You'd man crush on him. Lol

no, i would resent him for his doubts of this program, i would hope he never saw the field. Id rather us lose a game due to a weak D-Line than have someone like him on our team, i said long ago, "goodbye and good luck elsewhere" how do we know he wouldnt transfer out after the first semester if he didnt like it? So again, no i wouldnt, my man crushes are reserved for QBs (that dont get kicked off the team for being dumbasses *cough bennie! *cough)

PS (10000) Vbucks this all blows over and Lynch stays at FSU. any takers?

If he did abandon FSU, it would be one of the weirdest recruiting sagas I can remember. I would certainly welcome him with open arms, but it doesn't seem at all likely.

Ahh man... I cant ride this train with you my friend. Aaron, by all accounts seems like a good kid. He isn't a thug, a criminal or someone that bashes ND like Hounshell. He is a confused (or was at least) kid that decided to stay close to home.

Did he sting us along? Yes.

But Notre Dame fans also killed this kid on forums, message boards, facebook, etc. He thought highly enough to spread his Grandfather's ashes on campus, so on at least some level, he respects what Notre Dame stands for. While I personally think he will not end up here, I think that he would have a great career at Notre Dame, and I for one, would root for him.

I can't see this happening but who knows these days. I can't imagine any programs telling him no if he showed up ready to sign.

I think Lynch elicits so much passion here because he seemed like such a natural fit. Mother a Notre Dame fan, grandfather a huge Notre Dame fan, spreading his grandfather's ashes on campus, his mom being on here and active, saying things we all loved. What's not to love about that.

Add to that he plays at a position that is most sensitive to most of us, d-line where we have had so many disappointments. Definitely some open wounds there.

I personally saw him as the single player that could most be associated with Notre Dame's revival. Kelly is going to get it done, and if Aaron produced like we think he can, he would have become a great name in our football history. Now it's a team game but his popularity would have set him apart, especially with Mama Lynch in the stands.

Now maybe he goes on to be an All-American at FSU, but he'd be just another AA there. At Notre Dame he could have been legend. Would have been great.

I was disappointed when he de-committed but he did it early, didn't say that BS where Notre Dame is still being considered (that never happens). It was clean. I have sons his age and texting is a second language to these guys. Most of us probably would have done it differently but texting is a serious social avenue to these kids. It still beat the hell out of Greg Little (no communication) as an example.

I can't carry a grudge. Wish him the best, Mama Lynch too! Wish he would change his mind too!

This is like looking through an old high school yearbook...the days when we had two arguable 5 star DEs and Mama Lynch was on here crackin jokes with the rest of us....ahhh THOSE were the days.

(but then again during those days we lost to Mich St, Stanford, Navy...)

Yea, I could see that, or there is that possibility he is a kid, that decided randomly to wear a a shirt he got on a recruiting trip from the bookstore.

Idk bout that. I would never wear a shirt that don't rep my school

Lynch starts classes very soon at FSU and he will not be coming to ND. As for the LOI, that is just a term used to say he is in school now. Recruits can not sign a LOI before signing day.

On a side note, this thread got to 6 pages very quickly

In one of the links in this thread there is an interview where he opens up about his 'messy split' with the Irish. I wasn't a member to the site and couldn't read it. Interesting that he has that shirt on, but with all the games that have surrounded his (de)commiting I wouldn't put to much belief in it. And momma Lynch still love the Irish. On every other recruits FB pages she often replies to thier posts and posts on their wall on how they will be happy at ND and she will be watching them and rooting for them. Whats funny is I believe she also posted on Hayes wall after he flopped to U of M that she stood by him on his decision. For the record I have no real belief that he is Irish on NSD.

The kid's smarter than I gave him credit for.

He either
a: wore that shirt to generate more buzz (smart)
or
b: is actually going to go to ND (smarter).

edit: It occurs to me that there is an option c, but it is so unfathomable that I will not mention it.

He told ISD today that is going to FSU.

Nothing to see here folks. In better news, Ishaq and Tuitt are dominated at those practices.

Ummm, not so fast my friend. Lynch has looked pretty damn good as well. On par with if not better than Tuitt according to some. Too fast to handle. He was a big loss for us, not doubt...

O I will never argue that. How awesome would it have been to have 3/4 of the DEs on the East team (Tuitt, Lynch, Ishaq)? Ishaq was been labeled as the fastest of them all, but he is also 30 lbs less than them. Lynch has certainly represented himself very well. ISD has raved about him after watching him today. It's no doubt a big loss but holding onto Tuitt and adding Ishaq would certainly help.

I just had a great idea. What if we incepted lynch. We plant the idea in his head that ND is clearly the better choice. It will come to define who he is. I'm thinking a dream within a dream. The 2nd level will be him as a superstar at ND just dominating, and then after football he uses his degree to continue his success. Then he wakes up in the 1st level, in which he had actually chosen to attend FSU and now he's homeless begging for money. The stark contrast between the two choices will be so great that when he wakes up to reality he has no choice but to recognize what ND can give him.
