Logic is overrated. Leftists use emotion, and emotion is far more effective than logic with respect to politics, if used correctly. Kavanaugh has a shot at confirmation bc he abandoned logic and instead used emotion to defend himself and attack those who are trying to destroy him. The left hates when anyone on the right uses emotion, which explains the organized attack against his "temperament" or that he is "unhinged".

Fear is an emotion and the GOP has copyrighted all usage of fear to sway voters. I mean, does anyone use that terror stop-light anymore?

As for logic... yes, let's logically start a trade war AFTER breaking up the trade bloc that was meant to leverage against the very country we're fighting against... THEN tell the American public that it was a great idea to both break up the band and try to put the band back together again.

You're usually better than half-thought FNC talking points, Bill.

Come on man, really.... both play on fear.... "People will die" is copyrighted by the left.

On trade... logically speaking, our trade deals suck. If you ran a business, would you enter a deal that clearly disadvantaged your business, and made the other guy rich? You would not. Why is it OK that the US is disadvantaged in just about every trade deal we've ever signed in the last 50 years? I don't care for how DT has gone about things, but I have zero problem with any president going after bad deals, including NATO.

Love that you throw gay jokes at Graham. I have no idea if he is a fruitcake or not, nor do I care. He threw the biggest shade I've seen perhaps ever. Schumer is still trying to get the taste of Lindsey's sack out of his mouth after that epic teabag.

McCain didn't have a pair. If he did, he would have gotten testicular cancer instead. Hell he may have had a shot at winning the Presidency even if he had a pair.

Lets see how you respond when you get railroaded the way Kav did. You are actually right there in Webster as the the definition of douche. Odd you'd use it as a slur of a Mucho Catholic judge. It doesn't matter what he did or didn't do at this point honestly, the way the Dems/her team handled it. This was entirely designed to come after him in the worst way possible rather than handling it the way it ought to have been done.

Honestly can't get over how bad my boy Lindsey did to the Democrats on national television. Might be worse than what the '85 Bears did to the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

I was told she was afraid of flying, wrong on so many levels.
She had no corroboration.
She couldn't remember a damn thing from the last couple months.
She knows only that Kav did it.

Regarding the background check, I'm going through one right now. Takes about 18 months. They shook down my dad's childhood priest on his background check. They talk to classmates. They talk to friends. I have no idea what more you folks want them to do.

Judging by who your senators are, my standards for judging the average Hawaiian citizen's intelligence is pretty low. If you need me to sound out the big words, PM me and I'll give you my number so I can walk you through it.

I have a lot of gay friends. Let me clue you in, bro - Graham's gay as rain is wet. The only reason he can't be who he really is, is because of the small-minded bigots in the GOP. No idea why he identified with that party, other than opportunism.

I have zero concerns about "getting railroaded" because I was never a fratty-douche that abused women. Your discussions on hypotheticals are meaningless when the potential for that situation is zero. Your dedication to him is cute, though. Just like with the orange fraud. It's almost as if you're such a beta male that you need a strong alpha to tug you along. I hope they give you a simple safe-word.

Oh, last thing: It's funny to watch the under-accomplished criticize Hirono. They completely underestimate her motives and methods (as I did, honestly, until last year.) She's Phi Beta Kappa and a Georgetown Law grad. When your cow-college degree can stand up to that, let me know.

With no insurance, people will die. Not because insufficient-insurance per se will cause death, but the lack of care and follow-up combined with financial pressures on underfunded clinics/hospitals causing their closure... see how that argument goes? it's fucking boring and long-winded.

It's better to say "People will die." We learned that from the right. Thank you.

I face that business reality on the daily. Sometimes you strike deals that are not totally advantageous to you, because you lack the proper leverage. That being said, you failed to address the simple logical fact that going to war with your allies against a shared enemy is a hell of lot better than going it alone. That was the dumbest thing the American worker fell for when they voted for the Cheeto.

On fear, and People Will Die.... if we don't outlaw cars, people will die. if we don't outlaw alcohol, people will die. If we don't outlaw tobacco, people will die. BTW, I'm for nationalized HC (just not the Obama model). Point is, people die all the time. Death can be prevented in a lot of ways. You could save more lives by outlawing booze and cigs than by forcing people to pay the individual mandate. So you want to say smoking and drinking is an individual choice...??? Well if that's the case, shouldn't health care be an individual choice too?

Back to trade... The US has leverage. We have not used it... On war, we don't need to go to war. And it's idiotic for the US to keep paying more than Europeans, to protect Europe. Allies are groups/nations allied in a common goal. They don't have to be best friends, they don't have to pay more than the other, and they don't have to bend over on trade deals to be "Allies".

I already made it clear I don't care if Lindsey is a fruitcake or not. Its still amusing watching left leaning folks get mad at him and use it as an insult. And DiFi still has his sack imprinted on her forehead.

My brother in law graduated top 2% at Georgetown Law and it took me all of two LSAT practice tests to do better than he did. That woman isn't very bright and a piece of paper from Georgetown ain't gonna change that.

As for a cow college, yep. I went to one. I don't see what that has to do with your senator's IQ being within a couple points of Forest Gump.

Huh, I agree with this re: Maher generally (in this case he’s on target minus the homophobic undertone).

He's a douche. A huge douche. And he's a double douche for making a homophobic joke. he's nothing but a shock jock. it's rumored that Hollywood even thinks he's a douche. But he's their douche....

Quit reading as soon as I read the "this man should never serve"

What a gong show. Kav rules. Everyone knows he rules. His reputation as a judge is so flawless y'all had to go find a high school chick who can't keep her story straight to try and stop the beast.

They couldnt have a smooth confirmation. This is the new norm for Sen Feinstein and Departacus.

Confirm him.

Re: certainty, I don't know what happened on July 1, 1982. I think it is likely something happened similar to what Dr. Ford described, but I believe that both parties have genuinely different recollections of the facts and what they mean. Certainly my experience in the Army suggests that traumatic events have ways with screwing with people's memories- very frequently the traumatic moment will be seared into someone's mind but a lot of the details surrounding the trauma blur together. It made it difficult gathering intel from patrols that had been in a firefight.

But I know for certain that Kav is a liar. I know for certain that "devil's triangle" is not a drinking game, that boofing in a yearbook is not farting, that getting into Yale law school doesn't mean shit as evidence of whether or not you partied hard in college, that Renate alumnius means he was bragging about having banged her in high school, that he did watch Dr. Ford's testimony, that he mischaracterized what a supreme court justice does etc...

And I know that he lied about all of those things under oath. Which is a federal felony (18 U.S.C. 1621) on its own.

Ford was honest about the limits of her memory. Kav was indignant that he had to be bothered. He's an entitled lying prick. Conservatives have shelves full of identically qualified jurists-- two of them with solid ties to Notre Dame-- who aren't well documented liars and lifelong creatures of the DC swamp.

Truth.

I doubt his life has been turned into hell. But he blames the Dems for his confirmation being delayed, not his alleged past behavior that raised questions that needed investigation. I don't doubt he knew he was lying.

yeah, I remember those terrible false allegations Feinstein made against Gorsuch.
Gorsuch was replacing Scalia. They aren't throwing a tantrum because Gorsuch was a fine dude and Kavanaugh is a rapist, they're throwing a tantrum because Kavanaugh is seen as a conservative replacing a moderate and Dems love abortion.
