I love these CB's on this defense.

Since the second half of last year to now Jourdan Lewis has been playing probably the best CB that I've seen here since Leon Hall.

Harbaugh moving Clark to CB from safety looks like a nice move, that kid is 6'4.

Stribling has taken a huge jump under this new staff and he's like 6'3.

Peppers is the Nickel/Safety plays a lot of slot CB and he was the #1 CB in his recruiting class.

That transfer CB from Stanford Lyons hasn't even gotten on the field in the first 4 games so far and seems like they haven't skipped a beat with Countess transferring to Auburn.

Luck or not, confidence goes a long way.

Eh, maybe. He's looked awful the first 3 games though, and there is a reason why Iowa didn't want him anymore.

IF he plays efficient and smart like he has this game, well then Michigan will be a pretty good team because they have a legit defense.

I just don't buy Rudock will play like this ever again.

don't worry, it's just luck.

Jake Rudock will never play this good again for the rest of his career. This is like a career day for him. He stinks.

I'd like to agree with this but I just don't. He was only in camp for what, a month during those first few games where he didn't look good. He'll settle in and be a decent QB for you guys. Won't be a world beater but I think he'll be solid once he settles in. Plus Harbaugh is as good of a coach as there is in CFB and he'll get Rudock playing somewhat consistent. That's really all they need from Rudock to win 8 or 9 games this year...just be a game manager and not lose them games with turnovers. Minnesota, MSU and OSU will be tough regardless.

I also think it's really dumb when these west coast teams schedule noon games in the Eastern time zone. Never works out well. And yes, I know BYU isn't a west coast team but they're still waking up for this game at like 5 in the morning their time to get ready for the game. That's just asking for a flat performance...like Stanford-Northwestern.

BYU looks flat after that loss to UCLA, that or the combination of a stiff Michigan defense and BYU playing their backup QB is causing for a lopsided game. The real test will be how they fare against MSU if MSU is riding high as undefeated when they go to the Out House.

I'm just sad that UM is going to be ranked after this showing.

defense deserves it, they've been lights out through the first 4 games.

Only gave up 17 points to a pretty good Utah team on the road in the 1st game. A turnover by Rudock set them up for a TD, D would've probably only given up 10 without that.

Oregon State had that opening drive for a TD and then got shut out rest of the way.

UNLV was shut out for the most part up until Delano Hill tripped in coverage and gave up a huge pass play which lead to a TD.

Shutting out BYU right now, a team that was putting up 427 yards a game and 30.3 PPG against legit teams in Nebraska, Boise State, and UCLA- not FCS teams to pad stat against. So far they have 76 total yards and zero.

If they had a better QB and OL and could ball control, limit turnovers, and just grind out 1st downs and keep that defense fresh this team would actually be very good because this D is pretty legit.

Except 1997. I don't remember Hitler being around back then.

Sorry, I should have said consensus NCs. Going halvsies doesn't count unless you're Michigan and need to count anything you can get your hands on to feel like you measure up. They don't care anyway, they're all about that awesome B1G championship which they haven't come close to recently either.

I have to say I've been very surprised with how Michigan has played. Their only loss is on the road to a team that looks like the real deal (Utah) and they have held the 3 other FBS teams they played to a combined 14 points, including a ranked BYU team and a Pac-12 team.

If they go 5-2 in the next 7 games before the showdown with Ohio St. I'd say that's a very good season for them.

Which sucks lol.

Northwestern, Michigan State, and @Minnesota will all be very tough games, all 3 of them have very tough, solid defenses. Michigan gets two of them at home fortunately.

Maryland, Rutgers, and Indiana look pretty awful. Penn State....feel bad for Hackenburg against this defense. They might Anthony Morelli him like back in 2006.

They'll beat the Buckeyes this year.

I don't think so. I like Ohio State's defense better than Michigan State's, and Jake Rudock pretty much sucks and I think he'll have a tougher day against Ohio State's D than MSU's.

I just think they match-up better against Michigan State. And Michigan State is reeling with injuries as well, and that secondary and LB corps isn't anywhere close to what it used to be the last 4-5 years, the DL is still pretty stout however.

Except 1997. I don't remember Hitler being around back then.

I think he meant to say an undisputed title, because wasn't the '97 title shared?

That, or maybe the conspiracy people were right and Hitler survived!

yes it was shared because one coach (widely believed to be Phil Fulmer) voted Michigan 4th and two other coaches voted Michigan 3rd in the final poll, which allowed Nebraska to leap frog Michigan to #1. If those coaches just vote Michigan #2, Michigan would've won the coaches poll as well.

Can some one please beat these turds and bring them back to reality. Although some of the stuff on MGoblog is pure comedy. Like denouncing everything ESPN until ESPNs FPI has them favorites in every game but OSU. Which of course means they are headed to the playoff. I hope Dantonio has something special brewed up for that game in 2 weeks.

Lot of hate in this thread, but I kind of think they go 9-3. Considering how Oregon has looked since MSU, the fact that MSU has looked pedestrian this year, plus having the game be in the Big House....I'm almost tempted to pick Michigan to win that game in a couple weeks. Harbaugh is the real deal and the roster isn't as untalented as it looked last season.

yeah. you look at their schedule and it's almost hard to pick out 4 losses. I wouldnt consider them a particularly deep team though, so i'll bet they do end up losing 4 instead of 3. Hopefully followed by a blowout loss in a bowl.

Michigan fans on the internet are getting really loud. Got into it with a few of them that think they're playoff bound/better than ND/etc.
