[Ducking] This is why I recommend proofreading. My mental auto-correct immediately substituted "now" for "not," allowing for an inadvertent typo. Then I wondered "Is there something that I/we don't know?"

Because its one of the top 5 college football programs of all time.

See, there you go, I was speaking euphemistically, from an ND perspective, and you had to get all serious and factual, all over my as$! Relax. I was kidding. I know three or four people that played there, and when I talk to them, I say the same thing. They think it is funny, so should you son of mine that I never had!

It was off dShans previous post:

Then I wondered "Is there something that I/we don't know?"

So I said, "Why anyone would want to play for Michigan?"

Way to rep the education at Miss State. Looks like it was written by a toddler.

They did put "you're" so that is a start.

And isn't using e and E interchangeably in handwriting a sign of something?

UR rite. "You're" is correct. I, for one, use a scaled down "E" rather than an "e". It's a matter of legibility. Try as they might, with wooden rulers in hand, the Good Nuns were unable to straighten out my cursive scrawl.

Picked up a commitment from Heuerman's old teammate, DT Brady Pallante. He only had one offer from App State and it appears Michigan offered him a greyshirt.

App State offer. Hmmm, didn't they beat the Wal Marters a few years ago? Does this fall into the "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer" category?

So... basically.... upfront "grey shirt offers" are the ethical way to get around the oversigning issue and recruit in a way that allows for natural attrition.....

So why don't we do it?

I'd hope the reason we dont greyshirt is because greyshirting is so easy to abuse. Once the player's enrolled and on the team as a "walk-on", the school has all the power. If a coach decides to simply break his promise to a greyshirted player, there's nothing that player can do but go to the press (which would get him kicked off the team, and doesn't seem to work anyway).

Not sure where else to put this. I know most of you have already seen it. But I wanted to post it so we could make fun it some more.

Btw, I think we can agree that had it been a ND player doing that, it'd make national news, sportscenter top 10, and every talk show host would be talking about it.

"How bad does that pitch hurt Denard's draft stock?"

Seriously, this cracks me up. I laughed so hard when I first saw it. This should be great for their QB recruiting sales pitch. LOL

Catcher should have been wearing blue and gold, maybe even a #5 and Denard would have hit him dead on!

If you look at the photographer in the back in the orange hat you can see the exact moment he thinks to himself, "WTF was that?!"
