In the 2022 offseason, Day was crying that they didn't have enough money and after he made his comments they started nabbing a bunch of elite recruits.

I wouldn’t blame him if he did.

He already knows someone was brought in to start next year. I hope the staff can convince him to stay, but with the film out there now of him showing he’s got it, I’m not sure he would entertain staying if given a starting gig somewhere like OSU.

Either way, what a great problem to have.

Why doesn't pOSU just go after Kaidon Salter who entered the TP today? He "led the Flames to a 13-1 record with an appearance in the Fiesta Bowl this season. Salter completed 61% of his passes for 2,876 yards and 32 touchdowns with six interceptions. He showcased a strong dual-threat capability with 1,089 yards rushing and 12 additional touchdowns on 163 carries."

Nick Saban did essentially the same thing in a press conference when TX A&M was signing their historic class a couple years ago.

Right now is a very emotional time for that fanbase, and it shouldn’t be too hard to twist some wealthy donors arms into thinking that they need some serious money to compete.

They are squarely staring down the barrel of their most hated rival supplanting them as the undisputed alpha dog of the conference. That has to stoke some irrational spending.

Saban did a similar thing in the early days of NIL when TAMU was going crazy. He basically told Bama fans and boosters they needed to open their wallets if they wanted to keep competing

The portal closes today right? If it’s Arnold or Angeli they’re after, OSU needs to move fast.

But maybe can wait 'til Spring. If I'm Angeli, I'm at least hanging thru Spring ball to give it a shot and then can transfer in May or whatever next TP period is.

Agreed. I would Angeli should (and at this point probably will) wait until spring ball to make any decisions. I would also think Ohio State will want its 2024 QB there for spring ball.
