So do we pursue another RB or what is the plan?
Disagree with that should def bring in 2 guysISD says no
With expanded scholarship limits-why?
Deland probably mailed it in this class because he didn't think he'd still be here. Completely inexcusable behavior if that's the case.Absolutely insane that we had to process both of our early RB commits. Would love to hear the conversations MF has had with Del over this.
Goal should be 3 rbs every 2 years. They hit on last year's 21 RB is fine but should use that spot for another d lineman
Del Alexander?
What if Price transfers this offseason? Could see the writing on the wall for low playing time with Love returning, Aneyas already taking snaps, and Young likely coming into the fold tooI feel like 1 RB is plenty. In two years one of Love/Price will probably still be here, and our two freshman RBs who appear to be studs need theirs too.
Better than having those backs on the roster for a couple of years, never see PT and transfer out. Just recruit better at the position! Too many studs at RB every year to grab low hanging fruit.I fully agree with this. It’s super crappy of the staff to cut him loose after a year of being committed.
Loy also said that ND helped out with finding him another school.
What happened to Payne? lol he would still be around. What if Price transfers this offseason? Could see the writing on the wall for low playing time with Love returning, Aneyas already taking snaps, and Young likely coming into the fold too
In that case, 2026 would be:
- Williams
- Young
- James
- 2026 RBs
Would like to see one more 2025 RB, but only if good enough to play
I would think Price would be more likely to enter the draft than transfer. He’s shown what he can do and he’s already had a major injury. What if Price transfers this offseason? I'm just hoping MF is even having these conversationsAbsolutely insane that we had to process both of our early RB commits. Would love to hear the conversations MF has had with Del over this.
MF needs to have that conversation with himself & Chad Bowden. Not DMC…I'm just hoping MF is even having these conversations
Maybe this conversation has already been had and they are confident that Price is returning. Even if he doesn't, you can fill that position with from the portal. What if Price transfers this offseason? WASNT DMC.DMC set himself up to hit a grand slam in the 2025 cycle, thanks to his success in the previous two cycles. Instead he pissed his pants and we had to flip a BC commit lol.
EXACTLY! but people always act like they would have handled it all differently when they don't know all the facts!!! The more you know!WASNT DMC.
He was against it.
DMC has that RB room rolling now. He and Mickens are both great recruiters and developers of talent. Thurman is a fantastic RB prospect.
But Freeman and DMC do not. They talk and text more then most people know....
This is NOT at you Jigg,,,just using ur post.....Recruiting is EXACTLY that....TONS of info even the talking heads don't even get but a lot of info is not able to be shared as they are "off the record"....unfortunately this site used to get and still does at times have info but the amount of just loud mouth, complaining like on twitter/facebook etc is really annoying anymore....people just don't have a f'ing clue and are yelling DMC, MF etc are taking low hanging fruit etc---U don't have a clueSome very interesting accusations being leveled at Deland McCullough right now. I doubt any of the talking heads would be able to confirm any of this, but it's quite something nevertheless.
Recruiting is often little of what is seen on the surface and a lot of what is underwater, not visible to the public. For a guy of his background who may or may not have head coaching ambition to "mail it in" and be "lazy" is incredibly unprofessional. Not saying that isn't possible, but it would be a pretty bad fucking look for a veteran coach to have to explain on his next move whether he's going by choice or Freeman has to fire him for being incompetent.
I think it's stones being cast with not a lot of substantial evidence at this point. I'd love for there to be some clarity as to what went down this cycle. I'll wait.
I would think there has to be some credit given for flipping James and the inroads that were made with Davidson?
