Hi, im a Bama fan, after reading some of the ND fans' thoughts on here, i thought i would give some thoughts if yall want to hear a different perspective.
ND has had a great season, undefeated and you have to respect that, but i am shocked at some of the comments about Alabama and how ND will match up.
First of all, your TE does look good, no doubt, but some members on here are acting like he can't be covered.
If thats the case, shouldn't he have had more than 40 something receptions and 4TD?
I mean why not throw it to him more in the Pitt game and save yourself the drama of overtime, after all, no one can cover him right?
And then someone said that ND has a better passing game than Bama, does anybody read stat sheets?
McCarron leads the nation in passing efficiency with a 173.8 , and has 26TDs and only 3INTs.
Your QB has 11TD and 5 picks and is 64th in the nation is passing efficiency at a 131.8 rating.
Denard Robinson has a 127.4 rating to give you an idea of how mediocre that is.
I do think ND stacks up very good on defense, this could turn out to be an old fashioned slug fest.
I hope to not come off as trash talker, and y'all have every right to be proud of your team after they went undefeated.
I just think some fans are getting carried away, go to a Bama board and you will find some over the top fans too, i try to keep level headed.

Play action, Chris Breezy for 6, first play of the game.
Golson had gone to Brown on that post route about 5 times this season, and they've only connected once. Granted, it happened against OU, but we're gonna be in for a long night if that's our offensive staple in Miami.
Last years Bama defense was legendary, i still can't believe we lost to LSU at home, but thats another story.Fair points but Eifert has to be doubled. That's why we are saying we match up well in the pass. TJ Jones has emerged as another solid option in the passing attack as the season has progressed. We are by no means saying we're going to throw for 300 yards or destroy your secondary, but I think we can test it more than Georgia bc Eifert can line up as a TE/WR, and Riddick can line up as RB/WR. Put a LB on Eifert or Riddick and it isn't going to be pretty. Play a safety or corner on Eifert and he'll out jump them. I have no doubt Saban will come up with the best may to mitigate their impact.

Welcome to IE! We could always use more perspective. As long as you stay level headed and don't resort to trolling or trash talk, you should enjoy your time on this board and we will enjoy your company.
Golson has developed a ton over the course of this season and really started to blossom in the last couple games. That's why we are hyping him up so much. Golson will be hard to sack and Alabama will have to dedicate a player to spy on him especially on third downs as he is very nimble.
I don't doubt McCarron is a great game manager, but I have seen three Bama games this year and he seems to under-throw his receivers quite often. There is a reason Saban didn't let him throw at all in the second half of the SEC championship game.
I am looking forward to seeing both of our lines match up. This game will be brutal for the guys in the trenches.
We've lost some offensive players for the year, including WR Bell, he wont be back for the game.Besides your #2 receiver, what injuries do you have going into the game?
What was the result of the 2 DL that were injured in the SEC championship game?
Ill have to watch the USC again, the guy that stood out to me was Riddick, looks like a versatile guy.Welcome to IE! We could always use more perspective. It's true McCarron is kind of a game manager, part of that is just the way Saban coaches, he hates turnovers and risk taking from the QB position.
The McCarron to Cooper connection has really been big this year though, and we've had some 300 yard passing games this year, pretty rare for the Saban era, who usually just runs the ball down everybodys throat.
Thats a good question, his accuracy hasn't been as good lately, and there were rumors that he has a shoulder issue that they didn't report.I guess to me, the question is: If ND can stop Bama's running game and make McCarron beat us, can he do it? And I don't mean by occasionally throwing deep like he did vs. Georgia - because we haven't let that happen much either - but consistently making short/medium passes to move the chains.
That's what we give, and so far no one we've played has been good enough to beat us that way.
Of course, if it turns out ND can't stop Bama's running game, the question is largely moot.

Time off and extra game planning would help.
He does have BCSCG experience from last year, and he played good against LSUs defense in that game and they were loaded with NFL level DBs and pass rushers.
When was the last time 'Bama trailed anyone by 20 points?

Saban camera loving? He hates the camera with a passion, he would be in heaven if he didnt have to deal with the press. That is the reason he comes off as an ******* all the time. That and stupid reporters asking dumb questions.
Saban is one of those guys that you don't like........Welcome, hope to have some good, solid banter with you!!!
I am one of those guys that likes the players but is not too favorable to the team..... Kinda like how I liked Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Darryl Johnston, Irvin, Harper.... but could and can not stand the Cowboys.
Same with alabama, I like A.J. and think he has incredible field presence, and Lacy reminds me a lot of Ron Dayne. Defense is stout too.
But just so you know, I didn't like Jimmy Johnson and I don't like camera loving Saban. Great coaches, just don't like 'em....
We'll just see how it goes with you....
GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!

Until he's coaching your favorite team LOL.
I never cared much for him before, but he's just wired a little different than most coaches, doesn't smile and celebrate very much, just moves on to the next challenge.
I have grown to appreciate him, BSC Championships are becoming a common occurrence, pretty easy to like his style now that he's on my side.

This would actually work in Bama's favor. They have more than enough DL depth to keep their guys fresh and our front seven needs as much rest as possible between possessions against that monster OL.
You think it would work in Bama's favor? I am looking at it like this; we aren't going to outsmart Saban. At best we are looking at a chess match. If we find a package and get one up on him, wouldnt it benefit us to go into the hurry up so that he can't sub and is forced to burn a timeout?
I am looking at it as a fight. Play cat and house, move in and move out, and when you catch your opponent off guard, go after him hard with every combination you can throw until he either backs out or wraps you up and the ref jumps in.
I'm not saying go no huddle all game, just when we find a hole in his defense. Letting Saban adjust will cost us. Take him out of his game by controlling the tempo and clock.

That is exactly how you do it, plus you have to some big plays, capatalize on any and all of Bama's mistakes and not make any of your own or at least very few.
Bama is 49-0 under Saban when rushing for 150 yards or more. You will have to stop the run and that is whole lot easier said than done.

We can go no huddle with Riddick and Eifert on the field to give us great versatility in our formations. We can go single back, 1 TE and shift to 5 WR with the same personnel which would prevent Saban from subbing and attempting to slow us down. Even if it isn't overly effective, it'd still **** him off, so I'm for it.

It might **** off Saban. But for all the talk about up-tempo offense under Kelly, we have done it very little. Given the noise and inevitable nerves, the caliber of Alabama's defense and how quickly an "up-tempo" offense can go off the rails, I'd be very surprised if we start on Jan. 7.
