wikipedia on sedition

Sedition - Wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Sedition
Sedition is overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that tends toward rebellion against the established order. Sedition often includes subversion of ...
Sedition Act of 1918 ·

For the "gerniuses" on the board

Is OVERTHROWING a valid election "seditious??"

It would be helpful to use the definitions that the government would use, for starters.

18 USC 2384 If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

I suggest you do some research, compile a list of who you think the Feds can convict on that, and send your findings to the powers that be.

The way i read that, "force" is a pretty major component. Before you waste any time reviewing the tape, it might be worth nailing down how "force" is defined by the statute, or how the courts have historically defined it.

Happy hunting.

wow, somebody got some 'splainin' to do!!!

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/12/12/meadows-jan-6-national-guard-trump-524133

.Meadows Jan. 5 email indicated Guard on standby to ‘protect pro Trump people,’ investigators say

The context for the message is unclear, but it comes amid scrutiny of the Guard’s slow response to the Jan. 6 violence at the Capitol.

Mark Meadows indicated in a Jan. 5 email that the National Guard was on standby to “protect pro Trump people,” according to documents obtained by the House committee investigating the Capitol riot, which the panel described in a public filing Sunday night.

The context for the message is unclear, but it comes amid intense scrutiny of the Guard’s slow response to violence at the Capitol on Jan. 6 and conflicting timelines about their efforts from the Pentagon and National Guard leadership.

t's unclear who Meadows, the former White House chief of staff to Donald Trump, relayed the information to or whether it was the result of any insight provided by the Defense Department. But the exchange is of high interest to congressional investigators probing whether Trump played a role in the three-hour delay between the Capitol Police's urgent request for Guard support and their ultimate arrival at the Capitol, which had been overrun by pro-Trump rioters. The comment also aligns with testimony from former Defense Secretary Christopher Miller, who said that in a Jan. 3 conversation with Trump, the then-president told him to "do whatever was necessary to protect the demonstrators that were executing their constitutionally protected rights."
The description of the message is part of a 51-page document released Sunday by the select panel a day before it is set to vote to hold Meadows in contempt of Congress. The full House is expected to vote to hold Meadows in criminal contempt of Congress on Tuesday.

In other messages described by the committee, Meadows appears to have asked members of Congress to help connect Trump with state lawmakers shortly after his defeat in November.

“POTUS wants to chat with them,” Meadows said, according to documents obtained by the Jan. 6 committee and described publicly Sunday evening.

The messages also describe numerous contacts with members of Congress about Trump’s efforts to recruit state lawmakers and encourage them to help overturn the election results. They also included questions about Meadows’ exchanges with members of Congress as they pressed him urgently to issue a statement telling rioters on Jan. 6 to exit the Capitol.

Meadows’ attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The messages are the clearest insight yet into the conversations Trump was having with senior advisers in the chaotic months after his defeat in which he sought to cling to power in increasingly desperate ways. Though Meadows turned over thousands of text messages and emails, he has declined to sit for a deposition to discuss those messages, claiming he is barred by executive privilege. The committee and Meadows had reached a tentative agreement for him to come in for an interview, but the pact collapsed last week.

Instead, the committee held a closed-door deposition without Meadows present and described the questions they would have asked him. The transcript of that closed session was appended to the panel’s contempt report, describing the details of the documents Meadows had provided.

OUCH "Sought to cling to power in increasingly desperate ways.:

Sore losers are, by definition, losers.

This is what losers do. They ignore the problems we have and a failed President to continue to stir a controversy here. Now that Russia is debunked and they have nothing else to distract people from, here we are.

Taking cues from the media that never asked Biden about Afghanistan, ignores the border, inflation, supply chain issues, Russian buildup in Ukraine, and more to try to keep the narrative on what they want. A few hundred thousand tunes into the propaganda networks at night to watch this story re-run and maintain outrage. It's sad.

It's a non-story from a partisan investigation that will surely deliver partisan results right before an election. Excuse me for not giving a shit about it.

If that isn't the pot calling the kettle black?

And with that question, queue some unintelligible, trite, meaningless, indistinct, obscure, ambiguous, incoherent, jumbled and muddled prose from you know who.

Inflation rose 6.8% in November. I'd like to mention specifically that this is the highest rate since 1982. Biden trying to out Carter Jimmy Carter here?

The SQUAD needs to go! MGT and Lauern Boebert need to go. Probably a few others. Never have I seen more inept people elected in the world... except Trudeau and a few others.

Why in the absolute hell are these losers given so much media attention?

Let's wake up before it's too late!!

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Per a quick googly search..........The inflation rate was 13.5% in 1980 and 10.3% in 1981. It fell to 6.1% in 1982. Carter was at 13.3%.

Soooooooo in 1982 per Polish post the President was Reagan, your google is a thing to admire! Risin' like Reagan baby, it's morning again in America!

Still waiting on him to provide the numbers to support "growth we haven't seen in some time" from the 2016 to 2020 period. Something tells me we won't see him respond.

Won't respond to you on that one for three reasons:

a) you've already agreed with me on some points

b) i've pointed out those economic numbers in previous posts multiple times in this thread and others

c) you're trolling

I'm talking about who was President last time inflation was this high, President Reagan. I know you were an infant and thus this time period is pretty fuzzy for you (although it counts because you were alive), but during his time in office things got turned around eventually. So again, it's morning in America!

1) I agreed that it's good that minority and women unemployment being at its lowest is good and that is a positive point.

2) You keep saying that and yet I looked through to see if I could find it, and *surprise* you've never once shown that GDP/Participation rate/Stock market gains under Trump were ever anything we haven't seen in some time. If it's so easy post it, show everyone you can back up what you claim. It's getting embarrassing at this point, admit you were wrong and move on.

3) You made the initial claim, I challenged you on it, and you haven't been able to substantiate that claim. How am I trolling? I've asked you numerous times to support your claim.

Having a hard time swallowing the truth, you might want to see a EN&T specialist.

No, it was Carter. Regan inherited it and reduced it to less than half in 1982.

Asking someone to provide data on the US economy during any period would be akin to me asking you to tell me the records of every Big 10 football team from the years 2012 to 2016. We have the same access to the same information. I'm not repeating myself for your entertainment, and surely not taking the bait from the troll.

If you're that invested, go find the info. You've already given yourself a good start with the unemployment numbers.

You may be confused here. As Irish1 points out, high inflation is bad. So no, it isn't morning in America again. It's Carter era in America again.

Yeah, acknowledging that President Reagan was in office the last time inflation was this high is really ME having a tough time swallowing the truth. I think we all know why you don't have any trouble swallowing you old pro you!

I agree that overcoming a predecessor's missteps can be difficult and am thrilled you guys are going to give President Biden two years of leeway to get this thing fixed. Like I said, Morning in America!

Except I did provide the info lmao, I had a source for each number and historical data. I asked you for your data. Why can't you post it? You have no issue pointing high inflation numbers, surely you can point out the numbers that lead you believe Trump was this economic savior.

Repeating would insuate you've already posted a response, you haven't. You can just say you're wrong.

Conveniently ignoring inflation during Carter's presidency doesn't make it go away or change history. Trying to infer that the high inflation during Reagans years was his doing isn't working either. Being an experienced old pro, I know when to swallow and this isn't one of those times.

I will be more than happy to give Biden credit if he can get inflation under control. Reagan did it in just under two years from the time he took his oath. Biden has 13 months left to make that happen. I'm not optimistic.

This is the unifying tone and honest work that the country was waiting for. People are cheering to pay more just so we can be more right about Biden and his regime being completely clueless.

I thought Democrats were supposed to be the party for the lower class, but who does inflation hurt the most? Instead of offering solutions they're trying to spin inflation as a good thing, a nothing burger, or they're pointing the finger at the Republican response to try and take the focus away? Not amusing. She couldn't even say it with a straight face without stuttering. Many of us are tightening the belts this holiday season and making sacrifices, so passing this off as anything but a hardship is troubling.

It's obvious you don't understand how all of this works. Just sit back, relax and let the experts handle this. They know what's best for us. I know because they told me so.

The fact that they would have done it without the backlash says enough about how insane these people are.
