Not even close they've landed nothing but blue chips recently and thats all their considering at the moment, game changing 4*/5* players and no project players! Strickly targeting top 150 players and their landing them. Especially considering they were barely a .500 team.

How the fuck do you think ND got to 11-1. When was the last time they had a top 5 recruiting class. They seem to be doing a pretty damn good identifying talent. Besides WR’s where is this team currently lacking and there is plenty of talent that will be in the portal.

11-1 is a matter of scheduling and they should be 12-0. Its games 13+ we need to worry about.
They fucking got to this point by beating 10 teams we were favored to beat, 1 team as an underdog and losing to the 8th/9th worse team on the schedule to be exact. A few teams were not as good as expected when the schedule was made, but you can't bank on that happening is the point! You can bank on competing with the elite teams annually by bringing in top talent. The last time we had a top 5 class was when we played dor the championship. You ask where the team is lacking? Relative to right now a Pass rush, WRs, a reliable Punter and a reliable Kicker. As for the future still a Pash rush, reliable WRs, experience at QB, and a stud at DT. Yea, there is plenty of talent in the portal every year, but how many of those studs are we in play for is the question.

We have a LOT of players outperforming players that were ranked much higher than them at their respective positions. Many of them are young. Our line is outperfoming even the most optimistic projections.
You’re missing my point. Yay, we are 11-1… we have seen this and been here before. I’m grateful. But… The people screaming about how “different” things are and telling us to look at the results on the field miss or forget we are going to have to play a Top 12 team. Which will tell us how “different” and better we have it now.
You guys are probably right. It’s exactly the same. Nothing has changed. Ignore all the statistics and actual literal data in the last three years comparing Kelly teams and Freeman teams.
To add to this. I am not so sure we want to be dropping bags for frosh. It looks fancy on signing day, but I could swear I have seen multiple "anonymous coaches' at the schools that are dropping talking about how their locker room dynamics have been adversely affected by this practice.
