Love the moves Cherington has made as a whole. A righty dead pull hitter who is still in the fold for atleast another year. And an absolute CANNON of an arm for a guy who is going to test the market in the winter and will do no good on a team that is out of it. Anyone who has been exposed to gomes production on a day to day basis sees how bad he really is, it's not all big home runs in October. Maybe he'll be good for that in Oakland, but he does not hold a candle to cespedes in any aspect of his game.

Buying and selling. It's simple as that.

Lackey deal is absolute highway robbery.

If somehow someway Stephen Drew ushers in the post Jeter era for the yankees next year at short, beautiful.

Jackson is so inconsistent. Hell of a locker room guy and fan favorite though. Love the trade. Verlander is now the 4th best pitcher on the roster. Last 3 AL Cy Young winners are now in the D.

Fan favorite as mentioned above. People reacted the same when Granderson was traded to NYY. It hurts the heart to not have a guy like Jackson and Granderson no longer on the roster.

Im a huge fan of tigers and yes I agree 100% so inconsistent. Arguably the best rotation in the MLB now no questions about it. Defense wins championships as they say and our defense is stacked now.

The Rays got above average SP, a minor league utility player, and a 18 year old lottery ticket in the form of a SS for one of the best pitchers in baseball. What the hell is going on? For that, keep Price and try to make a run. Worst case is a similar deal is there in the winter.

I love it too. What you said is exactly true. Watching AJAX in the playoffs last year waving his bat at pitches in the sky and not being able to put a bunt in play was the last straw for me. The only problem I see is you cant have 4 pitchers that make 15-20 mil a year for very long. I'm afraid they'll have to let at least one go next year. But for now, love it. Go Tigs!

That's freaking sick... that deal hurt the Halos imo as the Halos needed a guy like Price and for what Tampa got, that Halos sure could have gotten in there... and it's one more mountain to climb now for my Angels...

with all that said, how can you, as a baseball fan in general, not love what the tigers did today. I'm happy for them.

Phillies didn't trade shit. Ruben Amaro is easily the worse GM in sports. seriously, he messed them up so bad that even with blowing up the team now they would still be 3-4 years from being competitive. Now we got a long decade a head of us.

I get keeping Utley, he still draws fans to the stadium, probably Philly's most beloved star. But Hamels? No one cares for him, get a blue chip and a few low level guys in exchange at the very least. And and Marlon bird? Literally no reason to keep him, he was brought in to help a long shot playoff push that is non existent now.

Scherzer wont get re-signed, Tigers will work a deal with Price this off season. One of the prospects will take place of Scherzer. The Tigers gotta work on the bullpen for once next offseason.
