I’ve always found that talk is cheap. And Mario likes to talk. So who gives a crap what he has to say? I surely don’t.

I agree but the nightmare scenario continues for Notre Dame.

Both Bama and Miami both beating higher seeds on the road makes our behavior after the selection look more like a petulant temperature tantrum.
Yeah, the seeding means nothing. Sagarin had Miami higher than A&M and Bama higher than OU. If these teams are going to prove something, it would be in the next round.

The Irish never once argued they deserved to be in over Miami. They argued they shouldn't have dropped five spots in the rankings after wining by 40 points.

It doesn't matter just WHAT we were arguing. We just look stupid now. All of CFB is trolling us now.

Try not to look at everything through Irish eyes.

the only bad scenario for ND right now is Schrauth and Burnham bailing if they do.

We play in the field next year. Curb stomp them and then they will shut up.
Yep. Everybody’s better than the team you cheer for until they lose to you. Best to let the talking happen on the field. Nothing worse than letting the other team’s players, coaches, fans get to you. Beat their ass by one or a hundred and then let them flap their gums.

Miami doesn’t even have fans in real life. Their fanbase is like 300 dudes who have 10 burner accounts each. Just look at their stadium for any non-top ten matchup.

They won and beat the other team that beat us.

Rivals are good - they deserve to talk. Next year should be an amazing atmosphere. Without checking the schedule I assume we’ll be good and ranked high and it will be their first trip out of Florida.

And their biggest fan M. Irvin is an absolute embarrassment for them.

CFB casuals are idiots. I couldn’t care less about what they are saying or the optics on ND at this point in the season. You’ll just find a bunch of “lmao ND lost” even though it was August/September and teams change over time. Especially one ushering in a young QB taking his first start.

We were third in title odds going into the selection show for a reason. The same reason the committee fudged Alabama’s ranking over us and flipped Miami over us:

We are back, many are now realizing it, and we had a legitimate chance to win the whole damn thing. So the committee chose to preserve Alabama at our expense. Sucks. Whatever.

Those unaware either don’t know ball, are pretending it’s not true, or are blinded by hate. The ones way smarter than us (oddsmakers) with significant money on the line believe we’re basically at the top, and that’s enough for me for now. If we can keep Freeman for a few more years and keep progressing like we have, it will average out and we will see a natty. Let them hate. We’ll have ours soon. Go Irish.

Wanted Miami to win in an ugly game just like they did today. Now need OSU and Indiana to curb stomp the mid ass SEC teams they’re up against
Bama is going to shit stomp Indiana and go to the natty,… not because they’re all that, just bc you give ANY name program with talent a shot they don’t deserve and they’ll squeeze every drop out of it… we’ve seen this multiple times before. And it’s not like they’re facing a tough field to begin with let’s be honest

Completely agree. If anything, this should help our argument that metrics should matter, if not even have a set formula for part of the committee’s decisions to remove their human biases.

From a metrics and power rankings standpoints, the better teams actually won. This will unfortunately be impossible for CFB casuals or those national media journalists to understand.

Further proving our point that how you play throughout the season is predictive for playoff success and ultimately who can actually win the title.

ND Rankings: #11 CFP, #3 Sag, #4 FPI & #4 FEI

OU Rankings: #8 CFP, #13 Sag, #15 FPI & #13 FEI
Bama Rankings: #9 CFP, #9 Sag, #8 FPI & #10 FEI

A&M Rankings: #7 CFP, #8 Sag, #10 FPI & #11 FEI
Miami Rankings: #10 CFP, #7 Sag, #7 FPI & #9 FEI

Yep, if anything they went backwards this year by not emphasizing FPI at the request of the SEC, in all previous years I remember FPI being at the forefront of arguments, this year SOS was used above all else. Just incredibly corrupt.

Considering scheduling disparities and a Lack of OOC games To compare against, it really should be at the forefront of resumes. Basketball uses KenPom and Net rankings for this exact reason.

Oh yeah, we look ridiculous in this scenario. Give me a break lmao. It's fucking embarrassing for your head coach and players to thinking about Notre Dame just minutes after the biggest win of their lives.
The guy you are responding to absolutely lives for these moments. He always has something negative to spit out about ND. He gives actual sea turtles a bad name.
