I read that he said he ruled out Georgia because they were recruiting him, as a 3-4 OLB instead of his natural position: WDE, but I also read that Auburn, LSU, and Georgia are out and he is going to shock the world. Choosing ND would be shocking alright.

Isn't ND recruiting him to play that same position? Of course it wouldn't be far fetched if they changed their mind and allowing him to start off as a DE.

The "Cat" OLB in the 3-4 isn't all that different from being a 4-3 DE especially the WSDE.

Maybe a transfer? This is just the fodder that I'm seeing on II.

Apparently Diaco talked the NCAA into expanding the number of allowed scholarships for Notre Dame only. Not that surprising actually.

More likely Slive is talking to Swarbrick about affiliation and ND looking to get in the spirit of the SEC is lining up recruits #26, #27, #28, #29, ..., #n.

Look for Res Life to be disbanded as a prerequisite to SEC membership.

And ND will open a kiniesology program.

Germane of this discussion: In ancient times, everyone knew that Rice University had some of the highest academic standards for admissions, yet they were still competing effectively in the old Southwest conference [seven Texas schools plus Arkansas]. Someone who was following these things at the time told me that Rice had instituted a "special program" for football players who needed it, but without the Rice high quality standards. Because the faculty couldn't quite stomach this, a compromise was reached where anyone graduating from that special program got a somewhat different degree from Rice than ordinary students. I do not know if this story is correct, and maybe someone can educate us further, but, if it was, it "neatly" solves the standards "problem"... and the NCAA would certainly put a stop to such things [just as they did to the old "luxury hotel" Alabama "dorm".] Then the practice would have to go undercover and the faculty just shut up.

When I lived in Houston, those "special degrees" were recognized by the Texas Dept of Transportation as valid handicap parking placards provided they were placed on the dashboard.

The state of Alabama's DOT has a similar arrangement with Auburn but they must be mounted on the front bumper of your tractor.

In all serious we have Bob Diaco, th only thing that would be a surprise would be if we didn't get one of these guys with him recruiting.

Saturday is slated as the day Savon is making his decision, could there be a connection?

So we literally got nothing in this rumor thread, except there "might" be something going down this weekend. So, basically this is more of a post your wish-list of things that have the slightest possibilities that you could maybe, one-day, possibly think-about considering dreaming about that could happen.

So i got a rumor for you, Notre Dame might win the Nat'l championship next year. I can't tell you where I heard it or how they're going to do it, just know it might/could happen. I can't give more details for embarrassment of it not happening just remember, if they win next year, you heard it here first.

Oh, and on side note, I am in no way mocking the creator of this thread.

That would be a rumor! When it's being posted on numerous sites, people just relay the message. That's how message boards work sometimes.

This thread feels more useless than the thread a couple years ago when someone wrote that we were going to get a bunch commits on spring game and got nothing.

There are a lot of "rumors" going around most ND CFB recruiting boards. There must be some hard core paoching going on with all of the potential good news and possibilities of great recruiting weekends. I have no idea why I checked the GT 247 site, but they have a similar post.

I certainly hope that we maintain the recruits that we have. The "rumors" or hopeful recruits that are mentioned would be an outstanding addition to what we have, however, I believe that holding on to what we have would be nice. This (recruiting) can be harmful to ones health as we place our hopes on young footballer decisions to play for the what we call the greatest college football team ever. Here's to a another "possible great recruiting weekend" and GO IRISH!

Wow, 7 pages of.........nothing.

Quite simply, Ray Drew is NOT coming. Can't believe anybody who follows recruiting would even think about him announcing for ND. Ain't gonna happen - and not even close. I wouldn't doubt that we aren't even in his top 10-15.

Also, don't expect to hear anything on Niklas, unless he surprises everyone and commits. He simply doesn't talk to the media. He hasn't said a word to anyone after his SC visit, which I'm sure went well.

Huggins - Every ND mod I have read thinks he won't choose ND. The consensus is he'll stay home and choose Rutgers.

Schmidt - not coming with Niklas after all, but will visit.

Drew - for closure's sake, again, NOT COMING.

Recruiting in January - "it's the most wonderful time of the year" (except that it usually sucks for ND fans)
