Not my choice...I know who I would tell to kick rocks5 scholarship QBs in the NIL era? Good luck.

What was he supposed to say?
“This guy is ass and we made a mistake”?
Marcus doesn't have habit of disingenuous talk . When asked about QB recruiting he quickly states Grubbs is "as talented a player as we've evaluated in high school quarterbacks". Of course he is going to be complimentary in this context, but seemed authentic in expressing they really like what they see in him.what is he supposed to say? "The qb we took has made little strides and stinks"

Are you sure? In August, he spoke VERY highly of the defensive tackles. We quickly found out the DTs were not very good at all. In their defense, they’ve improved to “they’re okay” category.
Rubio is deserved of such praise. Dawson has been as advertised. Hughes has been better than advertised.
I’d rather he continue to develop with Gino. He’s not enrolling early to play now.
I think this is very telling of the staff’s opinion of Grubbs.
Welllll, Freeman did state Hinish was the best interior DL in fall camp, and proceeded to start and play him a ton in potential running situations vs Miami and A&M. That assessment hurt ND along with Hobbs.Rubio is deserved of such praise. Dawson has been as advertised. Hughes has been better than advertised.
Literally the best two OLs in CFB running over Hinish is not indicative of the DTs failing to meet the hype.

I think you're serious and pretty much agree.Yeah, looking back, Freeman basically had no clue what he had in personnel
While I like having 3 QB's in the room from a developmental stand point, I gotta say that I dont like any of them as backups. They would likely rather have Jarrard, Grubbs and Hebert back up Carr in 2026 as well as those three compete for the job in 2027 than find a transfer QB. It doesn’t have to be an indictment on Grubbs as everyone rushes to make it. It’s an indictment on the prospect of a transfer QB to replace Minchey.
Ofc we are onto Christian Gray in this thread somehow
That guy is a total clown. I clocked him from the moment he opened his mouth.I wonder if they hated how Grubbs' "QB guru" trainer affected his development and are trying to avoid a similar step back here

Things are in motion for touted Notre Dame QB commit Teddy Jarrard to reclassify to 2026 class
Notre Dame 2027 QB commit Teddy Jarrard has things in motion to reclassify to the 2026 class. Rivals has the latest.www.on3.com
Wiltfong and the quotes from Teddy's dad really make it sound like this was Notre Dame's idea
If Carr leaves its because he has played great which means we are up by 35 at half time a lot so Teddy gets a lot of game time and is very good.If Carr leaves after next season, I really don’t see a world in which we’re NOT taking a transfer QB for 2027.
It might be part of it, but I think a larger part is that they probably put the feelers out for a roster spot style transfer at QB and didn't love their options.Again supporting the common belief that the staff didn't necessarily love Grubbs' development since his commitment.
Countpoints: he's older than many in his grade, he can expedite his NIL earnings while getting a year of college football prep and starting his 5 for 5 clock. Waiting a year in high school has some risk associated with it too.I don't mean developing just as a qb. As a young man, socially, academically, maturity wise. His brain needs another year to develope.
But if he really wants to do it, I guess you need to support it.
If a QB is looking to transfer, most likely it's because they want to play and not be a backup. I can't see anyone who would want to come to ND with Carr already locked in.It might be part of it, but I think a larger part is that they probably put the feelers out for a roster spot style transfer at QB and didn't love their options.
Plus as others have mentioned, if Carr has the year we all think he is capable of next year it's better to have Jarrad in the system for a year before the QB battle in 2027.
No they believe he's not good.Could this also be a sign that ND believes Herbert may enter the Portal?
