Got serious burn as a FR WR on STA. Put up 200+ yds at 19 ypc.

Gonna look so good going for 202 yds from Gunner in the 2029 Natty Game. I'm going co-MVP's right now.

And yes, it's HIS son.

Loved his dad at ND and was a very good pro also. Very impressive offer list already for such a young player. Love the speed and bloodlines dimension a lot. Seems like a lot of talented recruits with some type of ties to ND or former studs in some form. Hope Irish are a real player here.

Julius Jones is the first player I can remember as a kid growing up. I was 6 in 2003, probably just watching with my family having no idea what was going on, but if someone was talking about Julius Jones then something good was happening for our irish.

You had more years on Earth than the 2003 team had wins.

I was spoiled enough to have my first memories be of the 2005 team (although the first game I remember vividly was the USC game). I was already 9 at that point though, which begs the question, what was my father doing slacking like that? (probably trying to save me from heartache)

Lot of young bucks on this here webpage. Then there’s those of us born in the time of the championship in ‘88, but our first real memories were the end of Lou’s era and the beginning of the Davie “era.” The pain of having been technically alive for the last natty, but not being able to remember it is bullshit.

At least you were alive. I was born in April of 89 and my narcissistic ass believes I’m the reason we haven’t won since…

Julius Jones was a very good player on some mediocre teams and was always part of a two or three headed monster backfield. It was him and Ryan Grant I believe?

Even with that and missing a year for academics, he still put up serious numbers at Notre Dame.

Hails from a town with a cool name: Big Stone Gap, VA.

Yup, Ryan Grant. Grant wasn't flashy, but he had a couple really good seasons once he wasn't splitting reps with Julius.

Grant arguably had the better pro career as well. Julius went 2nd round, Grant went undrafted but wound up with the Packers.
Julius had about 800 more yards for his career, Grant had several more TDs and helped lead the Packers to a Super Bowl win.

Ya'll over here talkin' about the 2003/2005 teams being your earliest memories, and I'm lookin' back at my 80s childhood thinking...

I've hung out with @Irish#1 a number of times, he's good people! A few of us posters sat together for the Cinci game too, and a bunch of us tailgated Louisville in 2019.

I can still remember the Ara years and the lean years until Lou arrived when he finally got us back to the mountain top. I guess I'm fortunate that I've been able to experience those championships, but it hasn't diminished my desire to experience one more before I punch the time clock one last time. 66, 73, 77, 88 & 93.

I was having all of your mothers and grandmothers and enjoying it. Especially yours Bobby.

Shared carries as a freshman with Tony Fisher and Tony Driver.
Split time as a sophomore with Tony Fisher and Terrance Howard. <-- The best team he was a part of
As a Junior was the feature back with Tony Fisher and Terrance Howard backing him up.
Post exile was the feature back with Ryan Grant sharing carries.
