It's listed as being in Indy. A Rick Mirer lead Goshen team actually beat them in '88 for the 4A State championship.

Does anyone know if he is on ND's radar. I think he'll end up a 4*. Through 7 games this year 1272 yards rushing and 22 Tds

I don't think so, I haven't heard anything about him in quite some time, and I've seen several recuits state that they were just recruiting 2 or 3 RBs at this point which would be R.Williams, C.Gray, and would've been C.Thomas.

With Carlton Thomas commiting to Georgia, is there anything suggesting an offer may be coming to Willis in the event Williams or Gray go elsewhere?? I would hate to see us p/u no one at RB.

That's pretty much where I wanted to go with this.

I doubt it. From what I've heard Williams and Gray have been the top two RBs on ND's board for quite a while. Remember that ND passed on offering Jonas Gray for the guys that they already have offered so I wouldn't really expect any more RB offers to come out unless they didn't think they were going to get any, and they still felt that they needed one.

So which way are Gray or Williams leaning? What happens if we end up with neither? I know we have three solid backs for next year with Aldridge, Allen and Hughes, but some insurance if one of them goes down would be a good idea. Next year, assuming Jabbie does not return as a 5th yr, we have Munir Prince and Nikolas Rodriguez as other RB's (non full-backs), and I think Prince has officially moved to defense.

I suppose that if Weis wants one or both of those two, what he doesn't want to have happpen is a different target accept and then run out of scholarships or worse, have to pull that guys offer after he accepts.

Yes, Prince is a cornerback now. He played a fair amount against UCLA, I take it.

I think ND has a lest a decent to fair shot at Gray right now, and I think they have a very good shot at Williams.

I think where Weis is concerned is that he doesn't want to use up a scholarship on a guy that won't see the field much. What's the point in offering and taking a guy that might very possibly get beat out by backs that ND brings in next year. Then they'll just be riding the bench and taking up a schollie. But if ND were to not take anyone in this class then they would have an even better chance of landing an elite guy next year, and they could use that extra schollie to build depth in an area that was left thin because of a transfer.

Notre Dame may not get a RB this year.

I feel good about Gray, though.

Just curious... what makes you think Ryan Williams is more likely to commit than Cyrus Gray?

Rayn has already visited with his mom, and they both had a great visit, Cyrus has yet to visit ND. Remember how high Sabino was on ND untill he visited, ND isn't for everyone. I've also heard that Cyrus still might have some academic hurdles to overcome before he could actually get into ND as well. Finally I think Cyrus's list of potential scholls is a little larger than Ryan's. Last I knew Cyrus only had a top ten and while ND looks to be in his top 5, Virgina Tech looks to be the only real competition for Williams.

"Realistically, VT is as good a school as ND - several great programs"

What? What programs Dog fighting? I think recruits will look at the character issues surrounding VT- The Vick Brothers, Jimmy Williams just to name a few

VaTech is a quality school. You have to remember that there are a lot of quality schools out there where athletes can get a very good education. The difference is that many of the big schools don't encourage their athletes to take a full load of legitamate classes so their on pace to graduate.

Yes, that's right. The key thing about ND isn't where they fall in any bullcrap rankings, or even what their academic standards are, but the fact that they demand that these kids get a real education, and help them do that. It's a lot harder to do that at a place like Va. Tech, especially as an athlete.

If this kid runs a legit 4.4 at 6ft 215lb, he is definitely worth a look.

Well, let me edit. VT has had some "character" problems ever since beamer got there.
