You're all in lockstep that the world is ending, look at Yankee's posts, your posts, IE's CNN correspondent's posts, literally the only one with a somewhat level head is North Dakota. If someone was reading IE you'd think that the US is this wasteland, it's not. How does everyone get in the same mindset if the big bad media and Jeffrey Bezos are silencing the real news?

Just look at how so many flail around and go "hrrrrrr Inflation! hrrrrrrr gas!" But they can't explain why it's Biden's fault. Oh you mean the pipeline that was 8% complete in June 2021? Right yes that totally would have solved the rising prices lmaooooo ok buddy. Let's double back to inflation for a moment, Biden is getting slamed by the WP/NYT/Fox about inflation so I'm not sure the crying about MeDiA is warranted - at all. I still have not seen anyone provide an actual answer on what exactly Biden has done to cause a global inflation issue, can anyone do that? I promise I won't tell Daddy Soros to censor you xoxo

I did explain why Biden has contributed and made the problem worse, not better. If you don’t like it, don’t characterize it as Keystone or bust. His negligence has expanded beyond Keystone/Nordstream. Biden’s approval rating has tanked for some time now. That’s not the Fox News viewers alone disapproving. Things are legitimately getting worse. Labor issues were noticed by our family today. Multiple people at the grocery store talking about missing products, high prices, and no staff. The hashtag diplomacy isn’t helping either.

I also warned friends who were thinking of voting for Biden that when the US is weak the evil players become emboldened and it will be your kids who have to go off and fight the wars (not a middle aged dude like me). Sadly, it may be happening quicker than I even thought.

I saw a video earlier of Norfolk Naval Station. Carrier strike groups were rolling out on a Sunday. Lots of empty piers...

Believe it or not I considered myself one until about 2015. But that doesn't answer the questions below:

1) Which war is being fought currently?

2) Who is responsible, in your opinion, for the inflation that is being felt in each country?

3) How should the Biden administration tackle poor retirement planning?

https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/23/polit...der/index.html

https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/23/polit...aff/index.html

https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/23/asia/...-ml/index.html

Not sure if you were serious, but here is some reading for you to do pertaining to escalations around the globe. Couldn't find the article from this AM where it stated the US and others now have to find other sources for oil now having to move away from using Russia.

Continually dumping cash into our economy is not working either and only adds to inflation and devaluation of the dollar.

I have given Biden some credit. Not much, but I acknowledge it when it happens. Blame Biden for gas prices? Right or wrong every president gets blamed for high prices and takes credit for low prices. That will never change. The oil issue goes back to the oil embargo of the 70's, when we had lines wrapped around the block waiting to get gas. What did the government do? They started stockpiling in the event of another shortage. Here we are 40 years later and we're still hoarding it, just in case. You want OPEC and others to lower their price? Quit buying it and use some of what we have.

I typically say President's don't contribute to higher or lower gas prices unless they enact a policy change or actually do something to contribute to it going up or down. Biden has only made the problem worse.

Also- Biden is outperforming. https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tan...est-increases/

This crap about it being a global issue is excuse. Under Biden- Stores have less inventory, less staff, significantly higher prices, and have had no help from our new gender strategy or trillions in spending.

It would be nice if they can pull this off. Imagine the hell Putin would receive if they drove through lines of civilians holding hands.

Additionally, how would you suggest a government should intervene to assist in individuals insufficient retirement planning?

Just send them a monthly check like they did for unemployment, housing and COVID.

On a serious note, not everyone can be blamed for insufficient retirement funds. When I worked at Sallie Mae, part of my bonus structure was stock. Al Lord was negotiating with one of the major banks(Chase IIRC). At the time that they agreed in principle, the stock was hovering around $58. A couple of weeks later, the bank announced it was backing out and stock dropped to about $8. A couple of months later Sallie Mae announced they were laying off 3,000 employees. I was caught in that. My stock? It was worthless because the price was well below my grant price. Hold onto it? No can do. Once you left the company, you had 60 days to sell it. I lost $150K. Not in total value but what I would have made if I could have sold the stock when it was $58.

This stuff started in 2020 under Trump though...

I can't stand Biden or Trump, they both suck and prove the many issues I have with what has happened to the balance of the federal government's power and the checks and balances of the branches. I also cannot stand the fact that people really think either one (or someone else) would really have figured all of this out.

Our unemployment rate is 3.9%. Whenever someone mentions this they mention the faults in the data (doesn't count underemployed, doesn't account for the people who stopped looking, etc.), however but when Trump was touting the economy and unemployment... *crickets* from most of you.

Everyone hates at least half of federal government representatives yet can't wait for their side to grab more power - only to whine when they are eventually beaten with their own stick. Whole thing needs to be neutered. Convention of States is the only way federal power will ever be reigned in b/c the dipshits in Congress sure as hell aren't handing the keys back to the people.

The dipshits in Congress don't even want to take their own keys back because they don't want to be held accountable!

It's super tough though, which is my general point. Inflation is complicated and more than just a couple keynesian charts. So blaming any administration is short sighted, and likely the toughest economic benchmark to pin on a leader.

The o&g stuff....well as you/ND note again is tough. I'd be more inclined to laugh at the fact that Biden is playing checkers while Mitch is playing 4d chess with him in the senate. Mitch is a first ballot HoF'er if there was one for the senate.

This. I've routinely showed the data how Clinton/OB outperformed Trump on most economic metrics - with the exception of labour force participation and I believe minority unemployment he did better than most presidents.

No party is the defacto "fiscally" responsible party, the greatest con ever is convincing people that voting conservative is some sort of "fiscally" smart move just because cutting social programs is good for the budget.

100% - That's why I've already assumed I won't see a dollar of my CPP contributions (similar to your social security stuff), because the general public is so woefully incompetent when planning for retirement, and some will just never get to retire. I don't have faith that the party who campaign's on gutting social programs is going to take care of the general populace who have no retirement plan. As well, the "we're going to mandate rainbow foreclosure notices" party to a better job unless they listen to the other half of their party.

We had shortages in essentials when people went home and then that gap closed. It's not crickets from me. Bringing back jobs that were shut down from COVID isn't job creation and tell me if it is blue states or red states that have more open positions than unemployed right now and have recovered? Stores have reduced hours, reduced floor space, and problems galore with the supply chain and they have all got worse in the last year. Biden inherited 3 vaccines and was given 2T to recover, he has FAILED. Crickets from you on the labor force participation rate?

Also- looks like Blinken is going to leave everyone to fend for themselves again-

Again with the deflections attempting to put me in Biden's corner... I'm not. Again, there is a GLOBAL supply chain issue. There is a GLOBAL pandemic. I don't care who the fuck is President, this shit isn't solved in 1 year.

Well on the topic of the BIDEN presidency, we are discussing how BIDEN has only made things worse. Yes, the global issues are there, but are we better off or worse off from what Biden has and hasn't done?

What has Biden done to fix the supply chain issue?

You are totally missing my point. How the hell can our president fix this stuff? Do you not notice that the ENTIRE world is dealing with this, not just the USA? Trump wouldn't have solved this issue. Daddy Reagan wouldn't have solved this issue. Roosevelt wouldn't have solved this issue. No doubt that Biden is not good, but most of this blame should not be focused on him (nor if someone else was in office)

Wow. You're totally missing my point. This "the problem is too hard" and "Not just Joe is incapable of solving it" is what the 33% that still support Biden must be telling themselves. Biden has spent trillions and nothing has improved under his watch. Now we're watching his management get tested again by Putin. His covid blunders, economic blunders, and braindead foreign policy have made things worse and now we're being told the candidate who campaigned on "it didn't need to be this bad" and "I'm going to shut down the virus" is completely in over his head.

That's the sad reality. Everyone is trying to tilt the playing field to their advantage. Supreme Court went from left to right, so they want to expand the court to counter. The filibuster has been in place for ages and has worked for both parties, but now it should be eliminated? It's almost like both parties even refuse to say hello as they pass each other in the halls.

Biden is now putting 8,500 troops on alert. Is that so we can show the Ukranians where to point the guns? Let's put some trade restrictions in place before we involve any troops.

WTF are you gonna do to Russia with 8500 people? I suspect there's something to this.

Where's that Biden Tweet during the primaries where he said he would be the only candidate that would take Putin to task?
Here we are with Russia on the edge of sacking Ukraine, and the last time they made this venture into Crimea Biden was the VP.

If we go into Ukraine I drop out of law school to join. But Biden and most everybody forgets that Ukraine gave up nukes with the expectation we would protect them. So I suspect I'll graduate in May.

8500 troops is probably more effective than sanctions. They don't want to kill US troops. Killing US troops gets the war drum banging louder than Arrowhead.

Sanctions is a minor inconvenience for Russia. They get around those faster than TJ Watt around a backup left tackle.

And yet another example of why his handlers have to do their best to keep him away from unscripted mic time. That Biden was hypocritical enough and stupid enough to do this is about as surprising as finding out a Kardashian acted trashy. What will be interesting and fun is watching CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the Pravda Amerika gang spin it.

I'd be surprised if any of the networks carrying water for Biden will report on that incident. Good to see the adults are back in charge and Biden's sticking to the message in those Tweets.
