If people don't truly see a change in our team this year it's because they aren't looking. The whole program has changed as well as the attitudes of the players. The change in our W/L columns will come, I'm already tired of all this wanting "instant gratification". DO people really think that the team and Kelly don't want to win? Have a little faith and show some positive support for the coaches, players and incoming recruits.

the whole idea behind this post was to get a realistic idea of when we can say "alright the Irish are for real." Having been a fan for 17 years - a lot younger than most on here I am sure - I have been fooled a few times. I know Kelly is the real deal. Is this season too early for this team to show something different? By different I mean beating a team we aren't supposed to. I think we may be in for a surprise, in a good way. Go Irish, beat Stanford.

NDOM do you realize that every stroried program in this nation has had its ups and downs. Every one. No team dominates forever. It takes alot to make a winning program.
Such as
The drive to win and to always get better no matter how good you are
Attention to detail
The will to work hard and never give up
Love of the game/Brotherhood/Responsibility
Constant recruiting
Development of players and coaches
Nerves of steel
Players trust in the coaches and coaches trust in the players
Players trust in fellow players and coaches trust in fellow coaches
Support from the university

If you put these all together with a little time you get a winning program. Throw in a little luck and you get a national championship. So tell me NDOM which one of the things fom the above list do you think this team and staff are not adressing. Maybe we should sacrifice all of this list for a couple of wins right now or maybe we should build a program.

Jeez, why can't ND just win by 50 every week and finish 13-0 every year? There obviously is zero parity in college football and we should automatically be #1 since no other program should be able to field as good of a team as ours without cheating.

Let's just keep a dozen teams and get rid of all the rest of college football because the rest will never compete for a national championship so they are irrelevant.

Saint Lou was 5-6.
Give Kelly a chance to get a few players selected for their ability to play in the spread and the 3-4.
We have 3/4 or more of the team chosen to run a pro-style offense, and to play in a 4-3 pro-style defense, with not much thought given to the defensive backs and linebackers.
Recruiting and coaching didn't appear to give much emphasis to defensive football; except for one individual, all the skill players ended up on offense.
When Kelly has a chance to get his style of players, geared to college football, and ND no longer is just a mediocre farm club for the pros great things are going to happen.
Those of you who have no attention span and can't stand to accept what it takes to lift ND out of the **** poor mess it has been in for the past decade+ should go sit in the corner with the rest of the two years olds until you can grow up.
ND is great and we are finally on the correct road.

Dude. We're 3 games into the season. No one can argue with you that we have lost the past 2 games. But you're beating a dead horse. If you can't see improvement beyond a win-loss record, then there's no hope in changing your mind. We can stop the bickering.

All of you are beating the same dead horse though, and thats the funny part. You all say that I'm beating a dead horse but you are as well by saying the same crap as last year. Bottom line is were still losing people. So would you rather have a team that plays hard and shows improvement and BLAH BLAH FREEKING BLAH but at the end still loses?
