Is that confirmed?
Is that confirmed?
Doesn't this make Te'o the most decorated collegiate player of all time?
Notre Dame NCAA College Football Awards Winners - ESPN
Can we get the award from 2002 removed from the list please?
This is so awesome. What a great night for ND football in general. I took one, little peek at the A&M boards (I had to). It is absolute anarchy over there. I'm talking like ready to storm and protest anarchy.
A&M has a board?
On Saturday night Te’o will not only attempt to win a historic Heisman Trophy and deliver an eighth to Notre Dame, he’ll attempt to pull off a rare Heisman-Maxwell double. In the last 12 years, the two national player of the year awards have agreed just twice (Tim Tebow in ’07 and Cam Newton in ’10).
The Heisman and Maxwell act as each others apologist. Straight truth. In fairness, how often is there one best player in football, (like there is this year)?
I'm not sure I will ever be convinced that these aren't the same awards voted on by different individuals handing out a different statue. The best player in college football......is the best player in college football. "Player" is singular. Else we should see co-Heisman and co-Maxwell and co-Walter Camp award winners. Clearly, I don't have history on my side as the facts back up your statement. I just personally, don't agree with it.
With a hundred and twenty BCS level institutions fielding a team of eighty-five players, except the SEC where there is no limit, you think there is clearly a best player every year? That is ten thousand two hundred players, plus gray! You think consensus has sensitivity down to 0.00001 every year? Less sensitivity than that revealed the butterfly effect!

Correction...Ward had 6. So Irishillustrated was still wrong.
Did you see who won it??? The dude is deserving!
They're not wrong, Teo is still the most decorated player, he just shares that honor with Ward.
I also think Teo gets a nudge for doing it in one year instead of compliling them over a career.
But if he wins the Heisman, then this is all moot.
Ward also did it in one year......1993.
