so friday is my big 29th... my wife and I are not home tomorrow and are staying at my sisters in long beach on thursday before going to DisneyLand on friday for my actual B Day... so we decided to open my b day presents now...
I got... (counting up to the piece de resistance)
1.) New black socks for work... I needed those bad
2.) some new shoes... I have nerve damage in my right foot from my playing days so yeah I ALWAYS need that
3.) Torre and Verducci "The Yankee Years" Hardcover... the Hardcover is key because once I am done reading it I can put it on display in our living room (dark wood baseball themed to begin with)
4.) "Soul of the Game" the last good book on Buck ONeil before he passed... again hardcover
here's where it gets good people.... you best be sitting down...
5.) An Original telecast copy of the 1979 Cotton Bowl... no explaination needed here I think
6.) Notre Dame drink coasters for the living room, my wife got me these... how freaking cool is she???
7.) Last and certainly COMPLETE opposite of least... a beautiful blue and gold ND flag for the front of the house that has each of the glorious 11 posted inset above the gold helmet... and yeah she even likes the idea of displaying it often for all the neighbors to see...
I love birthdays.... and that was only HER side of the family... my parents, sister and friends come later... "not spoiled, just well taken care of" seems to fit...
