It's certainly possible to retire at 44. When do you have econ? You should take it next semester, you'll get a decent sense of microeconomics and will give you insight into this.

I’m around 40, I could easily retire and have enough for my kids and their kids to retire… but retirement is not even something I’m remotely interested in. Stay sharp, have purpose… the moment I “quit” I’m showing my kids they can quit. Money is cool to pass down but laziness and no purpose will not be my legacy.

I think if i were in the position to retire at 44 I would probably continue to work in some fashion, even if it were something fake like "consulting" or whatever.

But yes, the idea you can't retire at 44 is silly. Its just extremely uncommon. I'll probably work into my mid 60's. That's okay.

Shots fired. You were an employee, someone gave you an opportunity. Congrats. I was given an opportunity by someone that just happened to be related. Seeding cash to create wealth is basically the same as someone else starting a business and investing their money and then letting you work for them. I’m doing fine on my own with the opportunity I’ve been given just like you… I chose to continue to “work”, you don’t… yay for you.
