016, which replaced 2015, who replaced......

When Navy and Temple are must win games, fire everyone. Now.

Whoa. That's a big problem, and what's scarier is we saw the same thing with players at the end of the Weis era.

Maybe he should stop using false starts as extra cardio...

I pray that the players are complaining about Longo. Strength Programs should be constantly changing and evolving. That doesn't appear to be the case.

A good position coach adapts his style to his players IMO. If you are given a bunch of knuckleheads that need to be whipped into shape, that's what you do. If you are given a bunch of low energy guys, you rah rah them until they get energy,

Makes no sense to call the guy a good coach whose personality doesn't fit with his players.

Then go coach in the NFL Gilmore. We don't want your soft attitude around the DL. Those people need to be nasty. I wish Kelly were an Eagle.

ISD also mentions that guys like Gilmore can do wonders with self-motivated, mature personalities like Sheldon Day and Isaac Rochell. If ND recruits more guys like them then there's a place for Gilmore at ND.

Please don't interrupt koon in his moment of outrage, or THIS will be all we hear from him for the next 9 months:

So if we sign only high 4, low 5 star guys with perfect work ethics and attitudes he can excel?

Where do I submit my app for ND DL coach. I actually like Gilmore even less after hearing these last few posts.

it was said it was leaked to isd but whether that means they told BK is totally different

not at all, you dont have to be a 5 star to be a motivated player who is going to maximize their potential.

Whatever is needed to be done by BK will not happen. We need some new voices around the program IMO. If Kelly is to be successful here moving forward then he needs to hire someone from outside his circle and let them do their job.

IMO nothing will change because BK is arrogant and thinks that his way was not the problem this season that it was the players that lead to an off year.

Just disappointed that we have to watch another year of mediocrity!

I agree. That quote reads poorly.

"Phil Jackson did wonders for Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant......"
