Bush Push - blessing in disguise? If that happens, CW MIGHT make it to the NC game, and he'd have been here a H of a lot longer than he was.

Watching that last reminded me just how amazing Reggie was. Love him or hate him, it was a lot of fun watching him play.

ND would have for sure been playing for a title had they won the Bush Push game. Their only loss being early in the season against MSU in OT. USC would have been the only team to get in over us...and we would have both been one loss teams with us winning the head to head while they were ranked #1 in the country.

Remember it like yesterday...sigh. The fourth and long pissed me off more than the actual Bush Push.

Agreed. I loved watching him when it wasn't against ND.

Probably the best pass of Leinert's career. We actually had really good coverage and the ball just made it over the defender. I got physically sick watching it live and I get a few chills thinking about it again. Such a miserable evening and next morning.

Even worse when Ambrose Wooden admitted he felt his finger tips brush the ball on that play. Ugggh.

My memories of that game:

- Zbikowski PR.

- Starting out with two identical pitches to Darius Walker that set the tone right away. If you can't stop it, we'll keep running it.

- Powers Neal being suspended the week before, and our backup Full back dropping a 3rd and 5 out route that would have sealed the game in the 4th quarter. This play is never mentioned but I'll never forget the feeling when I saw the backup drop a perfect pass that would walk him into the endzone.

- 4th and 9. I just will never get over that.

- Leinart getting hit and initially thinking he scored. Finding out he fumbled, and celebrating. Then realizing he fumbled out of bounds :(.

- The Bush Push.

Watching now. God I fucking hate USC. I hate them more than Michigan and the Yankees combined.

Agree, I've never been more upset after watching a football game. Brutal.

And this is why we shouldn't have fullbacks. Too soon?

Watched that game at an Irish pub in San Pedro with my buddy Shaun, his grandpa who is from Ireland and his uncle who is from Scotland. We were surrounded by SC fans, grandpa kept yelling "kick the damned field goal!" and I couldn't understand a damn thing the Scottish Uncle said the whole time. Anyhow, we all got super drunk and taunted the SC fans mercilessly. When SC won I shrugged my shoulders told the SC fans "the best SC team ever" had to cheat to beat ND. We then all went back to Shaun's other uncles apartment. By coincidence that uncle's buddies who played pipes and drums on the side showed up fresh from a funeral dressed in full Celtic honor guard garb with drums and bagpipes and proceeded to do a full drum and bagpipe procession (which we all joined) around the entire apartment complex. This was promptly followed by an impromptu jam session with guitars, drums, pipes and spoons in the uncles apartment. Best college football game day experience I've ever had.

The late Asaph Schwapp. He didn't drop it. It was badly overthrown by Quinn. Schwapp didn't even get a hand on it.

That 4th & 9 still makes me nauseated thinking about it. If his arm was 1 inch higher that pass is deflected.

eh...Schwapp settled down and Quinn expected him to keep going. It was a 3rd and long play and the only way it had a chance was if he kept running, so the throw wasn't really the problem.

What was devastating though was the missed 38 yard field goal the play after.

Also, Zbikowski's angle on 4th and 9 is what haunts me more than anything else about that game.

Pray for me brothers; my ex wife who left me after me putting me her through schoo and took my son, my dogs, my house, and my life is taking her new bf to this game. I've never been to a game but she's taking someone else to my Mecca just to kiss me off. I'm on the verge of losing my shit! Pray for an Irish victory first then for my sanity!!! Btw they're both use fans now

What if I told you that Leinart fumbled at the 3 instead of inside the 1? An ESPN 30 for 30 film: BULLSHIT

This. So many dumb things in this game but I'll be damned if I wasn't freaking out at that spot.... Who knows if things would have been different after that, but on that play they should have been.
