scUM is ranked in the top 5 while being undefeated and yet they just took a verbal from a LB from Cincy rated only the 88th best LB in the nation. i'm laughing about it but how the hell do you recruit this badly when you are a top 5 team at the moment
The fight between the known insiders & EJ is epic.
Some of the insiders have been well known & trusted for years. They are attached to the program in different ways, & the older mods all vouch for them.
They are going at EJ for his BS & of course EJ is being EJ back.
The other mods can’t do anything about it because they have already vouched for the insiders, but work with EJ.

It got so out of control others have started new threads just to breakdown & analyze the feud. LOL

But will make future UM battles harder. Unless Harbaugh still flirts with the NFL every offseason.
Honestly I think the Colts talk is going to heat up. Somebody is going to pay Jim. The fact that they’re doing what they are and their recruiting class is what it is has to grind on Jimmy H.

Michigan headed for back to back playoff bids while ND has an evening battle to not go 8-4. Fucking gross.
Yeah tough to hate on their schedule when they dickslap OSU like that. Jesse Minter was a really good hire for them as a DC.

Hell of a win for the Wolverines. Physically dominated OSU in Columbus. Harbaugh has rebuilt Michigan really, really well.

Michigan back is bad for us. Its no coincidence that Georgia, Clemson, Alabama way up when the florida schools are all shit. USC Stanford Michigan all being down has significantly helped us since 2017. USC and Michigan success is not good for us. Of course all of that ignores nil and transfer portal impacts.

OSU being down which they are relative to their talent is good. Their performance the last 2 years is bad that should affect recruiting in Ohio.

I think it actually might be a net neutral to positive considering Harbaugh doesn’t take recruiting that seriously. They’re getting zero bump so far for being good and it might dent OSU.

Michigan's results this year are proof positive that playing an easy schedule is the way to go. Played two teams all year with a pulse, and now might get to play TCU for a trip to a national championship. Wild year. Definitely the softest at the "top" CFB has been in a lonnnnnng time.

Gotta tip the cap to scUM for embarrassing OSU for the second year in a row.

Official that it’ll be Purdue next week

Purdue is a weird ass team that’ll at least put a few scores on Michigan. Defense has been bad most of the year though. Won’t rollover at least

Trouble is, we go up against Ohio State mainly for kids from Ohio. They have home field there no matter how good/bad they are.

Michigan and ND compete for recruits in Chicago and all over the Northeast. Neutral ground. Michigan appearing to be “back” will give them something of an edge.

Still, our current staff works circles around Michigan’s when it comes recruiting. And we cast a much wider net than they do. It’ll be fine.

If good Aiden O’Connell shows up and Charlie Jones can get loose for a couple scores anything can happen. They’ve got a good TE, too, in Durham.

Purdue cannot run the ball for shit and their D is average on their best day.

That said, playing in Indy with nothing to lose and Brohm scheming it up, they could do something.

Really bizarre thread. It's almost scary where some ND fans who post here are psychologically just because Michigan has beaten Ohio State two years in a row, which is trivial when it comes to what Notre Dame is doing currently and with going ahead.

Weird.

It's strange to consider how poorly they're doing recruiting wise after their first CFB birth and yet another undefeated regular season. Obviously Harbaugh screwed the pooch when he flirted with the NFL immediately after his most successful season but I'm also beginning to think that his personality is beginning to shine through for a lot of these recruits. He's just an odd, odd duck. Look at the wave of young, personable coaches (MF, for example). Imagine having a conversation with MF vs. Harbaugh as a teenager or a parent.

My uncle was a highly successful D-1 football coach in the state and his school hosted Harbaugh on visits on multiple occasions and he couldn't get over how strange he is as a person, football mind aside.

Michigan is prehistoric at best in regards to NIL.

Maybe that's all we need to know.
The state isn't exactly loaded with talent this year either.

I think their poor recruiting this cycle is a combo of:

1. Harbaugh flirting with the NFL
2. Poor NIL
3. Getting outworked by Day and Freeman

Michigan got WAY behind everybody early. That was undoubtedly Harbaugh and some coaching shifting.
The big programs, including us, got in on the typical Michigan national targets solidly before they tried to catch up.
The state was very thin on star power this year, and Dante Moore was a disaster for them as well as us, perhaps more. Then they lost their second highest target as well, leaving them with number three in the state with not much behind.
The state's OLine recruits weren't deep either, and the best three got swept up elsewhere.
Their NIL might be philosophically worse than NDs as far as "not stooping to" others' behaviors.
Harbaugh got the needed few transfer portal people he needed (especially that center) and didn't feel the urgency apparently.
The latter might lead one to believe that his plan involves a leap to The League sooner than the fans now expect.
